Just as an aside, I have been using the same travel ins company for many years, 6-11 months at a time. My new policy will be about $300 per month for $100 K and Covid protection. I now pay $143.

I went over to Cambodia before Covid to avoid Immigration hassles, figured it would be easy to roll in and out of Bangkok / Thailand as I pleased. O well. Then I get the $3000 deposit malarky here in Cambo.

After 25 years, its tough to think that I won't be going back to Thailand for the foreseeable future, and at my age, could be never again. And as much as I love Cambodia, I wouldn't give them $3000 for a Covid entrance fee, so when I leave here (my Visa is up in March), looks like I'm going to the USA and staying for a while.

O well, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Porsches are being heavily discounted, guess its time to see America first as they say. I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy Thailand during some great years, but times change. Good luck in your wanderings guys and take care.

The Covid19 is going wild and Trump is not doing anything to stop it. Thailand has been great and has only 3 deaths. 3000 cases of Covid19 and 99% recovery. I 'm an American but I might decide to stay here in Phuket. Why go home if everyone is sick? Pence is now lying about increased Covid19 cases. The republican's have lost their minds and will loose many seats in congress.

I hear short time rooms are going to be mandated to install see thru windows. Police need to make sure masks are being worn during intimate relations.

Even though Thailand was an international travel hub at the start of corona and left the gogos and everything else open for at least a full two months after their first case on Jan 13. Yet, they claim the most deaths they had in any single day was 4 with a total of 58. And zero deaths in the past month.

Those numbers sound reasonable to you?

The virus is still out there so Thailand like most other countries that are opening back up can expect the actual number of cases and deaths to rise, regardless of the number they report.
