I'm on another forum and quoted prices there are up in the 800-1,000k range with them being paid!
Had a business trip to Jakarta and my first ever trip to Indonesia. I started with reading the forum well before my trip.
I was staying at Le Meridien so I decided to checked out the resident bar, Tiga Puluh but found nothing initially. It was about 8:30pm. I asked the security guy when it would get busy, he told me about 11pm. So I progress to walk to BATS. I could have taken a cab but I wanted to see a small mall, Citywalk in between. It took about 20mins to walk. I was walking along Jln Kyai Haki Mas Mansyur and saw quite a Massage place across the road. I could not be bothered crossing the busy street to check it out, but would not mind confirmation from any members here who has been there.
At BATS there was a cover charge of R110k (about USD15) which included a drink and I thought was OK to pay, until he wanted me to select a drink right away. I didn't know what I wanted to drink nor did I want a drink right away, so I left and took a cab back for about R20k.
Caught up with some work then I decided to head down to Tiga Puluh again, by this time it was 11pm. I was also pretty tired but my curious mongering instinct overcame my exhaustion. I thought if there was nothing I could always head back to BATS.
Initially I was disappointed, until I realised the bar extended beyond the pool table. There was a girl playing pool and she smiled at me and gave me good vibes. Beyond the doors (which I thought had led to the toilet) was actually the bar.
A good band was playing but it was too loud, so I went back up to my room to get some earplugs and returned. There were 4 girls on my left. 1 was already talking to another monger. 3 was in front dancing to the band (I am still trying to figure out if they were friends of the band or also working). There were 2 girls to my rear. Possibly half a dozen to my right but it was too dark and I did not venture past that point.
I singled out a hot slim petite girl. Another FL was was hitting on me and quite friendly to most of the girls. She was quite chatty, so I asked her if she knew who she was but she didn't, but went to talk to her on my behalf anyway, she did not seem interested in the other punters around but hot slim petite girl came over to me. She spoke very little English, I got straight to the point and she wanted R1.8m. I thought I read here that pricing was about R400k for ST. She wasn't budging on price, so I walked.
The friendly girl wanted R1m but I think was willing to go as low as 700k, she wasn't that hot and I was not that desperate. The 2 girls behind me were also eyeing me now and started to take interest as I was negotiating unlike the other punters who were just there for the band or drink.
As I was about to start hitting on the 2 girls behind me, all of a sudden a girl came from nowhere (I don't remember seeing her anywhere, maybe she came from the dark right corner) had got to me before I got to them, she was not as hot as the R1.8m girl but started negotiations, at the end we agreed with about 700k (I did not have enough Rupiah so I mixed with a little R and some USD, I figured it would save me from changing back unused currency as I was leaving the next day). That was as low as she got, maybe lower if I was willing to walk. I guess the night was still young at around midnight but I was tired from a whole days work and travel. I was also too tired to head back to BATS for a comparison (so I'll never know).
Usually when work is involved and where plenty of pious colleagues are also staying at the same hotel, I usually like to give my room number and for the girl to come separately and discretely, but you need a room key to access the elevator. On the plus side, the wing where my room was was almost directly above Tiga Puluh and close to the elevator. So I risked with her travelling in the same elevator and made her walk a distance behind me. That was the best I could do, but I'm open to any tips you guys might have.
I think she said her name was Ita. Her body was tidy enough for someone who has had a baby. The service was overall good. But the experience partially ruined by her request for more money and wanted to raid my minibar which I forbade. Then she took damn long to powder herself (I was really tired now) and wanted me to accompany her to the lobby because of security. I told that was BS and she should be able to leave without a problem. I BS to her that other girls did not request for me to accompany them to the lobby. Sure enough about 10mins later, security rang my room to make sure everything was ok before they would let her go. I told them everything was cool.

hmmmm? why were you charged this? i've never had to pay and thought it was only for the working ceweks :)
Hey there,
Did not find any useful info in the forum on Tangerang. Can anybody share any info on escort agencies operating in that area or any other useful info on how I can find a girl there. I will be staying in the Aryaduta hotel. I assume there will be no action in the hotel, right?
Cheers,

