That's a shame to hear. I loved the facilities at Rio Antigo. Last time I was there (May 2009) the selection was pretty weak but the facilities remained great.

Any time a higher profile Terma closes it is bad for the market, IMHO, as it means less supply / less competition. This inevitably impacts the remaining T's -- when demand is relatively constant, and there's less supply, price goes higher.

I thought Monte Carlo was always closed on sunday's. The only terma open on sunday's is L'uomos. At least that is the way i remember it. But still the entire closing thing Sucks.

Your statement could be read to mean that Mabs has gone out of business. I heard that Mabs was closed for renovations and would reopen under new management in a few months. Did you hear that Mabs was gone for good?

Good point. I don't know that any of them (with the exception of Help) are gone for good. I have asked a couple of cab drivers about Mabs but they didn't know. So maybe it is just renovation, but in Rio that can take a long time.

Day 8 – Friday Slumming in Copa

No, it is definitely open on Sundays but not after July. Seems like it was not a number of years ago, but I can't remember. It may come back when high season gets here. Also, for anybody interested, last time I checked, Centauras was open on Sunday, too.

Your guess is on the mark. VM is slated to be razed and become a station for the new fast train from Sao Paulo. Additionally a modern park has been designed to be built on the spot. No word on 85 yet. ;(
