Yea, that was how I saw it last time I was there also (Mar 09). Really I thought it was just me and maybe I had AC burnout.
It was kinda a real bummer because like a Heroin addict, my first trip to AC was better than all the Disneyland vacations I had ever had as a kid. Orgies with 15 or so people and the Mamasan running the video camera, totally naked pool parties at 2am, dick out BBBJ's from door girls in the middle of the bar with a crowd cheering; this is what I thought AC was like all the time and I assumed I had discovered "Heaven".
I also met a real cutie with enough GFE to last about a year.
But alas, it was not to continue, and the last time in AC it was as described above.
I just came back from two weeks in AC and I would have stayed more, but my time was up.
I had the first week as a butterfly with girls from Santos, Fields bars and one session in Niftys. The second week was a 'honeymoon' with one girl from Fields.
I did not really notice too much different (a few more beggars and street vendors - not surprising given the global financial crisis) apart from the extra bars at the Mac end of Fields.
Having said that, I have spoken to a number of people who experience the 'let down' from their first trips to AC (and Pattaya for that matter - my first trip to Thl was in 1974). The most common observation is that on the first trip, they are so blown by the fact that for the cost of an hour at home with a very average provider, they can normally spend a couple of hours in a bar in AC, buy ladies drinks for three or four girls plus mamasan, plus leave with a girl for the night. However, on subsequent trips most guys get a little cheaper with their money - go straight to the dancers, ask if the girl is a 3 holer, one drink if she is, then off to the room. When I put it to some of these guys that perhaps the main difference to their experience is that when they first came, they spent up big, and later trips they were cheap charlies, and the girls' reactions were really to that.
I suggest now that in AC you can still have the same blast of a time as you did in your cherry trip IF you spend the same amount (allowing for inflation) as you did in your cherry trip. Of course if you spend less, you should not expect the same standard of service surely?

Nope. Has/had nothing to do with money as when I go on vacation I go to have a good time and am not hindered by monetary value. Thus I save and plan accordingly for said good time. For example my first trip I stayed at the Seinpost Hotel and last two trips Savannah and ABC respectively.
For me it was the VIBE that was different and nothing else. This was not only noticed by me but also the two other punters I brought with me. Both were with me on the cherry trip, and both came to the same conclusion.
Truth be known, they were the ones who had to deal with: "Oh, I'm on Mens" after they bought the girl a LD, getting turned down by 5 or 6 girls in a row, runners who agreed to stay LT, and one guy got his camera lifted from his hotel room when he said goodbye to his BF. I was able to avoid those pitfalls as I read ISG :) and was conscience of my surroundings/situations.
The only time I was scammed was when I checked my chit after round three of LD's with two girls at Geckos and the price of said LD was doubled. My questions of 'why double' was answered with "oh, happy hour over now, price change". Well, I know the prices (from ISG) and knew this was a scam. Still I paid the balance and admonished the girls in Tagalog as they knew they were caught and both apologized. They then received the "walang-hiya" from me. Assuredly not cool after two rounds for each.
And, going back to your money theory, I just remembered that one guy was getting married when he returned to the states in a few weeks and brought (OMG!) 30,000 php for his 'big baller' weekend. So, your theory is not correct in this case. Everyone was there for the last big blowout before my buddy had to give up his nuts to his fiance.
I actually kept my mouth shut about my misgivings about AC, just so I would not ruin the big weekend for these guys. However, at the trips conclusion in the taxi ride to the airport both concluded that 'AC just aint the same'. Their words not mine.
My thoughts now would probably have to deal with expectations vs. just letting it happen and having a good time. (Serendipitous) That may be the difference between then and now, but I doubt it.

I am confused... So their cherry trip means something else than their first visit? How otherwice they conlude it is not same as before???
I am confused. So their cherry trip means something else than their first visit? How otherwice they conlude it is not same as before?
He didn't say "their cherry" trip he said "the cherry" trip referring to his first time in AC he spoke about earlier. The group of guys were with him on his cherry trip and this most recent visit as well.
I just got back from AC and I'd have to agree that it has changed and seems to be going in the wrong direction. I believe one reason for this is the women overall seem less interested in GFE's and more in getting as much money as possible.
A lot of the bars pay what they call cultural dancers/spotlight dancers 340 pesos a day. Which means the girls are not making a great wage just dancing, add a couple of LDs and they are making great money for the PI. When you figure 150pesos is the average wage in the PI, These babes have no incentive to leave with a guy and will claim "mens" this way the guy will not feel like he's been rejected totally and won't complain about paying for the LDs. He just choice the wrong day.
You have to quiz the girls a bit more now, If you want the GFE's, Id say stick to the smaller bars.

I don't know, I spend about 1/3 as much (combined hotel, barhop, and food) as I did 2 years ago, and still have as much fun. My cherry trip was only 2 years ago so we may be comparing different eras.

This, to me, is the key. I almost never try to pull from the show bars. And at the small bars, I'll sit directly at the stage and flirt a little before I even buy a girl a drink. I really don't like the "have mamasan/waitress point with a laser" routine. Some guys do. More power to 'em.

So maybe it is just natural variation between bars, girls, punters? So many variables.

