Why would they not work in a terma? Oh, this can trigger a long discussion all by itself, but here are some arguments:
1. Work hours are from the morning until mid-to-late afternoon, as opposed to a terma, where you start in the mid-afternoon, but have to stay until midnight or later. So it is a lot easier to hide your true occupation from neighbors and relatives.
2. Working in a terma can be brutally competitive; you have to do a lot to outcompete your fellow terma girls. Yes! Those are some insightful reasons. The smoking and drinking thing is notable for those people who have a big problem with that. I've never smelt strong smoke or any alcohol on an apartment girl's breath, whereas if I am in the other venues the girls smell of both plus sometimes food.

I agree with you on this one. I must have known about a dozen Centaraus girls who tried to work at 4x4 and quit because of this exact reason.
