Well that was the standard procedure when I used to relay on hotels and outcalls. The hotel desk would call your room to tell you that you had a guest at the reception and ask you if you wanted her to go up, so you could say no and have her wait for you at the lobby. It is not a bad precaution to arrange that in advance with the reception desk, just in case.

Well I had a very nice trip to Lima, other than the 3-4 hours going through Immigration nightmare and the 2 hour one leaving.
