Transito in full force ...
Having mentioned all this, when I went to NL on Friday, I did not spot any transito as the feds were not worrying about citations (I guess this). ... But when driving to BT, I had a feeling the usual inspection guards would not be there, sure enough, I drove right in without an inspection!

Good report, Ernie88. I was also around Friday night and was also informed of the police situation. Although you may not have spotted them, transito were not included in the police clean up in Nuevo Laredo. I guess their brand of corruption is minor league compared to the cops working for the drug dealers.
I spotted a few inspection guys in BT this weekend but, as reported by Ernie88, no cars were being stopped. I for one found it a welcome change. I have not had the problems reported by others but I always worry they may find some pretext to try and hit me up for money.
Happy hunting, but keep an eye out for transito.
Border Towns closing at 10:00 p.m.
I guess you are already gone but the word is all bars and nightclubs are required to close down at 10:00 p.m. until the Mexican Government lifts the ban. I spent the night near the border last night and went over at 9:30 to have a margarita to find out that everything has to be shut down by 10:00 p.m.
Price + qualiity - difficulty
What has any of this done to the quality or prices of the girls?
I didn't get a chance to see this until I got to Laredo and decided to see for myself. I hit the bridge at 11pm. While looking for a taxi I noticed those bars on Guerrero in el centro were open. I take a taxi to Boystown and it was completely business as usual. I was at Papagayo first and then stayed at Danash until 3am. There were a ton of cars circling the streets that late and papagayo's parking lot was full.
The only difference was there weren't cops at the front gate (but I did see the local police boys parked near Dansh later) . And on the taxi ride back to the bridge there was a military checkpoint. The soldier asked the driver where we were going. The driver said ,,al puente'' and he let us pass.
At the US border the guy didn't scan my passport. He asked me if I was a trucker. I answered no and he said goodnight and I was on my way.
