The reason which I assume that our fellow monger "Royal Lover" didn't report on his HIV reports because the test for HIV is done through blood analysis which takes few days to complete so bare with him and he might update us.

In the custom of sharing, I will tell you how I personally do it and hopefully other silent members will benefit for my experience.

I always get tested for STDs every time I come to Egypt and give myself time for 2-3 weeks since the last sexual encounter. (Because there are certain STDs that won't show up than soon, some even claim that you must have another test following it by 2-3 months!

First, I go to certain hospitals or clinics beforehand and I always have an honest discussion with the doctor regarding my sexual history and the good thing is, doctors don't judge you, they just want your well-being and they always advise you to keep safe and avoid having multiple sex partners. Anyway, the doctor does an initial examination to check for any bacterial infections then you get a recommended list of tests. The doctor asks you to visit again after the results are out but you can always ignore him as the results are easy to read and if they are all negative, well, you are safe. (for now!

Secondly, I use "El Borg" laboratory and give a fake name. They have a good system where you don't even have to go to the lab to take your results. They give you a user name / pass which you can get your results online on your due date.

I usually undergo two tests, one of which is blood test (for HIV mainly) and the other is digital rectal exam. (The reason why I fucking hated unprotected sex from the first place) In the digital rectal exam, the doctor has to check your prostate for abnormalities and he does it by sticking a finger in your lower rectum and keep massaging till he gets a minor sample of pre-cum which he will take for further bacterial analysis. Though it sounds gross but the doctor keeps it very professional and it is better to keep safe than sorry.

These are the two tests that I usually do which are prescribed by doctors, there might be more or none depending on your case, so don't take my word for granted and go see a doctor. (I am not a doctor and I won't take any responsibility if you did those exams only without a doctor supervision).

I don't to discourage anybody, but if you feel that there is even 1% probability that you might be infected, please get tested. If not for yourself, do it for your loved ones. If not for your loved ones, do it for your fellow mongers who you share your contacts with and will possibly hate the day they ever exchanged contacts with you.

I tested at El Mokhtabar. It was pretty simple and discreet as the place was almost empty (went at their Nasr City branch on Mostafa Elnahas). I filled*in*a form not giving my real name and typed in the tests I wanted done. They give you a username and password to check your results online the very next day. On their website it says they have an STD "package" which screens for most STDs but I didn't feel I need all of them so I just tested for those two.
