Check info
I been to about 23 country's and this is the first place that I could not buy a sim card unless I am resident, I know there will be a lot of members that say different but I am staying right across the street from the government building and have spent 2 hours talking to officials. The only way to get a sim card is to have a Colombian buy it for you.
Are you sure? There are multiple reports here where member was able to get sim w / o any issue.
I think showing passport is sufficient to get a 10 $ loaded SIM.

Really?
Really? Wow!
At least I use the form for what is suppose to be GENERAL INFO not Bashing.

I tried.
Tried Movistar and Claro and both the same answer Only Colombians can buy. Ministry of tourism is where I spent two hours trying to get an answer, so that's all I know. Relying on WiFi to keep in contact with chicas.

Bashing.
Why do you have to bash everyone that do not conform to your standards, everyone is not perfect I guess unlike you.
The guys who come in with that scenario never have any trip reports. They never go anywhere. Another group that never posts any trip reports are the guys who finish with "I'll be sure to write a full report. Nine months later they are on a different forum asking for the same information in a different country.

Why do you have to bash everyone that do not conform to your standards, everyone is not perfect I guess unlike you.
It's "everyone that does not conform."
I didn't bash anyone, just stated an easily confirmed fact. Read the forums. Look for the posts where someone wants to throw the wildest party ever. You'll find them about every 6 to 8 months. Now check the forum posts of the poster. I have seen no exception, they never post trip reports. In fact, they never post useful information. All of their posts are questions, usually questions which have already been answered many times.
The same is true for almost everyone who states they'll be sure to write a full report, when they ask the previously answered questions.
In defense, I've never stated that everyone should conform to my standards. If you would read the forums, you would see that I've written more than once, everyone should find what suits them and not worry about what other people are doing.

Where is Jumbo, sitting in Medellin right now.
Where is Jumbo, sitting in Medellin right now.
There is one in the Santa Fe Mall, one in the Premium Plaza Mall, and one near Laureles-Estadio, Cra. 65 #45-85. It is between the Estadio and Suramericana Metro satations, very close to the Metro line. Jumbo is a large supermarket.

Thanks.
Thank you, no luck in Bogota.

Refugee question
Are there increasing numbers of refugees from Venezuela in Cartagena, Medellin, Bogota, Cali. ? Friends now in Medellin are telling me that they see more and more Venezuelans, some obviously desperate, in places like El Centro.

TTM.

And the chicas I know in medellin have been complaining. Working girls have more competition from chicas who look good and will do more for less. And girls looking for a regular job are having a harder time because the Venezuelans are willing to work for even less than the Colombian minimum.
I'ts not unlike the problem the ticos / ticas have in Costa Rica with the Nicos / Nicas, but perhaps on a larger scale.

And supposedly, Bogota and CTG have a lot more. I'm guessing Curacao is loaded (though I don't know 1st hand since I haven't been in years).

Not true
That's not true. I've bought several sim cards and was never even asked for an ID. Many places sell them and not just the cell phone stores.
