bus or taxi
Just thought I'd mention it.
I've used the swagman bus to travel from AC to Manila. It cost 600 PHP, that's about 12 USD.
We were about 15 guys in the bus, so that's a 180 USD turnover for swagman not so bad. Especially since the buses are 30 years old and are in very very bad condition.
Clearly those buses would not be fit for usage in western europe, even after expensive work. Those buses are good for the junkward.
The suspension are in terrible condition, each time there is a bump you are afraid it's going to break.
I believe we are at risk when using those buses. I would not use it again unless they invest on more recent buses, let's say I'd be ok for 20 years old ones in ok condition.
It's in my opinion irresponsible from swagman to make people travel in those buses.
Premium prices, but low end buses.
Is there any other bus service because this one isn't recommanded at all!
Escort,
There are public bus that you can take, the PI rabbit every 30 min from avendia bus stations near chinatown 125 peso take about 2 hr, they go to dau bus stations first and then to angeles bus station, they can drop you off at corner of field and Mcarthur hwy or you can just get a taxi about 1800 peso, there are another bus company from EDSA this are big bus seat 50 people never full also old bus.
Fast Eddie 48
Well I caught Herpes. I'm not worried as herpes will be gone in a week and will be just a bad memory and as it's the most common STD (read that about 20% of the americans have it) and it doesn't really have side effects or anything.
My understanding is herpes II is incurable, and you retain the ability to transmit it to others. They told you this didn't they?

http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/STDFact-herpes.htm
Yes sir! They did. But what can I do about it?
Condoms aren't enough to stop it. You can pass it on a simple towel exchange.
However "On an annual basis, (MF having unprotected intercourse), transmission risk from infected female to male is approximately 4-5% annually.
That means: 1/ I'm fucking unlucky and should play bingo tomorrow! (I got it from a "single" encounter)
(.) the transmission risk of HSV-2 from infected male to female is approximately 8-10%.
That means: if I BB daily 100 women for a year (yeah I know I'll need viagra), that's 36 500 BB incourses, I'll have infected 8 to 10 women at best (erm mean worse! ).
If 20% of the americans carry herpes, (guess that's higher in "this" community as we are hyper active with multi partners), so maybe among american ISG'ers the rate is 30%, imagine how often a bar girl is exposed to Herpes virus
However from my understanding you can only transmit it when you are in a "crisis", when the virus 'wakes up'.
If you also read very carefully info about herpes, most people have been silently infected, don't know they are, and can transmit it too at some point of time!
BTW the 'crisis' is over and I'm back to my life and putting this behind! Even though I'm not in the mood to fuck anyone at the moment.

Erm, thats swagman, that's the only I'm talking about with the very old bus in a very bad condition.
Seriously I don't know where you are from, I know Swiss is a bit extreme country for security, but do you think in your country a bus in that condition would be fit for anything else than the junkyard?

Southern Cross
Is there any other bus service because this one isn't recommanded at all!
I'll second the recommendation for the Southern Cross. I rode it from AC to Manila once. Very comfortable, almost TOO chilly from the aircon. If I recall they sell soft drinks and beer, but I mostly just slept.
-
I second to this
Southern Cross shuttle bus is about a year old, leaving their hotel @ 3:30 pm each day. They also sevice Subic from AC.
I have only been using between AC and Subic for 500PHP. The bus is air con and comfortable. You can buy drinks kept in ice. Seats are limited compared to route busses. I never counted but maybe between 20-30 so for a big group there might be need for advance booking. Typically anyway bus ticket is recommended to be bought in advance from selected hotel travel agents previous day and not before. To Subic bus leaves 8:45 in front of Orchid Inn and 9am in front of Brass Knob. It departs 11am from Wild Orchid Subic.
Well I caught Herpes: ((don't laugh guys can happened to everyone).
That's one of the bad aspects of being a sexual tourist in the third world.
As forrest said "STD's are like a box of chocolate you never know why one you're going to get."
Oh well I'm 40, and that's my frist STD ever, can't complain, it's just a bad week ahead of me, taking the pills. I'll get a full checkup when I go back to Switzerland next week.
For the safe sex police, know you can catch herpes even by fucking with a rubber!
On a side note didn't get it in Angeles, I got it either in Manila (probable) or in Phuket or in Pattaya.
It's never easy to talk about such things, but if that post can be helpful to others. I'm not worried as herpes will be gone in a week and will be just a bad memory and as it's the most common STD (read that about 20% of the americans have it) and it doesn't really have side effects or anything.
So if you guys got a STD or a any medical problem go to:
AUF Medial Center, that's Angeles University hospital.
It's quite big.
I walked to ER, then I explained my problems. Immediatly I was given a paper to go see a doctor, I had to wait for like 10'. Then the visit, hard to judge the quality of the doctor as identifiy a first time herpes crisis doesn't exactly require a nobel prize winner, but he got the job done and made his prescription. Cost 500 PHP.
Then the hard part, the medecine are EXPENSIVE, there is one pill I must take 4x a day, called ZOVIRAX, which cost 200 PHP per tablet! That's 800 PHP per day, so 8, 000 PHP for my ten days treatment! Plus there were others. Ouch!
Once again, don't want to act like a spoiled child, a week of treatment and this will be behind me, it's nothing compared to the misery some people have here, so need to stay decent, just giving the information for other sex tourist (who isn't a sex tourist in AC.), who might encounter a similar problem.
On the bright side, my doc, said he often has foreigner with STDs, in angeles he said herpes isn't so common, however Gonorrhea is!
For you infos Gonorrhea is a bacteria, herpes is a virus.
EDITOR'S SUGGESTION: [blue]This is interesting, but you might consider re-posting it under the Safe Sex topic in the Special Interests section of the Forum where it will benefit the Forum Members who are specifically looking for this type of information. Thanks![/blue]
You may find that the herpes repeats itself, usually at time is stress. This can be on the dick, or on the lips sometimes. Zovirax comes in ointment form. Always good to keep one of those in your toolkit. Available from Mercury Drugs... yes not cheap, but keeps future outbreaks at bay nicely.

