Bangkok Hotels

This Hotel is right next to Foodland. Easy walk to Asoke BTS, MRT or Soi Cowboy.

Got a special at Wotif for 3 nights and under 3200 Baht per night including all taxes, fees, etc. And Including be / F. Has long table bar on floor 25 near the pool with magnificent city views and seating areas. Be / F was good standard. Particularly nice coffee. Be / F closes at 10 AM unfortunately so set the alarm. LOL. If you miss, take be / F at Foodland.

I seem have been upgraded from medium large room as room was huge with large kitchen lounge and dining area separate from bedroom. Sep Shower and bathtub. Small laundry with washer and dryer attached. Floor to ceiling windows. Balcony. I think its probably hard to beat this for value. Perhaps Grand Mercure can be slightly cheaper when on special. However Column is slightly superior, especially for views.

I did not use the pool this stay. Its either round or octagonal so not best shape for laps. Otherwise good. It did not look really deep in case you have Thai girls that do not swim too good.

At Illusion Heart: I can WARMLY recommend the Evergreen Laurel Hotel. It's in North Sathorn (Soi Pipat) - if you get yourself an EVA AIR mileage card (free) you should get automatic upgrade to corner suite.

Corner suite is BIG bathroom with spacious shower, tub and double sink, toilet and bidet. Bedroom with TV, easychair and king size bed and sitting room with large TV, extra toilet, desk and sofa, chairs. Immaculately clean, good services, EXTREMELY dicscrete. I use Evergreen since. Well, since a long time.

I believe as a returning guest I get special prices, but you should be able to get a 3500 Baht stay 3 pay 2 day-deal.

They have dedicated smoking floors, wired and wireless internet free (fast). Water in the bathroom has the highest pressure I've ever seen in BKK and is actually HOT.

Breakfast and room order as well as lunches / dinners are terrific.

Evergreen has a gymn, pool and no package tourists / families. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Evergreen is absolutely girl friendly, as long as you do not "rock the boat" with noisy partying all night. One to three gals performing all-night service is pretty well alright and not additional fees apply.
The hotel(like most in BKK) however will want to see the girls ID card, so make sure she (or they) have one.

Actually the junior suite at Evergreen Laurel Hotel is within the price range I am looking for. Tempted to book. However. I have posted my temporary itinerary on Bangkok reports forum and am looking at a lot of walking along sukhumvit road and will be returning to hotel couple of times for short breaks during the day. Am on a limited time stay hence don't want to increase commute or time in travel. Guess Sofitel or Radisson are the closer ones I can consider. Thanks for your inputs once again.

Regards to the names of hotels I mentioned in my request post for inputs. I meant to say "The Continent" but posted the Contingent. Many members must be thinking whether a new hotel has come up. But it was plain silly of me. Apologies.

I will be going to Bangkok for 6 days for the first time in November.

I have already booked my first 3 nights at the Grand Mercure Asoke, I liked the good comments by Syzygies (I believe HE spoke about it).

You get a lot of square meters for a good price, also the location seems quite good within walking distance of Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza.

I have a couple of questions.

What are the swimming pool rules in this hotel? Does the pool close certain hours? Could I take a girl there around midnight or something for some fun time? I guess I always have to consider it is not private.

Is the hotel very girl friendly? What are the rules? Do they ask for a girl's I'd? Could I take two girls up to the room without issues?

And I'm doubting if I should also book the last 3 nights of my trip already at this hotel. Can I still easily book it once there? Or is it risky to get fully booked or get a lot higher prices? I was wondering if I should maybe spend 3 days there and 3 days in another hotel to enjoy some other scenery as well. Or will I be fully satisfied at this hotel anyways?

I was not asked for girl to show I'd. I did not take more than 1 girl to this Hotel, I believe. I forget now.

I have certainly shown up with 2 girls to Admiral Premier. They did not both stay the whole night.

I can't predict the Grand Mercure Policy if show up late at night with 2 girls, but you have only booked a room for 2.

Any one have any info on these two motels? Majestic Grande and Majestic Suites? They are both very close to nana plaza and parking area. I ll be in BKK late November and want stay close to nana street scene. Are these two motels GF? Also looking at Dawin Motel.

You can't be bothered to just read a few pages? Well, in late November Nana Plaza is closed for renovation. You need to look elswhere. I heard Soi 33 is the new place to go.

Can't confirm about the others from personal experience! Ibis Nana is too.

I like the Majestic Suites. Nice rooms. And yes, GF friendly.

Good reception staff and GF, but at night there are a few LB's hanging around just a few steps from the entrance to the hotel, so if you are picking FL's be careful unless you don't mind LB's. Majestic Suites does not have a pool, but I think you can use the pool at Majestic Grande even if you stay at MS (they have some arrangement).

In June I did a reconnaissance mission and took some photos for a friend. You do have access to the Majestic Grande's facilities.
