If a girl has no ID never ever under any circs go with her to your room or any other room. It is not worth the risk of leaving yourself open to all sorts of corruption when women are plentiful in Mombasa with ID.

I did it twice and was aware of the risk. All in all it reduces the fun when you are always a bit scared.

Quite a lot of girls around 20 don't have an ID. It costs money and takes them months to overvome the burocracy. What some do is to borrow the ID from a friend. In this case I think the Muzungu is off the hook.

I prefer Cowrie Shell Beach Apartments. Nice rooms, secure and very easy to bring girls.

The girls borrow an ID from their sister or friend. At least that's how they do it in Germany to get into a nightclub. Just be charming and the girl won't steal anything from you because she hopes to see you again. Life can be so easy.

I have witnessed the amount of shakedowns the last few years on tourists become a lot more frequent. It started with covid fines and now plenty other reasons as they have seen how easy tourists cough up instead of going to the station or walking away, 5 years ago they hardly bothered the mzungu on holiday. If you take an no ID girl who is in cohorts or friendly with a local Policeman, which they often are, you are inviting a big chunk of your holiday money being donated to the local Police station. Once a girl presents an ID, hers or not, to a reception you have covered your bases as she is now in the wrong. The girl and cop would not attempt a shakedown in that scenario and she would happily be on her way with the deal arranged.

Charming a girl and she won't steal. This is Kenya, leave 1000 bob on the table and let her leave of her own accord, that 1000 bob will go with her. A mzungu is purely cash to these girls.

A lot of long term ex-pats have left the last couple of years, yes covid played its part, but many are sick of the hassle from the local authorities now, again that never happened until the last few years.

I am not trying to put anyone off going, it is still good for plenty of cheap women, just be aware the risks are greater than a few years ago for problems.

It is just close to the Big Tree, hope their guest policy is a good one, but I have asked them.

But I've heard other stories.

The point is that an ID is not insurance. It has nothing to do with Kenya, it's the same everywhere. I don't trust any ID. I trust my common sense.

I stayed at the Big Tree for 2.5 weeks in February. I took 10 girls with me. An ID was only checked once. Nothing was written down and no copy of the ID was made.

Whether or not you get in trouble with the police certainly doesn't depend on whether a girl has an ID.

If you read my reports, you will find an investigation that I did hotels nearby Big Tree, because Big Tree was full, some months ago. I ended up take room from Sheratton also.

Like I wrote in that report, book room for two. If you book room for one, you need to pay extra every time that you have visitor. I guess you need to pay every time, like two times if you have girl for afternoon and for night? I don't remember, maybe it is written in that report, I am too lazy to look for that report.

I booked room for two with breakfast, I could take girl also to breakfast with me.

Big Tree is best daytime mongering place of North Beach, meaning Bamburi Beach, Nyali, Bamburi, Mwtapa. Especially girls from Bamburi community come there because it is so close. Also many Mwtapa girls frequently visit there. So if visiting mongerer plans to have many girls, Big Tree or those hotels in easy walking distance are good choice for accommodation.

I take room from Big Tree always if it is possible. It is cheapest of beach hotels, and it is so easy to take girl from Big Tree bar to my own room. Seems like hotel guests are mostly mongerers like me. And it is normal there that some fat, old, bald, ugly guy is with very pretty girl. Rooms are very simple, so for more luxury go to Sheratton or Blue Azul. Or Sai Rock even.

Also Cheers is very near, and from petrol station shop you can buy basic stuff and some food. Jambo Bora Bora is good restaurant in that petrol station complex.

If you have some local girl friend, then Diani alias South Beach is more beautiful and romantic place to spend time. But it is quiet place compared to North Beach.

I asked from Sheratton receptionist if they have ever have problems about name with Sheraton hotel chain. She said no, and they even have another Sheratton hotel, was it in Mombasa town? So they have their own Sheratton hotel chain.
