Not impossible for him to get a visa on his own. An American in Piter gave me good advice on how to get thru the visa process.

As long as your boy can show gainful employment in Russia, the ability to pay his way, part ownership in a flat or even better a child, he stands a good chance of getting a visa.

Brought a RU girl to California a couple of years back and these were the requirements used to qualify her for entry.

Still in the interview the American consulate did attempt to trick her with questions.

Absolutely critical the applicant say they know no one in the USA and have a good reason for travel and will stay at a hotel.

The others concerns are spot on for potential problems. You do not want responsibility for anyone entering plus saying he has friends will probably disqualify him immediately.

No Sasha isn't related or a close friend. He's also NOT a complete stranger, he was my translator in 2006, and his mom helped me with ALL of my specifics this year. Without her help, I would've had to make all arrangements on my own, which for certain things would have been extremely hard if not impossible. So I owe the guy. Also, I will need her help again in 2008, so I don't think its to my own benefit to turn Sasha's request down cold. I will need to explain to him the reasons why I can't do what he wants.

Asking him to pay me ANY money is silly, he ain't got it.

Sure he has a job there, but its small change. Not enough to qualify his certain return. He doesn't own shit. He's only 22. He rents a room in a flat.

I have no clue what he plans to say in his interview, but I'm sure it will all be bullshit. If he doesn't say that I invite him as his friend, then who is he going to say that I am? I also don't know how he'll be able to show that he can pay his own way. He's not a bum or a beggar, but he's not Trump either. That's why he wanted me to guarrantee that I'll be responsible for all his expenses. Fuck that shit.

Guaranteeing to pay for all expanses sounds an awful lot like marriage. Brings back painful memories.

If he gets creative and full of bullshit why not try the student visa direction. Even if its only 6-12 months he can establish he is reliable with the US Gov and have a better shot at another longer-term visa.

Plus he would have the chance to romance the many dimwitted American women that oh so love foreign men. He might get lucky and get to educate some lucky housewife on the Russian man’s guide to marriage. LOL…….

You are personally responsible and will pay 100% of ANY medical/Hospital bills that your friend incurs during his visit, if he is unfortunate enough to get sick or have an accident. You will be personally responsible to pay any court, damage or legal costs that he might incur. You will be personally responsible for the costs of finding him and deporting him - yes the airplane and court costs - should he decide the other than the girls, the good old USA looks better than bumfuck SSR. None of the above may happen and he has a great holiday - but if any of them do you will be paying and the girls in the otherland will really miss Bez's trips for the next several years while he recovers.
