A cluster of pop up bars just opened on Soi 7 also accessible from Sukhumvit. Earlier in the week I noticed a long lineup of girls with what I assumed were work applications of some sort. That was also the case with Rainbow 2 when I walked in last night. Stage full of girls, maybe 3 customers. As I stepped inside through the curtain making a beeline for a seat on the opposite side of the room, a few very eager, smiling and attentive drink servers gesturing me to please sit here or here or here so I would be in their area, I looked up at a very hot young dancer, the kind this bar is famous for, on the corner of the stage nearest the entrance and I threw her a big smile and nod.
That elicited zero response from her other than staring deadpan and grim-faced at me or let's say precisely in my direction as though I was invisible. Not a return smile, not a nod back, not the slightest acknowledgement that someone else had finally walked into her bar or, least of all, that I had made an effort to bring in a little polite pleasantry along with my money and presence.

It exists in one form or another in other places.
I went into Butterflies go-go bar last night, too, one of the bars I pulled from fairly often during normal times. I did not get the deadpan blank stare cold shoulder response from the first girls on the stage nearest the door, the ones managrment often hopes will draw you all the way in if you only peek through the curtains, as happened in Rainbow 2. Doesn't mean girls don't tell you or write down their Line ID for you. If they're interested in you they will find a way to give you their Line.

She would go to a back room, write it down, and hand it to me later. I sometimes carry 2 or 3 pieces of paper with my Line ID so I could easily give mine to her.
More typical for me is to just pay the bar fine and get her Line ID in the privacy of my hotel room.
