i was in tiga puluh my first two nights in jakarta last month. all the ladies started the bidding at 1 million st, but i was able to get the two that i ended up going with down to 500k and 600k respectively for st. i'd say that the one who took 500 was a 7 in looks and an 9 in performance, and the one who took 600 was an 8 and 8. they were the only two ladies i engaged in any serious discussions with, so i can't say how consistent this sort of pricing was, and as i was somewhat jet-lagged, i was not up for any lt action (and the 2nd lady was unavailable for that anyways, as she made it clear she needed to be home by 1 am).

in general, my realization of this sort of pricing drove me to spend my 2nd short stint in jakarta at the sheraton, rather than le meridien, as from that point on, all of my hobbying took place at the hotel travel, which is much more convenient to the sheraton than it is to le meridien.

My experience at Berlain was much the same but it's only 260k/hr. Berlain is in the same alley but to the right side as you walk toward Kartika. Thanks JAD. On my previous visit, and reported on the board regarding prices, I chatted gents in TG on different nights who would point out a girl in the bar who he had taken from CJ's the evening before, or the girl was seen in CJ's by that man an hour prior to her being in TG. It would turn out that the girl would ask 800 or 1 juta in CJ's and not go for less than 600. But when she is in TG she will ask 800 initially, then go for 350. If what JAD says is true, that the bar itself is getting into the business and taking a cut with minimum (but high prices like 1 juta), its all the more reason for gents to stay out of the place for mongering purposes. Go if you like the joint, the atmosphere, the ladies. But taking girls out of there is overpaying, and will eventually drive prices up elsewhere.

Its similar to taking the overpriced girls in Manila from the EDSA complex (or on Burgos) for p3000 barfine + p3000 for the girl's tip, when you can find a girl LT for p1500 total in other joints nearby. The p6000 girl keeps the p1500 girl's price inflated (yap, the price could be lower if we stop taking the expensive girls) everytime a gent takes one. If we all stopped paying for the higher-priced girls, their bars and the girls themselves would have to lower their prices -- and so would the cheaper girls, as there would be a glut of lower-priced gals on the market. There is nothing complicated here, a girl is a girl. One does not get better performance in CJ's vs TG.

And this is spreading to Nana as more Japanese head to that place. Yet when you read about the lower prices in Pattaya, you also don't hear about to many Japanese heading there.

I rarely paid more than 350 st from TG, and when I was living in Jakarta could in fact usually pick it up cheaper, or convert ST to LT for the same price.

Market economy. The local WalMart sells a hammer for $8. The big-name hardware chain store nearby sells the (exact) same hammer for $20. There are many reasons why WalMart sells it for less, and the hardware store sells it for more. Location. Quantity sold. Customer base. Store expenses. And so on. The hardware store is making a profit selling fewer hammers, so is WalMart selling more hammers. If they were not, they would cease selling it.

There are many factors that go into the customer's choice in purchasing. Maybe the Walmart is close to his home. Maybe he likes the customer service at the hardware store. And so on. However, I would argue that Walmart would lower its prices if the hardware store lowered its prices. If the hardware store suddenly lowered its hammer price to, say, $10, more Walmart customers would waltz to the hardware store. Or there would be a glut of low-priced hammers on the market, forcing Walmart to lower its prices, say, to $7 (or such). Each time a $20 hammer sells in the hardware store (regardless the reason the customer went there to purchase), it keeps the Walmart price inflated.

The same holds true with cewek. If the gents stopped grabbing girls from CJ's (the reason is unimportant), the CJ's gals would flood elsewhere, malls, the Block, etc. The extra girls in those places increases competition, driving the price down in TG. Each time a gent takes a high-priced gal from CJ's (regardless the reason, like the hammer in the hardware store), he is keeping the TG (or other) price inflated. Its not my place to tell any given gent where to get his joy on (maybe he likes the atmosphere in TP or CJ's), but the economics are simple: taking a CJ's girl for 600-800 ST means my next TG girl that will cost me 350 could be costing me 300.

We are paying more than needed. Feel free to reference my previous post about what the girls are willing to work for. They just throw up those high prices to see if you are a noob and willing to pay it.
