Is "Ave. Sexta" Area "Av. 6 a Nte. " on Google maps? It seems to not be showing up otherwise. Is it this place: (in red) https://imgur.com/a/xC4nKsC?
Yes.
The main reason that you Don't want to stay in San Antonio is not only is it a hipster (and relatively expensive) part of Cali is #1. It's the öld town of the city so they have to try to maintain the facades of the orginal buildings It's not like they can just plant a Mall out there.
#2. It's Hilly I could take a brisk walk to Av Sexta aka Av 6 a Norte but I wouldn't want to do it because I wouldn't want to walk down (then back up) the hill then cross several busy highways to get to Grenada or Downtown.
Pro tip to First timers to Cali stay in Grenada / Chipichape unless you plan to stay for months and your Spanish is very good.
The South is waaaaaaay better than the north and I know a guy (who knows Spanish and been to Cali several times) who primarily stays in the south based on my reccomendations. But to the first timer / short stayer it's best to stay near the action in the cluster of the most promient Casas and Clubs.
There's defenitely Casas and even the occasional Street walker in the South but unless you have a good Monger eye know Spanish and willing to learn the culture it's better to just get a Hotel in Grenada and call it a day.
Hope this Helps.

Short stay or Long stay
Any thoughts on Airbnb's vs hotels? I read through the recent pages and did a search for "Airbnb" and it seems most people stay in hotels. Is it just more convenient to stay in hotels?
Yes.
For the short stayer and first timer a hotel is more convienient. Don't overthink it.
An Airbnb is cheaper and more flexible but as a first timer theres a decent chance that it could rain during your stay and you might run to Medellin or Cartegena. If you're going to come and check out Bar La Veinte and Dr. Amor there's no reason why you need a Airbnb.
If you plan to use dating apps and want to wine and dine chicas in the hopes that they'll spend all night with you and possibly watch an NFL game with you then a Airbnb in a decent area near where most Chicas live (in the southern portion of the city) would be better.
First trip no Spanish Try to get a Hotel as close to Dr. Amor as possible.
Hope this Helps.

I had no Idea
I did not check out bar la 20 it will have to be on my next trip bro. I kinda wanted to get back to medellin after a few days. The main mission was to fuck this chick yei that I know from another girl paola. And I had mission accomplished on the first day along with this other vennie chick Carolina and after that I was just fucking extra chicks but I wasn't super impressed compared to the quality of chicas I'm used to in medellin and Bogota.
PS: this is yei, the main reason I came to Cali was to session with her. 19 years old black vennie, super attractive (to me), great personality, great service. I highly recommend her. She's usually on cra 10 in front on hotel sensations during the daytime hours if any of you want to try to find her.
-Gabacho
I don't deal with Street Meat even though I must say that Street Meat in Colombia is better than Street Meat in the DR. There's tons of youtube channels devoted to Medellin El Centro and there's plenty of coverage in the Meddy section.
Ditto for Santa Fe in Bogota
But I didn't know the Vennie Street walkers had a network like that. I guess it makes sense they'd probably ask anyone that been to a city how it is for Street work.
I do know one chick who travels from medellin to Cali specifcally to work out of the Hotel Del Rey and I just met a chick from Bogota who has relatives in Cali and through my Big Butt Delivery service pipeline she actually didn't need any training from me although I was her first Gringo experience, Frankly it's hard to believe how someone who never fucked a Gringo could apply the appropriate ball sucking pressure and she even licked and kissed around my dick leaving a wonderful sensation.
If someone is coming strictly for Streetmeat Cali is good for that and one positive that Cali has over Meddy's Street Meat scene is I never heard of one scopaline drugging and if you wish you can take a Street walker back to your place and within reason ensure that the majority of the stuff that you had in your place will remian there.
Most Street meat Mongers I met tend to specialize it in so they know the majority of scams but if someone waas curious about getting into that scene Cali would be a good place to start.
Hope this Helps.

