When I first arrived, I took a taxi to cbd and just walked around to get to know the city, walked around all the business districts, archives, museum, library, govt buildings, and ended up in the busy markets area. All those areas have beautiful girls walking ALL OVER. You can easily stop them and talk, the store merchants and street merchants will call on you and stop you also being a foreigner my guy. If you ever go out that way, you'll most likely have the place to yourself (except for the mandatory armed guide). Yes, it is a long ride from Kitale, and that's why the driver wanted to stop in his village. If anyone does decide to venture out into the countryside, taking matatus and boda-bodas are very cost effective. For example, that daytrip was literally all day between driving there and back and having the driver wait while I trekked through the park. He asked for the equivalent in shillings of about 20 USD. I gave him a good tip as well and he was thrilled.
