In Philippines, it's best to skip the massage places. Go to the bars that have been recommended at ISG.

Two points of confusion for me.
1) GE was referring to this post below?
2) Mr. LDP, you do realize that the Philippines is NOT south of the equater, and therefore your water should be draining clockwise? Of course the oceans behave in a similar way. I've been swimming in Miami on Christmas Day, yet the southern Californian waters can be very chilly even in the summer time.

I am in Manila now, and I have to say that I would be disappointed if I had to walk more than 3 blocks without being propositioned at least once. I'm an older, average-looking, somewhat overweight man and all I have to do is walk outside the hotel and hang around for 10 minutes at dusk and the girl finds me. I suspect this is the same for most as I don't have any special charm or magic. How can you stay in Manila and NOT get laid?

Anyone know of a gym in the Makati area that you can use on a day pass? Any hotels got any fitness centers in them?

I guess part of that depends on what hotel you stay at. The place I stayed at before did not have many girls walking around it. But then I had one hanging on my arm, and keeping my attention also. So I may have missed some things! :D

free weights are ideal, but anything have way decent is ok. just something for a few days to get a decent all around workout. 300-500 pesos/day is ok. thanks

When I"m not using Dusit's on transit personally I liked Technofit they have dumbells (besides myself) but they have Cybex and Hammer Strenght. Haven't been there in a while however.

Most folks I know in the area just run to Golds.

... leaving the L out of Manila. Very appropriate;). LA Cafe may be the pits but its the best place for a casual visitor to meet a genuine amateur, shopgirl or student out to make a bit of extra cash. Don't believe what some will try and tell you - they do go there. You will also meet some of the most grizzled old pro's to be found in Manila. They flock there in droves also.

Just remember to take your respirator (if you are a non-smoker).