Hi,
Just curious as to the bars you went to (apart from Geckos).
I tended to stick to the smaller bars on Fields this trip, and did not try any of the larger ones for barfining.
I guess, I may be a little prejudiced since I had no runners, and almost 100% success rate in that I always got the gel I wanted. (One 'mens' only over two weeks).
Also, I did not bf anyone from Geckos, but the other board member who accompanied me did and did not report any misdemeanors.
I spent some time in Eager Beavers, which is, I think a sister club to Honeypot. I gave the usual 'gustomo bang uminum ng ladies drink' to one of the girls, and the waitress warned me that the girl had ordered one of the more expensive drinks up front. I say this just to point out that bar management is variable as I am sure you know.
Not sure whether there is a general change in standard in AC and I was just lucky (and I did not hear my board partner complain either), or whether perhaps there is no change, and you guys just had bad luck. So perhaps a more detailed discussion of the bars that caused you trouble might be worthwhile.
I still hold to the theory though that there is a rough relationship with how much people spend and the return they get - as long as they don't go stupid - that is asking to be cheated of course.
30000P?!? :) Wow! I did not spend that on the whole time with the second week Asawa ko.

Well, to be perfectly honest, the first night we were there, the hotel didn't have room for me (but did for the other two) and I pretty much said Fuck it and went to the ABC.
My first BF was from Insomnia and was nothing short of a disaster. The group ended up in Sky Trax and I pretty much wanted to dump her right there, but figured I would get the first nut as it was late. Back in the hotel with my BF (don't do that, don't do this, pay more, etc...) my nerves were shot. AND she didn't even shave her box! WTF???? Thought that was a given with these chicks.
In the morning she argued about the tip (300 peso) and told me she needed more. I almost had to go bad Carmex on her and I threatened to call hotel security to come and physically remove her. But she left after some complaining and a little crying.
Pretty much after that I met up with the boys for lunch at Geckos, and both had similar stories with the baller losing his camera first night. You already know the lunch story.
From then on, I just called in some old faithfuls (about 6 different girls) to come to the hotel and service me and met the boys out for meals and drinking with my out calls. No more risky BF's for me. Just sex with girls that know me and know how to please, and specifically, no BS involved.
The afternoon lunch meetings with the boys would usually involve them telling me of their BF's from the night before and some good, but mostly bad.
I think we concluded as well that the perimeter bars were better then the Fields ones for BF and GFE/zany activities. And don't even get me started on that 'Spotlight' dancer 4000 peso bullshit. Like that pussy is any better? Come on.
As an aside, the baller did not come close to spending the 30 G's, and for some reason, did not get married when he returned home to USA. Go figure.
Maybe we just had bad luck. Repeatedly. Over and over, every night. But I kinda doubt it.
Last month I had two newbies who wanted to go to Phils with me. One guy is Filipino but raised in the States and a pretty good looking fellow. The other guy is pretty well off and told me he would "cover" me for the entire trip in exchange for the mentor-ship. I considered AC, but eventually settled on Cebu. That alone should tell you how I feel about the quality/reputation of AC.
Right now as I write this, I am not sure if I will ever go back to AC. There is just too much better pussy, better places, and better experiences elsewhere in Phils.
I just got back from AC and I'd have to agree that it has changed and seems to be going in the wrong direction. I believe one reason for this is the women overall seem less interested in GFE's and more in getting as much money as possible.
I've watched exactly this process in Thailand over the past few decades and yeah, the signs are looking all too familiar.
That said, if you're willing to spend more time with the girls, choosing them more carefully and developing a little more rapport before you take them out, AC can still be terrific. Knock on wood, but I'm still having about 90% good experiences, and maybe 10% fantastic ones. I don't know of any place where the ratio is better, and of course it's still impossible to beat AC prices. So no serious complaints from me . . . not yet anyhow.

this site has been around for a few years. word on the street is that is is run by some lady boy's who themselves have criminal cases on-going. often referred to as the journalist lady, who is in "fear" for her life, is rumoured to be the driving force behind the site, suppose to have criminal problems with the local law, uses the site as some sort of propaganda tool to attack local officials who are prosecuting her. every sentence of truth is inflated into a major conspiracy and the site specializes in fear mongering and character assasination. to the locals, the small percentage of truth that comes from this site is well known, and no surprise. here is the surprise the site exposes: there is corruption in the philippines and that people pay bribes to goverenment and local officials. who would have guessed that?? of course this sort of thing would never happen in the rest of asia; china, indonnesia, thailand, malaysia, cambodia, laos, etc. one only need look at the use of language, the emotional nature of the reporting, use of derogatory pictures and language to see it is run by people with an agenda other than just exposing corruption.
read harry the horse, margarita station, those publications do expose situations of injustice and abuse, in a much more professional way and without all the hubris and agenda surrounding the facts. corruption aside, there are two things the police in station 4 (the local precinct responsible for the red light district) take no acceptance of, running with **** girls or drugs. caught doing either of these things and it will cost money and/or criminal charges. there are criminal gangs that seek to take advantage of tourists and foreigners, pick pocket, armed robbery and even murder. the local police do try to capture these people as it hurts tourism.
the safety tips for angeles are the same as almost anywhere in the world. don't walk alone on deserted streets, don't go with people you don't know that you've met on the street, don't deal with the beggers or street vendors, don't behave careless (walking around drunk with money hanging out of your pocket), don't engage in clearly illegal activities, don't get in fights with the locals, lock up your valuables, be respectful of all (even when they are wrong), keep a low profile. most of the significant hotels in angeles know the scene here, if you have a problem speak with the owner, they can guide you on how best to handle the situation. the abc hotel and lewis grand are probably the most respected and capable of helping their guests that i know of, but that is my opinion and others may be equally adept.

Massage may mean only massage. During my last trip a couple of weeks ago, I went to the massage place near Normas money changer, on the same side and a little closer to Fields. No extras whatever were on the menu. Confirmed by conversation with the owner. However, the massage was better than expected. (I have been spoilt by massages in Pattaya, so was not expecting much).

Sounds like the Body Bliss Spa. They are known around town for having the most qualified staff for massages and also for being strictly massage only.