Thanks![/blue]
Herpes is incurable. It's only treatable. The first outbreak is almost always the worst though. After your initial outbreak you mostly will have only one to two sores at an incident. It isn't as bad as it sounds though but I still wouldn't wish it on anyone. Some people never have outbreaks ever and are just mainly a carrier, but some have frequent outbreaks so it's only your luck which one you are.
American Stats: According to my doctor, 1 in 5 Americans have some form of herpes and 90% of those people don't even know they have it. Since condoms only cover the shaft and most of the sores occur at the base of the shaft and surrounding areas on a male and on the outer lips of a female, a condom does help but definitely doesn't prevent the spread. Herpes has 2 main forms that occur in two main areas, but you can also spread it to your eyes, nose, etc. Just think next time you kiss a girl at home, if she has a cold sore, she just may have given you herpes. (a cold sore can be herpes).

buses to AC
Guys … it is really quite easy and cheap to get to AC from the Manila airport.
1- As you exit the airport after clearing customs, go outside and turn to your left. There is a kiosk where you pay for a taxi in advance. Tell them you want to go to the Pasay bus terminal. It should only cost ≈250 php (US$5)
2- There are 5-6 different bus companies that travel between Pasay and AC. It really doesn’t make any difference which bus line you use as they are mostly all air conditioned, and reasonably comfortable and take around 2 hours. So, when you arrive at Pasay just walk into the terminal and ask anyone where is the next bus to Dau (AC). You almost never have to wait more than 10-15 minutes. All of these buses cost ≈140 php (less than US$3).
3- There will be multiple stops within Manila but after you get outside of town and onto the North Luzon Expressway, then it is only another 45+ minutes.
4- When you arrive in Dau just get a trike and they will take you directly to your hotel. Depending upon which hotel you shouldn’t pay any more than 100-150 php (US$3).
Guys, it really doesn’t get any easier than this and it is quite safe and pretty comfortable.
Yes sir! They did. But what can I do about it?
.
You could consider not having sex with anyone else again unless they also are infected..
CDC mentions some psych stress associated with this. I believe the reasoning goes like this:
If you have open lesions, no one will want to have sex with you.
If you tell anyone you have Herpes II no one will want to have sex with you.
See, people who do not have Herpes II might prefer to keep it that way.
If you meet someone you want to spend a lot of time with, do you tell them? If you don't eventually you may infect them. They may wonder how they got infected.
If you hide your lesions, they may wonder why you hide.
If she gets pregnant she will have tests and they will inform her she is infected. Herpes II is dangerous for newborns.
Herpes I (or Herpes Simplex aka cold sores) is related, but not the same as Herpes II. But no one wants to get that either.

Yup, I usually take Victory Liner but it doesn't matter which bus as long it's going to Dau.

Sorry to state the obvious, but if you really want to go to AC, you have to get off the bus at DAU!!!!!!!
There is no Angeles city stop.

Swagman bus Complaint...
I am not one to say bad about another member here but I think "Escort Fan" has clearly lost his mind where he is. Is there anything really safe here in the Philippines? If you want safe maybe hire a United nations envoy to "escort" you in safety.
We all come to Philippines to have fun and "take the go with the flow" mentality when we are here. Hotels, bars, Taxi, airplanes, busses, trikes, and yes even the girls all have a degree to unsafe measures. For if you want safety you pay a little more. Take the bus from AC to Manila. The odds are in your favor that you will get to your destination at Swagman for as little as $12. The way the taxi drive or hired driver drive. You have alot more safety and survival rate on a beat up bus if you get in accident.
