I introduced a friend to a woman I liked but never connected with. I had crossed her off as being too materialistic. I told him not to give her money. He was chatting her up for weeks before the trip. My gal talked to this new chica, and she said that the chica seemed nice. Later she also told me that she was afraid the chica may have been too materialistic as well.

They met and talked a long time. Guy felt sorry for her. She needed rent even though it is the middle of the month. She is living with her "brother" renting a room. I knew she is in the South living in like a level 3 apartment. She quoted him $330 for rent and he paid her. He even fought with me before hand, "I am going to give her something", he said when I recommended he pay her nothing. He paid a lot to go and see her and saw only her, and they did not even finish the deed.

We met after our trip, and he wanted to talk. When he told me about what he did, I groaned. He was saying that he might not see her again, and I told him, "Dude, she was probably not with her brother but her BF. " he was a little bummed and got quiet then. I tried to protect him from getting taken. I really did, but sometimes I knew, you just have to learn it on your own. As much as I tried, those doey eyed women and their damsel in distress ways were no match for me. I felt badly for him. I have been there.

Point is DC no matter how pure your intentions were (and mine were pure as can be), these chicas are going to screw over many Americans, and no matter what you say or do, you will be powerless to stop them. I just think that if you introduce Americans to Colombians, most will be itching to screw Americans over any way they can. I was his tour guide and I felt like I messed up. I just think you are going to be very disappointed when Americans get screwed over which is bound to happen.

The only way you can make this work is if you go over and over and over again with Americans to pay suggested prices. At least then when things go badly, you will not get the blame.

Are there any in or around Medellin that are active?

If he says he has met hundreds of women, he has. He took my model of getting seeking women and blew it up bigger and better than I ever did. I never had the time he had or the imagination to accomplish what he did, but in the end, things worked out for me. He is an impressive and cool person, no BS in him at all.

I used to carry a light rain jacket and a compact umbrella when it was likely to rain. Heavy rains and storms seem to usually hit late afternoon or early evening.

1. If you pay for "Tinder Gold" you can set your location to Colombia and people in your physical vicinity shouldn't see you unless their search criteria / distance includes Medellin. There are some exceptions and I've seen some locals slip through the cracks maybe they matched in the short period before I changed my location. This is also a great way to scout in advance.

2. Tinder gold also allows you to block people you know by phone number. You do have to give tinder access to your phone book to be able to do this on iPhone.

I admit that I'm being lazy. Not too long ago someone mentioned the lack of trail maps for Parque Arvi. I can't remember who it was and I didn't feel like searching. Besides, this might be useful for others.

You might try the GAIA GPS app. A friend of mine who is into hiking, mountain biking and camping recently mentioned the app. She says she is able to use it in airplane mode to minimize battery drain and still follow the trails. I just downloaded it to check it out and it appears to show all the trails in Parque Arvi, with distances, elevation and all the information you might need.

Thank you for that high compliment. I don't understand how I got here. At some point in the last few years I decided to discard imposed cultural mores and values and be open to all possibilities. I never had a plan. I went on a vacation about five years ago and the weight and negative energy that was expunged from my body compelled me to call in to my Fortune 100 See-Suite (fucking auto-editor) position and tell them, metaphorically, "Sell the house, sell the car, sell the kids, find someone else, forget it, I'm never coming back, forget it, I'm never coming back."

Around the same time my 16 year marriage was ending. I never strayed, never cheated, never touched another woman. Caught her 3-4 times but forgave her every time. Before my marriage, I was a mongerer and I figured what goes around, comes around and her infidelity was my comeuppance. That was before I stripped the artificial bullshit cultural, societal, religious mores and values out of my life. I remember laying in dank little hotel room with the mattress on the floor in one of those small hotels in the alleys of Walking Street in Pattaya thinking, "I wonder what it would be like to start fresh with no preconceived notions or idea about what a man at my stage of life is "supposed" to do. " I was already a proponent of teleological thinking so I let my brain do its job. Basically, I envisioned my happiest state and went where I felt compelled to go. I realize that probably reads as one of the biggest bullshit statements of all time, but it seems as though my entire life has been five year segments of me ending up in places I could not have imagined until I arrived. I never thought of myself as a hedonist but I can certainly see how on the surface that tag might fit and if it does I will own it. I would like to believe I am not that selfish but I really don't know for sure. Believe it or not, one of my central tenets is from Buddhism, "Desire is the source of all sadness and suffering" which is the opposite of hedonism. I am constantly trying to avoid desire, and live in the instant.

We have all done this.

Next topic. I do not know you but in 3 years or less I will know your name and where you are from since you will be in the news. Several countries have legalized prostitution and many countries it is illegal and do nothing about it. It is between a man and a woman. Except when a "middle man" aka pimp gets involved. Then it is largely considered human trafficking in sooo many countries. Your brainiac idea is to advertise that you are breaking the law and how to contact you (aka find you). While prostitution might be legal in Colombia, pimping or organizing sexual tourism is not. And I am pretty sure that the country you are from the laws are more strict in this regard. Basically a broader definition that will entrap you.

You have not even done step one on a business idea. Is it legal?

Legal issues? Not moving here. Anyway. I have the ability to bring many $'s and many tourists to Colombia. A group was here the last 6 days. The concierge people are happy to work with me. I love them. Saving mongers $ is not my primary focus. But I could. Probably was a waste of time to ask but you got to try! I did get an offer from some doctors to tag on medial tourism to my social media blasts in 3 months. Hi Elvis! Have you guys thought about the potential growth of tourism (4 normal people) that is coming to Colombia? It's soooo beautiful! I will still post more later.

Just got a friend request on my medellin account that smells like a scam. First they mention starting an adult Whatsapp group because "There are many single girls here who need good sex. You can participate here without spending any money. " It is in English but it does not say exactly where "here" is, all the privacy features are turned on so there is nothing but the name. I googled the profile photo and it came up on three other websites so obviously a faked profile photo. I would strongly advise anyone not to take the bait.
