Also, let's discuss a bit how best to handle a situation like this. Just pay? Don't carry cash so you had to go outside to ATM where you could make a run for it or a scene? Just wait it out calmly like that other guy reported a few months ago? Call the police on your cell, if only to put everyone on notice that there's a record of such a call.

I suppose if it were me talking at 1000 feet, I like the combination of call the police and wait it out. Even if the police are bought off by or are afraid of the mafia or just don't care, they certainly do care if anything ugly happens, and the proprietor doesn't want that trouble either, as it's bad for business. Plus, at least you're with a supportive witness with your friend. I suppose if you were alone, it would be much dicier. I suppose I would also consider the agree-to-go-to-ATM ploy, though executing it would be scary stuff. All of which is to say, I would sure as f*ck be hard pressed to fork over that sort of cash in such a scam. I've been shook down for $10 before where I choked down my anger and complied, (a) because it's chump change and (b) I felt I had none of the options mentioned above, since I was doing something illegal, trying P4P in USA.

Anyways, went to Dolce Vita club on a rainy afternoon. I was pretty much they only man in the joint. Also, I was by myself which is not good. Anyways, two girls come over to my seat and ask for drinks. I buy them a drink each which I am getting to wonder how much this will cost. Then one does a sexy dance with all clothes next to me. I ask for my bill and it was around $800 USD. I can't believe my fucking mind. My options are try to fight my way out by myself. Bouncer is covering the exit. I decide to charge my credit card since I had no choice. I thought of calling the police but I don't know if they would have done anything. I am sure the Mafia is involved. As I am walking to my hotel room two girls approach me and ask me to join them for a drink in the restaurant at top of hotel. Do not do this shit! It is also a fucking scam.

Bottomline. Women in Budapest are fucking Nagyon Szep (very pretty) but I recommend jacking off to some good Hungarian porno and go to Germany's FKK clubs for some cheaper action and you can get some good GFE experience.

I'm going to Budapest I think in the middle half of January 2007.

I was in Budapest recently and took a taxi from the airport into the center, I stayed at the LeMeridien. You can take a shuttle that I believe runs all night long. The cost is about 39000 Hungarian Forints (round trip) or about $20 USD. From what I am told most taxis will try to get much more from you for a ride into the city.

It's unbelievable somebody from this forum still falls into this scam. There have been tons of warning against Doce Vita here, and the US Embassy even officially put it on a black list [url=http://budapest.usembassy.gov/tourist_advisory.html][b][u]here[/u][/b][/url] (link already given tens of times in this forum).

Sadly, in a few days, this post will be pushed down by new ones, and new members will fall into the trap again. Seems like everybody wants to warn others about the scams, but nobody took the time to read....

You know that you can put a stop on the credit card transaction? I'd suggest that you contact your cc provider and ask them to do so because you were a victim of crime and was forced to sign. I know something similar that has happened to others and they had the cc transaction reversed. Your provider should do this without to much hassle, though it would be helpful if you filed a report with the local police.

Charlie H, reading your posting gave me a good laugh, but what do you expect when you phone some crap escort agency out of a hotel magazine and drive all around town with some cabbie you don't know.
