I've seen recent YT videos of the strip near Raumchok Plaza / Thermae has SW, are any "nice" bars or pubs allowing freelancers since the world changed forever?

I'll be in town from the 20th for a week maybe two.

I was walking on Soi 33 today. After my Akane massage, other the girls insisted I come in and look. I popped in DreamHeaven. Guess its 1800 but when I walked out they said "OK 1500". So looks like promos and deals are to be had, and I'm one to take advantage of them!

But it is still something men "pay" in exchange for sex with women whether we enjoy paying it or not.

When we don't feel like being bothered with that particular kind of "payment" in exchange for sex, we walk into a brothel and plunk down the cash instead.

It seems oddly curious to me that there is any resistance to understanding and accepting these basic truths about men and women on a site like this one, of all places.

I mean, it's kind of central to why this hobby has existed all along.

Star of Light, the infamous BJ bar has reopened. They have a new location, still on Patpong Soi 2, but a few doors up form the old place, closer to Surawong Road. As an aside, Patpong Soi 1 is nearly dead (on a Saturday night no less), while Soi 2 is somehow limping along.

They increased prices to 800 baht (from 700) for a BJ and to 1200 (from 1000) for full service. The good old "increase prices when demand is down" Thai trick. Now they're the same as any other BJ bar, and while still OK for a BJ, I surely won't be tempted by full service given that you can get a freelancer for a full hour for less.

The new location is brighter and cleaner, so that's good. It has a partition behind a heavy curtain for the BJ, and they no longer offer service out in the open in the bar. Good for privacy, but every place has that; doing it out in public and occasionally watching a few knobs being polished was the main, unique selling point. They seem to be scared of police now, I was told to keep my shirt on. Hoping this is temporary and that they'll be more relaxed in the future.

There were 4 girls and the service was nice, with one of my old favorites.

While I understand both the higher prices and the precautions, understanding doesn't make me horny or eager to visit again soon.

Went into Thermae last night about 10:30. There were a total of 7 guys and about 30 or so gals. We were the only two non-Asian guys. Stayed about 20 min. During that time a few small groups of Asian guys wandered in. There was never more than 12 guys in the bar at any one time. Saw one gal get pulled. Some lookers but many still obviously not interested in the white man, even though their prospects overall were slim. Lower Suk is dire without tourists. Many if not most of these businesses are not going to survive. Some groups of older women trying to ply their wears on the street as well. You get the feeling they are doing this out of desperation. It's a very sad and depressing sight. Only ray of light was the new beer bar complex on Soi 7. Seem to be some punters and some happy gals.

Many girls have told me this. Japanese guys are. Most polite is why they have favoured status. The fact they pay well is secondary.

With Japs it's go with the flow. No need for diagrams and contracts on what will be done, how long it will take.

Yes, the place was hopping at around 9pm but dropped back noticeably after 10pm or so that night when the expats went home (presumably). Very lively bars with demonstrably appreciative girls. Pretty much the only place I have been since the bars reopened where the girls seemed to really give a shit that they could start making money again if they behaved like they were at least happy to see a potential customer walking through.

I was with a date and did not barfine anyone. But we sat and enjoyed having drinks with a couple of other girls there. One was a former Butterflies go-go dancer on the fence about returning to the go-go bar scene.

I had only barfined one girl from that location before the shutdown, from one of the bars directly on Soi 7 before you get to Beer Garden. Had a good time. But lots of territorial jealousy and drama ensued immediately afterwards on her part so I have not repeated. Thought she might throw a barstool at us when my Friday night date and I walked by. Lol

As I alluded to, the girls there are more demonstrably pro active and emotional than most other venues around town.

Btw, at the 9pm hour we popped our heads into Beer Garden and there were only 4-5 ladies sitting in there and about as many customers.

You are resisting the thought that there are other types of men out there. Even though one is on this site one could be aware that the majority of men do not partake in our hobby and there are even more men out there who get sex for no payment at all. They are good looking and glib and girls throw themselves at them. Having never experienced that does not mean it never happens.

I should never have said 100% of the women of the world demand cash paid directly to them for sex and 100% of the men of the world pay cash directly to them for sex, no exceptions.

Some would tell the girls outrageous whoppers to convince them they had a real shot at a lifetime of committed or marital bliss and security for hopping into bed with them asap, that they were model agents, casting directors and they saw something very special about them, whatever it took. Others were so good looking and/or funny the status of being chosen by them for sex was irresistible to the ladies.

Some of those guys tell me they would trade their life in the states today for mine in Thailand in a heartbeat. Especially these days. But I did marvel at how good they were at bedding down the girls by playing on their hopes and dreams or impressing them with their looks and/or charms back in the day.
