To avoid ID or Passport details to Hotels..!
Hi KT:D
I think you are referring to the Sea View Hotel, which is at the end of Sea View Avenue, exactly opposite to Luciana Hotel (on the Land Side)
The guy at the reception will give you a book to write your details and just pick-up your ID/Passport and act as if you are giving true details.
They wouldn't even bother reading the details. Also they will not give you an invoice, but that’s ok.
AC room Cost is 2500/- & Non AC 1700/- (You could keep till the following day 12noon.)
Rooms are not to the Standard of Luciana, but if you are looking for a place to avoid giving your true details; then this is the best I feel.
[Blue]If you are Looking for a place out of Colombo[/Blue] ([red]Wattala Area[/red])
There is a Hotel on the Hunupitiya Road. The road connects Kiribathgoda and Wattala.
Just drive from Handala junction on the above road and you will not miss this hotel. (Name sounds like Aurouta [red] not sure [/red] ) There is a big billboard.
If you drive in with a Girl, the security guard will guide you to park at the rear parking space and you could enter into the hotel through the rear door.
A young guy will come and ask for the payment of Rs:800/- Just give him 1000/- and tell him to keep the balance. (Just say that you need for a short stay & you don’t have the ID.)
That’s it..! All yours..! No ID / Passport will be asked after that..!
Note-1: Remember to take your own Condom, bugger charged me 400/- for a cheep one
Note-2: The guy would say AC room is better, but the AC would never cool the room. So, rather take a NON AC room
Hope this helps.
Regards
Runner72 :)
You are right TB but some ask you to fill the details and don't bother to check.
I remember one such hotel that was named last week here.

General Discussion - Places of Interest
Hello everyone,
Sorry for being silent for a while, I have been busy with work and didn't have any time to have dreams of interest. This post is also not a report but simply my input to some of the recent discussions.
As for places where you can hide your real identity, I agree with D Earth's point. The safest bet is to give your actual details and use only places that are registered with Tourist Board. These places are unlikely to get raided. Avoid dodgy places even if they are economical, save up and use a place with decent standard and you'll like the peace of mind.
As for hobbyists who don't want to reveal true identity at all, I recommend a place I used to visit sometime back. I haven't been there in a while so can't really comment about the present status. The place's name is "Lihiniya Sea View", its down hotel road in mount lavinia. Go past St. Thomas' college and you'll come across a three-way junction (no pun intended hehe), continue towards the Mt. Lavinia hotel direction for a short distance then you'll see a sharp turn to your right (you'll see a small three wheeler stand there), about 100 feet down from this turn, you'll see Lihinia Sea View to your right. They have parking at the entrance or at the back. I suggest parking at the back. Walk in as if you've been there before, smile, casual greeting then you are in the zone. Ask for room 24 or 25, they have refurbished bathrooms and generally second floor rooms are better than first floor. The best is to call ahead and reserve a room. Since this place is not advertised in general media I will refrain from posting the phone number, but feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to share it with you. As for anyone without PM, I feel I've given clear directions to find it yourself. Back to the original point, they WILL ask you to sign in with their register with the basics. Name/address/nic/signature. Put whatever, they will not check your ID or ask for passport. At that time an A/C room was 1750. 00. A room boy will guide to your room, tip the fellow with 100 bucks or something and he'll keep an eye out for your needs. Rooms have their own balcony, be sure to lock that door and the windows as well and cover the curtains before having your dream.
Hope everyone is having a nice time, enjoy and stay safe. Regards to all,
SL-E
