There were three separate reports in the "Redhanded" column (on page 2) of the Egyptian Gazzette within the last fortnight relating to prostitution in Egypt - two about police raids on houses where sexual activity took place in exchange for money while the third was about the murder of a regular client by two wgs after he failed to pay them for a night of passion amounting to 200 Egyptian pounds. This proves that there is business to be transacted if only one knew where to go as well as that it's a high risk activity in Egypt. Apparently the owner of one of the houses found business through sending videos via mobile phones while the ladies working there had both Arab as well as Russian sounding names. If anyone knows any more can they please post.

I (European, late 20's) was actually looking forward to my stay in Egypt (will be for at least a couple of months, starting in a couple of weeks) also because I thought I would have lots of fun like I do in Europe- giorls and party every weekend. Having read many posts in this forum I'm beginning to think I'm either going to be sitting around by myself most of the time or I'll have to find someone longterm to settle with for the time being...maybe a maid in my furnished apartment:-)

However, I do not only have fun-related questions to start off with. For instance, I was planning to update my wardrobe especially in the "suits for hot climates" section. Can you guys here give me hint whether I should get everything here and take it with me or can I save lots of money doing that in Cairo? I am looking for designer attire, not something sewed together in a backroom of some shop or something:-)

Next issue is the housing:

Soemone told me to get a furnished appt. im Zamalek. Now how is that part of town concerning our mutual hobbies?? Is it far from the places mentioned here: Maadi and the pyramid bars at Giza(?)

Will ist be safe to take girls to the appt. if I tip my security guard well and regularly?
How about western pros in Cairo? No chance?

Then there is "brands for less"- it is an outlet for clothes produced in Egypt but manufactured for export. It is located in Zamalek so that will be easy to find hopefully.

Shame the forum is kindda dead- would have hoped for more mongers in Egypt.

Hello, Hardplayer. Welcome to Cairo.

It sounds like you’ve already commited to living in Zamalek. So many expats do. I guess that means I’ll have you as competition at the Marriott. Good luck. I won’t be here much longer, anyway. About time for my company to move me onward. Probably to SE Asia.

I haven’t purchased much in the way of clothing here. But you’ll find lots of men’s clothing stores and tailors. The quality, cost and style vary widely. I’m more of a Timberland kind of guy but had some nice suits made for me in Hong Kong. I only wear them if really necessary. Depending on your business here, you may find you need to be “formal” quite often. Despite my casual attire, I do wear a tie almost daily. Beats me why, in the desert, the men tend to wear ties and jackets so often.

The good side of that is the women take a lot of pains with their appearance, too. I’ve decided I like the Muslim head scarf: it outlines the face and accentuates the beauty. You’ll see a lot of variety in how it’s worn, though.

You’ll pay your bawab (doorman) every month but I think it’s a good idea to give him a bit extra when you invite a lady over. If there’s a problem, he’ll be your best friend with the authorities. I’ve invited several ladies into my apartment without a problem but only non-pros. Maybe I’m paranoid but I figure a pro might try to visit sometime when I’m not there. Sure you have a doorman/security guard but you spent more on dinner last night than he earned last month so he’s bribable.

On that subject, while you can give him an extra tip, don’t go overboard. Your neighbors will hate you for it.

Not a whole lot of mongering to do in Cairo. But the action IS there. You just have to be patient and look for it. And decide what you want. Pros here tend to be on the heavy side as Arab men tend to like them that way. Head off to Sharm elShiekh for a weekend on the beach and that’s where you’ll find western pros. Well, Eastern European, actually. Quite expensive, though. $150 or more ST!!!

There’s some small time action to be had in Alexandria but it’s really hard to find. The rest of Egypt is pretty barren in my experience. Of course, I’ve only been here a couple of years. And being an older guy, I don’t get as involved as I used to. As for the Sudanese girls at the clubs in Maadi? I’ve seen one or two real beauties there. Mostly not worth as second glance.

If your apartment comes with a maid/housekeeper, you might want to try and hire your own. Look for a Filipina or Sudanese – they know what you want and they might be a whole lot more attractive than that 60 year old woman you’re about to inherit. However, be warned, if you fire the housekeeper you inherit, everyone else in the building will think poorly of you. It’s a tough life.

It is a shame you're leaving, judging from your post I'm sure we would have had some fun in the city. I'm sure SE Asia is much less challenging in terms of women and you'll have lots of fun there.

Just returned from a 5 days trip to sharm el sheikh and 2 days trip to cairo. Well. As for mongering didn't find any pros in sharm el sheikh. We met two russian girls there so we spent a cool time with them. They are regular girls not pros. We asked some guys working in sharm about finding pros in sharm but no one helped us because the answer was always "I don't know"! But it was nice when we met the two russian girls. At the nigh life we went first to the mariott since its closer to our safir hotel. We first went to the casino as we read in some posts that action could happen there. But nothing happened. We went to the garden we find 90% are arab torrists others from other countries ut didn't see any local girl there. We took two shots at the bar then we got bored then we returned to the hotel. Next day we went to the hard rock cafe at grand hayat. Just some arab youth. And group of egyptian boys and girls sounds like friend and some other torrists from other countries. Last hope for action. Mr taxi driver:) we took a taxi the driver was nice. He suggested us to go to club africanna we said no. Because we don't like black girls (sorry no offence) he took us to a cabaret at haram street the place was not classy just egyptian perverts having some stupid joking with the waitrsses working there. I didn't feel comfort because she will finish work at 6: am in the morning it meens I should stay 4 hours drinking till she finish. The ppl are nice and friendly. But for mongering. Its not worse visiting.