There is a bar attached to the hotel, maybe called "RC's" or something like that. When I was there, there was a decent live band and a few girls definitely for hire. Maybe start hunting around 9-10pm?
Hmmmm? Why were you charged this? I've never had to pay and thought it was only for the working ceweks :)
I can confirm that there is the 100k door cover. I was there with 3 non cewak lady friends and we were all charged the cover and had to order the first drink right away. It was about 5 to 1 men to women and that may have to do with the rise of prices. 5 to 1 pussy goes to the highest bidder. It is just sad some fools will pay it and screw the rest of us. I don't know what the ratio is in CJ's but the only time I was there it was still at least 3 to 1. I am not paying 5 star prices for 3 star pussy.

That's the standard cover at Bats unless you are staying there or having dinner there.

OK, understand. Btw, how do they know if you're a hotel guest? My most recent visit [last month], 4 of us [non-bule] dropped in around 10 pm for a quick drink.....they didn't ask if we were hotel guests?

Is it possible they do it on some nights and not on others?
I know some places vary their charges depending on whether it is a weekend nights or weekday night or some other variation.
I was asked if I was staying at the hotel (I guess if I could prove it it would have been my free pass)

My guess is you were there early enough that you got there just in time to avoid the cover. They don't start charging it until the night club crowd starts arriving. Even if they are charging the cover, if you tell them you are there for dinner, they will not charge the cover. However, try going there any night at midnight and they will ask for the 110k cover. By then, they are charging the cover and not serving dinner anymore. Honestly, the cover is no big deal because you get a drink with that and the price of a drink is the same price anyway.
actually this is standard practice in jakarta from my experience. think about it for a second. security does it for your benefit so you don't get ripped off. stop complaining, throw some clothes on and walk the young lass past security, it will only take you a couple of minutes. once she is past security, typically at the elevators but every hotel is different, she is free and clear.

Asked security and their comment was "charges start at 9pm". But you're getting a drink for the entry fee, so I guess it just makes sure that everybody buys at least one drink!!!! Thing is, it's a very late starting bar as far as girls go, so you can be sitting around for a while.
After some recent trips to town I would say that BATS is better than CJ's - band and girls. However, it's main drawback is that it doesn't liven up to around 11pm, so you have to be prepared to make a night of it.

Update: My expierence is that at least on Sundays they do not charge you the entrance fee (110K), also a very slow day for the bar.
I will check tomorrw/today again.
And yes they ask frequently if you stay in the hotel (I believe they want to see you keycard).
Thanks for the tip about the dinner (I always use some food there:(
BTW The Mulia (CJ) ask every day an entrance fee of 110K (and on Sundays they have also lower numbers of customers). Also here they start with asking if you stay in the hotel (than you have free access.
My expierence is that girls in the Mjulia are better spread over the club than their counterparts in BATS.
Redsquare is closed on Sunday evenings.....

I also think that they want you to escort them out so that they can avoid trying to be hit up by one of them for money. If they ask, I do it. Most of the time I do it on my own, but that's me.

Absolutely - the security guys normally do give hassle because they're looking for cash from the girls. I normally ask them to call my room number if there's any problem and most manage ok. But then again, I normally tip the security guys and doormen at whatever hotel I'm in - and I've been regular in a couple so that they know me by name. So I had no problems in Manhattan, Park Lane, Akmani and Le Meridien, although it may well be necessary to escort the girl in an unfamiliar hotel. That being said, I have had girls insist on being escorted down in Mulia Hotel when I was quite regular there - not the best thing for you if she's leaving 8-10 in the morning; to make it worse (as a Malaysian) that hotel could almost be Kampong Kuala Lumpur at times...

if you have to do the walk of shame together in the lift because of the key card needed to operate the lift the trick is to give her your room no. and ask her to go down the hallway the opposite direction your room is first while you go to your room straight.
i also hate when they ask for more money, taxi money or want to raid the mini bar. when they try to insist on up-charging i say thank you and goodbye and kick them out in an instant, never mind how much my little fellow might try to convince me not to do so. my experience is that service deteriorates proportionally to the amount they try charge more. anyway, rule of thumb is never pay in advance. if they try to insist on advanced payment, again, its an immediate goodbye.
