Not all ping pong show bars are scammers. If you go to one of those scamming bars, they might try to charge you $100+ for a beer. Multiple guys will surround you and pressure you to pay. Never touch them. They will not beat you up, if you don't touch them. The tour book said, if you pay up, just go to the tourist police and they will get you a refund. It happened to me 25 years ago. I just refused to pay. After several minutes, they let me go after I paid the normal cost of the beer.

This info is from 10 years ago. If you need to go to a ping pong show, go to the upstairs bars on the main street which has the "king" or "queen" name. Avoid the ping pong bars on the side street.

There's no real rip off bars in Nana and Cowboy, just high prices.

Never been to Pattaya's Playgirl bar which promises sex shows. I am assuming it's like the ping pong bars in Phuket. I was told that under Thai law, all prices must be posted. When I entered a ping pong bar in Phuket, normal prices were posted on the menu. But I read the fine print. Those prices were for the second drink. I turned over the menu, and the prices for the first drink were listed. The first beer was 20 something dollars. I believe you can't complain because the prices were listed. Plus the prices were not crazy, just ridiculously high.

And also budget friendly.[/QUOTE]Long time ago there were lots of scams. I have seen personally a westerner beaten up by 4 Thai on the street. Not sure what is the reason. Unless you start being physical nobody will beat you up.

As others have said scams are about drink or good prices you order. When you order they will bring a check and place it in a container. Smart thing to do is check pay right away and do not run a tab. More you drink more drunk you get and become a target. If you buy a drink for the girl ask how much first. There is reputed bars who are good, however sometimes it is the waitresses who scam you not giving you the right change. You are in a foreign country and do not get drunk. Entertainment places are packed with hustlers although thais are generally very nice.

If you read through the forum you will get lots tips about what not to do.

He probably negotiates in Thermae, fails and then goes on the Chinese version of this forum to complain about westerners inflating prices.

As we all know, your age goes north and your teeth starting to go south, can someone please recommend a good cosmetic dental center in Bangkok or Pattaya based on experience? Thanks.

I see some of the beer bars from Queen's Park Plaza on Sukhumvit Soi 22 and set to close are relocating to a new beer bar complex on Sukhumvit Soi 7 right before Beer Garden.

I think Rumors Bar was the biggest one at the old location and already has a sign up in the new location. It might be open for business sometime during the evening already. It was hard to tell this afternoon.

I only had 1 decent (acceptable) experience with a girl I barfined from a bar in that Queen's Park Plaza complex out of a half dozen tries over the past few years. And the second time I took her it was abysmal. Yet she continued to pester me for a third try every time I passed through that complex for the next few years.

YMMV at the new location of course. My MMV at the new location, too, I suppose. We'll see.

[/QUOTE]Ha ha. So moving the bar won't be much help. I never had any good experiences on Soi 22 area either, and not much talent seen. June at Bongkot was my only Soi 22 girl.

Maybe someone can tell us the spots on Soi 22 with better quality girls.

Okay Old crowns and old fillings can still be a problem. Don't eat anything hard crunchy.

I have not set aside the money to fix my discoloured teeth (probably caused by Tetracyclines at a young age) and crooked teeth but it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than in a western country.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]In Pattaya, it would probably be best to go to the Dental Centre at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital on Sukhumvit Rd.

Also, the Pattaya International Dental Centre (PIDC) on Soi Buakhao corner of Soi Honey could be okay. Kev in Thailand picked up a set of new choppers there and recommended it.

Maybe some drop offs or some new faces from this area. And there is always the possibility that the bars and the girls who do work there will have to up their game in order to compete with many more beer bar (and go-go bar) options in the immediate Soi 7 area than they had on Soi 22.

I've stayed at Queens Park hotel on Soi 22 many times from 1999 until now. 20 years ago, there were some decent girls in Washington square, but I can't recall any girl in those soi 22 bars that I would say was anything great.

It seemed the right place for such a calculation; more expats, regulars and repeat customers in that Soi 22 location away from the more touristy centers and all. But it only turned out to be that way the 1 time.

And not that the girls were all homely. I could find some cuties there. In fact, one of the girls I used to take from that area had been an all nude go-go dancer in Crazy House during its first 2-3 year heyday. And she was hot. I didn't count her in this particular discussion because I first met her and started taking her fairly regularly when she was still working in Crazy House. So I didn't consider her a Queen's Park Plaza find. I guess she would have been that for someone else who didn't know her from before though.