You're the pointman
Ts have revealed extremely little on this topic. So it seems like I'll have to take lead and run point on this topic and bring the info to the people. But that's fine with me bec its been a fun challenge basically becoming an AMP master in the US, so time t a new challenge.
There's tons of casas all over the city. I could visit 4 in a 6 KM radius of where I live in the south. That being said there's no reviews of them because I guess no one was wowed by them, Like I said I could vist several casas within walking distance of me and I still don't visit them.
Generally you don't get amazing massages other than Kathmandu the "massage" is just a fig leaf for sex You get a better Line up at Dr. Amor especially if you like Voluptous women most of the massage / casa girls are spinner Vennies.
Personally I've always been partial to Semi and Non Pro women and gotten spoiled by the big butt delivery service. Just today I got another connect and now the Big Butt elivery service extends into Jamundi which is a southern suburb of Cali near me. It's sorta of like Jersey City in relation to New York.
Hope this Helps.

Not sure if the hotel I booked accommodations at is fear mongering me or not. They provide a shuttle service from airport to hotel for $25 one way and I asked what's the advantage of using their service over Uber / Taxi, and they said "using our service is much safer than the unsafe Uber and taxis. " Are ubers and taxis dangerous for foreigners in Cali?
Note that I speak very limited Spanish, will look like a foreigner, and my NYC- Cali flight arrives at 11 PM (so I'll probably leave the airport after midnight since I have to go through customs or whatever it's called in Colombia).

.
I think they're fear mongering, but up to you. The fee is standard and should be 50 k to 60 k from the airport to your hotel depending on where you're at. Cali airport is not that big and as you exit outside there will be an ATM on the right (behind class door) and a taxi line straight ahead. Give them the address of your hotel and you can ask 'Cuanto cuesta?' It's very straight forward. Honestly easier than trying to find the guy that's picking you up, but then again, it may be nice to have someone waiting for you for the extra $10.
Not sure if the hotel I booked accommodations at is fear mongering me or not. They provide a shuttle service from airport to hotel for $25 one way
Clue 1 was they told you in USD. In 17 years I have never had a problem with a taxi, Uber, or Indriver in Cali. In March I paid 25,000 pesos from the airport to Granada in Indriver. Back to the airport I paid 46,500 in Uber. And your hotel wants 97,000 pesos?
-
Another Option
Another option is to take an airport shuttle bus to the terminal de transportes. Thats about 10 K. Then a cab from there to your hotel, which is about 7 K. A little bit longer, but a lot cheaper in price. It might be a little more to go to the San Antonio district.

Also, what is the aversion towards being quoted in USD? I've seen that around here a lot. It seems people say when they quote you in USD, it means they're trying to rip you off, but couldn't they just see that you're american and did the math for you?

Hey all,
I just booked a room at Hotel Porton de Granada for 2. I'm traveling solo, but put 2 as the guest just in case, though it seems I will need the name of the second guest at the time of check in which probably won't work. It seems they.

Colombian Election
Today is Colombia's Presidential Election. They are probably counting the ballots now. Its Gustavo Petro, a leftist, versus Rodolfo Hernandez, a more moderate candidate. I just hope there is peace and tranquility in the country after the ballots are counted and the winner announced.

It seems people say when they quote you in USD, it means they're trying to rip you off, but couldn't they just see that you're american and did the math for you?
The time of night shouldn't matter much, maybe it's 5 k more. Since it will be late at night, you're a newbie, and your Spanish is poor (I'm assuming), I repeat that I think the easiest thing for you to do is take the taxi line. Write the address on a sheet of paper or take screenshot on your phone. They should quote you 50 k to 60 k. You can do InDriver, but you'll need Colombia cell service and then to meet the drive and ride in an unfamiliar car. There are also much fewer of them late at night. You can take the bus to the bus station (sketchy late at night) and then flag a taxi, but that's a lot at night in an unfamiliar city to save $8 to $10 (not something I think is worth it).
Just do the f-ing taxi line. It's $15 USD for a 35 to 40 minute ride.
Unless it is a higher end hotel, them quoting you in USD should throw off some alarms. When they see an American they see an ATM, pure and simple. All discussions should be in COP if you can.
My two pesos.
