Medellin Reports

Hey fellas,

I'm a native Spanish speaker and heading out to Colombia next week. I planned to go to Medellin, I had this crazy idea in my mind where I kept asking girls online to let me stay with them and I would pay them rent. Most of them said no except obvious working girls who obviously wanted a lot of money for the deal.

I talked to a woman in her 30's who lives in a small town near Cartagena (300 000 population). I propositioned to her and lowballed it offering her 800 k for the month all included (food, lodging, etc) and to my surprise she accepted for 900 k (even with sex included). We videochatted already and I was expecting a dump but she appears to live in a very nice place.

I do believe her she has never done it before because actual working girls always talk in a different way and would never accept such a low offer.

She is obviously not a smoke show. I would rate her a 6. My plan now is to land in Medellin and take a 8 HR bus to her city. I didn't meet her on a dating app, it was a cultural exchange app.

Am I being dumb? Am I just going to get kidnapped or robbed? I usually have good street smarts and a good sense for when people are trying to play me and it doesn't seem like she is. Keep in mind I'm the one who pushed for this.

I usually do this for free, so I don't see a problem with you giving the chick 900,000. Only part I would no way in hell do is an 8 hour bus ride. Surely there is a closer airport (Cartagena as you mentioned.).

How many kids does she have living there? Is it going to bother you to have sex with her when her mother, sister, grandmother, brother or kid sleeps in the same room?

I can understand wanting to do a cultural exchange vacation and you can probably get connected with people who have been vetted by contacting a local university. Trying to combine the cultural exchange with casual sex sounds like a bad idea.

What's in it for her? 900 k is basically a month of minimum wage in Colombia, minus the added expenses of feeding you and higher utility bills. If she does any kind of work, she's probably going to miss some work while you're there, which takes more away from the 900 k. So what's her motivation?

What are your contingency plans? There's so much that can go wrong. What do you do in 2 months when she tells you she is pregnant? What do you do if her ex shows up with several of his friends?

If it seems like a good idea to you, then go for it.

MDE chicas are better looking. 900 k / month for unlimited sex and free lodging sounds like a great deal, but what if the sex is wack and there's no chemistry between you two? You would've wasted an 8 hour bus ride. I think you should test drive before you commit an entire month to a chica.

There is a push now in Cartagena in this area, and paying rent, sex, moving from one place for another, may be used against you under the circumstances.

8 hours to me is almost nothing, and I hate flying.

In regards to the "trata de personas" that seems like quite an overreach. I'm going to be staying at her home and I'm younger than her, she seems like an average normal girl. We videochatted already and she knows for sure I'm not rich or a gringo. There are much better targets than me.

I think worse case scenario she takes my money upfront and then makes excuses telling me I have to leave, very unlikely bad case scenario is she wants to rob me of my belongings (not a lot of valuables but still).

I'm thinking of vetting her more in the upcoming week and then deciding last minute once I land in Medellin.

You're bound to meet many that you like!

This girl you've arranged to stay with has all the cards in her hands and you've got zero leverage. I'd recommend to just stay in Medellin and get an Airbnb. Why are you trying to stay with one girl the entire time? The girlfriend experience isn't worth that. You shouldn't really be traveling anyways if you can't afford the basic necessities. You got to go in with the attitude that whatever can go wrong, will go wrong and plan accordingly to mitigate these risks.

Finally took a flight from Bogota to Medellin this morning.

I enjoyed Bogota and Santa Fe, but man I'm glad to back walking the Plaza Botero again.

Saw and chatted with a handful of previous amigas and met a few newbies.

The girl of the day was a 19 year old beauty fresh from Caracas.

When she took her clothes off, I was looking at about as perfect as a body can be, for my tastes anyway.

Young, nubile, petite and very willing, LOL.

Now she tells me that I'm her novio, LOL.

For those that say they can't find anything good out in Centro are either way pickier than me, are blind, or lost, LOL.

Saw a handful of gringos out today as well.

There's a pack of like 8 older gringos, that the girls tell me live in el Centro, going around asking all the girls for no condom sex.

The girls I hang with say "no way Jose", LOL, but I'm sure they find willing chicas, with the desperation out there.

They're just making a name for themselves is all.
