And for your 4500 plus, for the most part you're getting a rush job where the gal can't wait to get back to the bar for another go. I can think of a lot better ways to spend 150 USD. Not sure how mamasan stole a tip. 1000 is a round number (no change). You should not be paying the girl's 3 k in advance. Best to pay BF separately to the drinks. I usually hand the BF direct to the girl and she can go seek a mamasan. I don't like mamasans being present when trying to make a deal with a girl (however I speak Thai so communication is not a problem). If mamasans are hanging around me I can wait till they go away.

So I guess you would promote (demote?) a waitress to mamasan? With the difference being that you know the waitress and that you approach her for asking advice (instead of her approaching you)?

I totally get it and I would do the same. I don't like mamasans in general, because I don't like to be pushed into anything. But mamasan services are worth gold in my opinion. If one has developed a relationship with the mamasan and some kind of mutual trust, an understanding that you will treat each other with fairness. With respect to other comments, indeed the session at Globe is for 1/2 hour only. That's fine with me as I have no desire to stick around and chat with the girl. When I monger in Colombia, I typically rent an apartment and as a result I spend more time with the girls. I provide food and booze, and my Spanish is pretty decent. Even then I get bored pretty quickly because these girls are relatively young (early to mid 20's) and I am not close to their age. I find it difficult to keep them entertained.

In the old days Thailand was suited to getting a girl for the whole night for a very good price, or even to hire her for multiple days on a holiday tour.

I still get a price benefit in Thailand over Germany, due to needing more time. 60 minutes is my minimum (in Germany too) and sometimes runs to 90 minutes or whatever extra time is available.

Patpong has not been on my to do list since 13 years and even then I only attended once with a semi-girlfriend, for dinner only. So I thought let's experience this. I'm not so experienced with gogo bars, so it was an evening to learn something new. I did not get laid nor did I want to, but at least three people were going to be very happy tonight: the feet, the fatty and the freshman. More on that later.

I went there by BTS and looked for the Patpong side streets. First I made a round to see what's what, but then got into King's Castle I. An ok sized gogo bar, with quite some talent (best I've seen tonight, though that is not saying everything). Watched a few rotations drinking a beer and then went on for King's Castle (no number I think).

Ok size bar as well, with a few hotties dancing in front. They were clearly there as eyecandy and did not do any effort to get called over to sit with customers. Only interested in a few high rollers. I was willing to buy, but they did not even look my way. Okay, if it is like that than suit yourself. Their loss, for me there are more fish in the pond and as stated I was not really into taking a girl out this evening.
