Hopefully you are over 21, handsome and speak good spanish. In all LA countries it is accepted for younger women to be with older men. It is a little different with a Gringo as then the girl is labeled a Ho. The reason many seek the older guy is for security. For fun all women the world over prefer men around there own age or for women over 30 a younger guy. Don't sweat it and have fun.

People believe what they want to. A lot of this is "Latinas liking older men" shit is pure bullshit. Trust me. Those dudes reconcile themselves with being the bank to those chicas. I speak Spanish, I speak to women under 30 and over 30 yr old on a regular basis. It's the same. They DON'T prefer older men, they just tolerate them. They just want a man who can provide security to her, her children, and her extended family. A lot of guys here confuse things, maybe purposefully, with reality. Speak with any non-pro Latina, without any sexual intentions. She'll tell you the same. If you marry her, of course, Latinas generally take their vows more serious, esp if she is even just a little religious. Just be 100% straight up with her. She'll hang in there with you.
If you speak Spanish, just meet a young chick in your age range with no children and watch. It really won't be hard to have to beat them off with a stick, esp. if you look decent and have manners. Even better, meet some Colombian dudes in your age range. More than likely, one of them will speak some English. He will be your sympathetic dude. He'll be the one to take care of you (with regards to not getting robbed and meeting honest chicas). They WILL bring you to the type of chicks you want.
The older dudes won't get this type of experience. They SHOULD always be jaded. I go to Colombia often. Just got back last week. I never made an attempt to contact any local mongers. My preference. My local male friends are approx. 10 yrs younger than me (I'm in my mid 30s), really cool middle-class professional dudes. They make it a point to find the best non-pro chicas that they know, and introduce me. Their girlfriends do the same. Why? I treat them all with the utmost respect. Money DOESN'T mean shit with them (remember there are plenty of major narcos around). It's a win-win thing. They get local respect for knowing a cool American. I get the bill, sometimes. No problems at all paying $40-50USD for 3 hours of drinking, for 6-8 people. But I also get to meet the cream of the crop locally. No guarantees on what happens next, but generally I haven't been disappointed very often.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I'm only 23 (going on 24 in a few months. So I am still pretty young.

he apparently has some special insight into the inner desires of every colombiana. imho, colombianas are more diverse in desires than his post would lead you to believe. yes there are some jovencitas who will hang with abuelitos for the pesos but prefer jovenes, but there are also a fair number who genuinely prefer more mature guys. shit eating grin emoticon (i am middle aged but look younger). age preference runs the full spectrum in colombia, unlike in the wasteland where (because of our femanazi taught culture) any young babe going for an older guy is belittled for having a [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord901][CodeWord901][/url] complex.
just as some colombianas prefer colombianos but will hang with certain extranjeros, while other colombianas absolutely will not date colombianos (aka machistas), there is a whole spectrum of preference.
Having a beautiful Latin (Peruvian)wife less than 1/2 my age, I can say you both are correct. Her girlfriends,my wife and I often have this discussion. One of her girlfriends (a lawyer) will only date wealthy and "Married" peruvians twice her age. Another (also 25) would only date peruvian gangbangers who were 17/18.
The second one is now in love with my American friend who is 32 and middle class.
My wife comes from a poor but proud family and appreciates every thing I do for her and her family. I know she loves me for me and except for the fact that I can't drink beer and dance Salsa till 8.00 am, has no hangups about my age.
Her girlfriends are more interested in the "sexual" aspects of our relationship than the financial. (We Americans are percieved as lousy lovers).
I also have many "gringo" and Peruvian friends in their early 20's and my wife has absolutly no interest in them. On the reverse side there girlfriends do not seem to be interested in me!

Another point, Not a day goes by that 2-4 good looking adolescents either flirt with me (in a grocery store etc) or give me the (come hither) look on the street in front of their young boyfriends.

This is where Surfer's diversity in desires theory wins out. Regardless of your age,looks,personality, finances there is always a segment of the female population that finds you desireable and the only trick is finding them!

Enigma, your age is no problem. If you can speak Spanish and be a little charming, they will come.
Even if you can't do the above, they will still come. You just have to work a little harder and be less particular about the quality.
As a foreigner, there will be people who try and take advantage of you. This may not be simple to spot at first. Anyway, I would just suggest you be alert for it. You will meet a lot of genuinely nice, heart-warming people in Colombia, but just be conscious of peoples' motives and try and screen out the ones who are not.
Oh, and when I say taking advantage, I'm not talking about anything too awful. Usually just vivos trying to separate you from a bit of cash, or hook up with your girl.

Well, I also visit Colombia quite frequently as well as Venezuela ... I'm usually in South America at least 3 nights a week ... I've been down there for over 10 years now and I have muchos amigos (friends) also ... both men and women.
My take on the "age difference" question with these Latinas is like that of SURFER.
They all do not think the same.
Some of the chicas dig the guys their own age and some dig the older guys.
One of the reasons I hear for why they like an older guy is that they are perceived as being more faithful, more loving, and obviously more experienced at many things.
Yes, of course, in many cases, sure it has to do with the financial stability of an older guy; but to say that the "Latinas liking older men" is pure bullshit ... is in itself BS ... IMHO.
It's a well known facet of the latin culture.

Having stated the above I have discovered, and wish to share three good points.

Well, I will go to them first.
A few years back, some Colombians who lived in CTG told me about an english speaking dentist that was supposed to be very good and very reasonable. At the time they told me that a gringo could get service 24 hours a day. I will ask around when I am down there and see if I can find out who this wonder dentist is.

Sonria has clinics all over the country. There are 3 in Medellin including one on Cra. 70 in Laureles. There are 18 locations in Bogota.
I need to get my teeth cleaned & whitened & I'm going to need a dentist when I head down in Oct. I hope Sonria is not like the chains of Western Dental Or Access Dental here in Calif. where they do mostly welfare work thats crappy. They only hire Indian Dentists just out of dental school.
