Rookie Trip Report Lessons Learned Sept 1-8
ISG fam. Without boring you guys with all the mini details, spent a week in Medellin first week of September and this was the updated intel I gathered while I was there. I'm a veteran of the Bangkok / Pattaya scene and this was my first time in Medellin so comparing my experiences to that. Also, a big thank you to a lot of the contributors on here who helped out a ton with their previous reports prior to myself getting there. These were some of my Medellin rookie mistakes and successes:
Compared to Bangkok / Pattaya, the Medellin scene is not as in your face. Everything is more discrete and under the radar with freelancers and unmarked casas. You have to go hunting and takes more effort versus Bangkok / Pattaya where everything is centralized. On top of that, you need a decent level of Spanish here or you're going to have a lot of awkward pauses and look like a fool pulling out your phone to use Google Translate every 2nd sentence. Unlike Thailand where most girls have a basic grasp of English, the average Colombian I encountered knew ZERO English or like one or two phrases.
Facebook was a fail and Seeking was a minor success. Messaged 6 girls on FB that I "friended" before my trip to Medellin and didn't get a response from any of them. Seeking I had a ton of matches and messages. There were so many that it was a little overwhelming so followed through on one and she met up at the designated time and place but I decided not to pull the trigger because she wasn't as hot as her photos suggested. It was the same girl but you could tell she touched up her photos a little. With Seeking, I see a lot of potential but the kicker is the $100 monthly subscription which allows you to message girls back. It's worth it but I'd recommend getting it two weeks or so before your trip so that it gives you time to match and you'll still have access to it while you're there. There's a lot of non-pros and hotties on there and I feel that you can get some great deals if you manage your logistics right. The one thing that would worry me a little is the flakiness of girls and them not showing up or showing up really late since this did happen to me 75% of the time I made arrangements with girls.
Girls at Lleras Parque were quoting US $100 for an hour, US $200 for 2 hours, and US $260 for "all night. " "All night" depended on the girl. Some said 5 am, others said whenever they wake up. The bouncers at Lleras Parque were a little sketchy. During the slow days, they let you in without hassle but on the weekends if you try to get there around 1030 or so, they try to charge you a cover of 20 k COP and if you come with a group of guys, they make you try to buy a bottle. My advice is to not roll in with a group of dudes, get there early, buy a beer, scope the scene, and bounce if you don't like what you see. There were some lookers at Lleras Parque for sure.
Girls inside Gustos were quoting US $200 for 2 hours and US $300 for all night. Made a couple rounds around 1030-11 pm. There was a good selection of girls but not sure if it's worth US $200.
Freelancers outside of Gustos were quoting US $50 - $65 for an hour. Didn't ask for all night but there were a couple lookers the nights I walked up and down the street. There's a short-time hotel right behind Juancho Alitas restaurant next to Gustos that charges around US $30 for 3 hours if your hotel doesn't allow guests or charges more per guest than what the short-time hotel charges. It's safe and has all the basic amenities. Price is kind of steep but it's convenient.
Wednesday-Saturday seems like the best days to go with more selection and quality. Outside of that, it seemed a little dead.
Fase Dos was a waste of time but I went on a Sunday evening so maybe that could've been it. There were maybe about 15 girls or so, with two of them that I would say were hot but of course, both were swarmed by dudes by the time I got there.
La Isla was where it was at. Went twice, both times saw the same girls. Big club, good music, good vibes, and probably about 30-40 girls walking around doing their thing. Quality was pretty good. Beers were US strip club prices and girls were $75 for a 45-min session. One thing I didn't like were the girls walking around asking for tips (propina) after dancing. It's not mandatory and you don't need to give a tip if you don't want to.
Some miscellaneous non-girl info:
Rappi was a hit and miss. They don't take US-based credit cards after I tried inputting both my AmEx and Visa cards from different banks. I was able to pay in cash for my restaurant orders but when I tried to place orders for the grocery stores, Rappi would automatically cancel my grocery orders when the shopper tried to substitute one of my items when one of the items was out of stock. Seemed like there's some Rappi glitch that Rappi needs to figure out.
InDriver was a lifesaver. Multiple times I was not getting any luck with Uber during peak night hours so based on the rate I got on Uber, I'd quote 10% lower on InDriver and within a minute would have a driver ready to pick me up.
DON'T stay at the Charlee Hotel / Charlee Lifestyle. The logistics are great but for the price you're paying, you can get something way better. Either through AirBnB or another hotel nearby. The hotel is nice but they charge US $45 after the first girl you bring back to the hotel, no matter if you're staying a day or a week. PASS.
When flying out of Medellin, you need one of those blue or black medical masks to get through security. Security won't let you through even if you have an alternate face covering. Has to be a medical mask. Luckily a guy behind me had an extra one and gave me one.
Bring an umbrella if you're going around this time. Just random rain showers during the day and at night it would just start pouring.
