I don't understand what all the fuss about Thermae is about. It's a very strange place. A not very large room with some women linked up around the perimeter, and others around the bar in the middle. They are all just standing there, mostly motionless. Between them walk the men, around and around in circles trying to find somebody interesting and interested. In my case that was not possible. I found most of the women unattractive, and the few that were attractive seemed utterly disinterested in me. Maybe they are more interested in Asian customers, IDK.
And on prices I agree, Bangkok is really not a cheap destination any more. As somebody pointed out below, price-wise Bangkok doesn't have much advantage over Singapore anymore.
