I am not sure it will get there in thailand. One of my most disappointing thai trips was shortly after the king passed. I hesitated on going but thought with all the earlier closures and tourist numbers down the supply and demand curves would work in my favor, total fail. Selection wasn't a problem at all, but there was movement at all on prices or service. In fact in a lot of ways I think it was worse since with the bars closing at midnight I was there at close and the girls wouldn't negotiate worth a shit, not even on 500 thb. Due to the shortened hours they pushed drinks heavy and then got all sorts of pushbacks, only ST, only NANA hotels, wouldn't come down from 3 k to 2500, list goes on. It was all in all just annoying and got on my nerves, probably went home alone more than any other trip. I think it was best explained as thai economics. Instead of the normal supply and demand curves as demand falls prices go up since the girl is only going to get 1 customer every 3-5 days instead of 1 every day and treats her pussy as a resource that is going to wear out and can be held for future use. We all know that age and that missed night is one less in their total working life to earn, but that just isn't the thai mindset.
Where I would expect to see it is in the part timers first since they are more tuned into earning now since it can't be earned tomorrow, so maybe the FL, wechat, and thermae part timers will see the opportunity first.
Interesting observation and I share it. I was here before and after the King died and I did not notice one iota of improvement in the Value For Money ratio while doom, gloom and lower punter traffic prevailed for many months, even years.
I sometimes seriously wonder if any but a tiny fraction of these girls are in the P4P business for the usual storied reasons of "desperation" for financial support, milk for their babies, get mom out of the hospital, blah, blah, blah. I don't mean anyone should ever have taken that crap literally. But even as a tale for them to tell as a substitute for any other serious reasons for going the P4P route, it just doesn't add up.
By now I have heard hundreds if not thousands of "I must have (fill in the baht amount here) tomorrow or I'll die! Please, can I come see you today??" stories and variations of them. I used to work out ways to help IF this and that happened with no greater rate of memorable success in the bed at crunch time than I get with the girls who are so busy with customers it takes days for them to return a Line message.
And, of course, now that I almost never respond to those pleas of "tomorrow I will die!" anymore, every one of those "desperate" girls, old repeats and new contacts alike, are still alive and kicking days later, no reports of their death, starved babies, moms prevented from leaving hospitals for lack of payment or anything of the kind. No, they show up again just as before, no change in their life or routine, seemingly well fed and taken care of and no memory of me having casually chosen their death over seeing them for a P4P fuck and suck several days earlier.
Maybe this time it will be different. Eventually. But I am not planning on it and would honestly be shocked if it was.
The only difference I have seen or noticed so far after a few weeks of coronavirus hysteria downturn is Thai street girls bothering to engage in conversation a tad longer than usual with certain heretofore ethnic undesirables to them and a slight uptick in the number of "Hi. How are you?" Line messages I'm getting from my regulars.
But in no case in my experience at least are agreements to do more, do better and/or for less money being made either on the street, in the bars or among my regulars. Not in Thailand, that is. Not yet anyway.
