Back in April of this year, I started apartment hunting in Bello and found a brand new 3 bed /2 bath spot on a high level floor with 24 hour security, 2 swimming pools, indoor and outdoor gym, designated parking, and an amazing view of the mountains. It's a stone's throw away from Niquia metro station and Puerta del Norte mall, and walking distance to many local bars and restaurants. It took me about 3 months from picking the place to getting the official keys to it. Lots of financial, technical, and clerical paperwork that I will not bore you guys with. I first stayed in Bello back in 2016 and I loved it. I still enjoy El Centro, Laureles, Poblado, Envigado, etc. The further south you go presumably the 'wealthier and safer' it gets. Well, that's when I go north. I'll rather be the king of the north haha.

I just got back to the States a couple days ago after about a 4 week stay. I furnished my apartment within a week with all the essential appliances and furniture. Online shopping is the way to go, I bought almost all my stuff from Homecenter, Exito, and Fabricas Unidas. Almost everything was delivered within a few days, but there was some boutique and boogie stuff I bought in advance since I knew it will take 2-3 weeks to deliver. I'm trying to make my apartment looking straight off from Energy Living haha, even though I never stayed there, just read on this forum people raving about the place. My sofa arrived couple days earlier than my bed / mattress, so I had to bang a few girls on there and def broke it in multiple angles. It wasn't all too comfortable, but when the girls were going down on me and I look outside and see the amazing view from the balcony and the girl in front of me, that's the reason I love Medellin (and Bello).

One thing I found out through this process is that guess I have hidden talent in interior design, who knew? I showed pics and videos of my apartment to friends and family and some thought I hired a professional to decorate and furnish the place. Some paisa friends thought I was staying in a high rise in Poblado LOL. When I told them I'm in Bello, they couldn't believe it.

Anyways, I know this is not your usual report about the current scene of girls and pricing in Medellin, but if any of you want a little side adventure, come check out Bello! Go to Obrero for the nightlife, head to Las Cabanas for some great local and fusion food, take a stroll in Parque Bello, and wind down in Niquia.

BTW, owning an apartment out there makes me want to permanently move there sooner than I thought I would, hopefully before I hit the big 50 haha. Also, I almost reached my 183 limit within the past year in Colombia, and I thought that travelling in and out with 2 different passports could help with that. But I consulted with a lawyer and he said Colombian immigration might already know about my dual citizenship and can come get me as a tax resident. So I'm leaving my bachelor pad temporarily for now, but I'll be back soon! Cheers!

So right off the bat that was disappointing. There was no bed in the room just a mattress on the floor. The only good thing about it is the low price ($70 k + $50 k cop). You will do better other places.

And you are breaking the law even with an offer. Prostitution is "the person knowingly offers or agrees to pay a fee to another person for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct with that person or another."

I can see how women could so abuse this law with men. It is crazy.

I was talking to my gal hanging out in Colombia last week. It stuns me how more and more Americans are going to Colombia, and I asked her, "If we get married, am I a Colombian citizen? And she says yes.

Anyone who comes to Colombia can see the world does not come to an end when drugs are readily available and there are women who can be paid for sex. Why is the country with more people in prison than anywhere else looking to lock even more men up?

I will make my money in the USA, but the idea of having a place in Colombia where I could have fun is very appealing. I guess guys are going to have to start recording every conversation with women they have.

Can you imagine how much it would cost you if you got arrested for this in the Sex Prison? Land of the Free? Shiiit!

We drove around Bello in June I was looking around for newer bldgs to see if we could spot your bldg? We drove all the way up the hill where the apt complexes are and dead ends, I liked Bello.

I like the idea of living around locals not gringos, nothing against your choice, but you say you have a Panamanian passport, why not a nice condo in P city? Or Bogota?

I hear great things about Rio? What is it about MDE that made you choose it?

I must say my #1 dislike of MDE is its size, I consider it a pretty small city in a valley (I believe only 3-4 m?

I'm guessing great since you moved there but curious to see what stereotypes they have about Asians that might be different or the same as in the US and see if I could use any of those stereotypes to my advantage. You would know much more about it than me, but I consider Bello sort of the undiscovered gem of Medellin, or maybe a diamond in the rough although there is nothing "rough" about the area you described. The mall near you could be any upscale mall in Medellin. And you're so close to metro. I have less trepidation about going to Bello than some of my local girls I talk to, but they are going by reputation and not experience. I remember one time Soft Swirl was lolligagging around my hotel room and about to overlap with Secret, my next rendevous, and as soon as I told her Secret lived in Bello, she jumped up and got ready to leave quick, jajajaaja. I believe a lot if not most of the good drugs in Medellin pass thru Bello, but there are bad sections in most municipalities. I am apartment hunting again. Not quite ready to do the condo commitment, and I have a build going on a mountaintop at a snails pace 3 hours north of here, where Catgirl grew up. Sounds very "boogie" to hear I am "building a house in Colombia" but it is very humble by American standards, but very nice for the village it is in. Sort of a "big fish in a little pond" kinda thang. We will have Internet, and indoor plumbing, jeje. We are going to add a second story. The rate limiting step is getting building materials on site. Half the cost is transportation of building materials, and the treacherous windy mountain dirt road washes out frequently.

I would definitely consider Bello, even though it's on the periphery. Estadio is great for it's central location, 90% of my taxi rides are less than 20 mil COP, 70% are less than 10 mil COP. Very walkable around Avenida 70 but very touristy. I am liking Sabaneta and Envigado, too. But Bello is great. I avoid Poblado. Too pricey and too much like the USA. I want to feel as though I am living in Colombia and not some mountain city in the USA. I am by no means an expert on Medellin, yet. My total time here added up is still less than one year. People often tell me that it seems like I have been here much longer but I think that's just the monger in me. People fuck the same all over the world, jaajaja. Ostee Out.

You will most probably be a "tourist attraction" for most Colombians as it would be very rare for them to encounter Asians in Medellin.

With that being said, you will actually be a babe magnet, especially in El Centro, which could be very good in some ways.
