Catire, thanks, you're right.
My friend, the Maracucha, when she speaks it sounds like this for example ... "cuando estas en Maracaibo, bucame" ... instead of "buscame" ... maybe she pronounces the 's' slightly ... anyway, it sounds kind of sexy to me.

Ricker and Catire, thanks for the good posts about language in Colombia : i currently have a (GF) who's from Santo Domingo and who speaks only spanish (i don't know only one word, but being French maybe help) : she perfectly understand the general meaning of my conversations when i speak portugese (i speak fluently from countless trips in Brasil), and i quite understand her when she speaks spanish: do you think it could be the same in Cali/Medellin ?
Thanks guys for the tips ;
Cheers
-
Pro ... I have lots of Brazillian friends in Miami and they understand me when I speak spanish to them ... the languages are similar.
It should be the same for a chica from Colombia as it is for your Dominican chica ... they'll get the general idea of what you're saying. I can't think of why it would be different for a Colombiana vs. a Dominicana.
If you speak fluent Portuguese, learning spanish should be a breeze ... I don't bother learning portuguese because I don't do Brazil enough and they pretty much understand spanish anyway ... I would rather just get better and better at spanish.
Suerte.

Ricker thanks, definitively Cali and Medellin are on my 'to do soon' list, thanks to all the posters of those Colombia threads.
Cheers

Spanish and Portuguese are very similar but Portuguese is a lot tougher. The pronunciation is more difficult. Still, most Brasilians can understand enough Spanish. My Portuguese sucks now that I haven't been to Brazil in months. I did the 90 Pimsleur Portuguese lessons and I took a weekend Portuguese class but Spanish is still a lot easier.
Ricker,
I want to hit Medellin. Everyone says the girls there are beautiful, the people are friendly and the city is beautiful. My non-pro novia emailed me today. She wants me to go to Cartegena with her and her mom next month for her vacation. I doubt I can make it though. I'll be in Peru.

Whats up fellas. Well the time is almost here. I will be in Cali Tuesday, March 16th at 5pm. Any last words of advice? I have read ALL thrity something pages of the Cali reports and taken notes on locations, prices, etc. So if anyone has any last minutes numbers, locations, connections or anything of the sort it will be well appreciated. And lastly if anyone wants to meet up while I am there send me a PM. Wish me luck, im off to practice some spanish!
-
... ahhhh yes, Medellin ... I absolutely love it there! It's a great place for all the things you mentioned, Saint. Luckily I guess, it's not really a haven for PFP (keeps out the rif-raf) ... Cali is much better as well as Cartagena.
Medellin is a city more geared for someone who has traveled, speaks better than just 100 words of spanish and enjoys people and music and culture. PFP is definitely available just not even close to the degree of Cali or Cartegena.
I have visited and practically lived in Colombia for the past, almost 3 years from Barranquilla, Cartegena to Bogota (not much time here) to Cali and finally Medellin ...
Like with your experiences in Cali ... people all over Colombia are very friendly ... especially if you can communicate with them in their language and sort of bond with them a bit.
Medellin is like the "south" in the USA ... sort of that "in the country" feel to it ... people are very friendly.
When people in the states think I'm nuts and ask me why I'm settling in Colombia, I try to explain to them the culture and yes, about the senoritas ... most people just don't get it, especially the gringas, they ever will. It has to be experienced.
When you make a friend in Colombia, he becomes your brother ... When you finally find a true novia / esposa Colombiana like my Paisa in Medellin, all I can say is ... you'll know what it feels like to be King and to be loved.
Sorry to ramble on here ... I just got on a roll. Lastly I want to say, I also travel quite a bit in Venezuela and I have to say that these Venezuelans too are very friendly and of course the women are beautiful and loving ... for some reason though, Colombia keeps me running back ... maybe it's my Paisa in Medellin calling me "papi lindo".
We'll see you soon ... Suerte!
-
Saint ... by the way ... I'm taking a few American buddies of mine to Cartagena next month ... they want to see why I always rave about "las Colombianas". I guess they'll find out.

Free Sex,
Have fun for me in Cali. The only advice I can give you is to take time and do other things. Don't just focus on the sex aspect of Colombia. The best part of Cali is the people. Even if you can't speak Spanish, hire that guide I listed in one of my last posts. (Felix: Celular (315) 573-4849 or home 325-0302). He speaks perfect English and seemed like a good guy. He also said he doesn't screw around on his wife which in Cali is saying A TON!!
Don't just stay in your hotel room. Go out and explore the city. I had very little down time which was the opposite of what a lot of guys that went to Cali told me. Go to Chipichape and Unicentro malls. Go up to Cristo Rey. Have Felix take you around the city a bit. Go and get a legit massage, manicure, pedicure, etc. at one of the dozens of Esteticas around town. Go eat at different restaurants around the city. Go to Avenidta Sexta and have a drink at night. Walk around if you feel comfortable. Go have a beer at Reggae Pop at night.
Most importantly, respect the locals and the way they do things. Also, respect yourself and don't do anything that would cause future Americans that visit Cali to be ashamed of you. I didn't post my diary/report to get a bunch of degenerate types in Cali but to share my experience of a wonderful city full of wonderful people. In fact, I think many of the degenerate type of gringos that hung out at the "Gringo Gulch" in CR wouldn't last a day here. I also don't think they would find it easy or fun.
In the end, I believe in the goodness of people. I think that if you follow that advice above you will have a good time.
Regarding the hobby. Go to a number of different places. Don't be afraid to ask the taxi or Felix which ones to go to. If you don't see any hot girls just leave. Don't feel locked into anything. Felix also told me he knows some private girls that don't work in clubs. That might be a good option for some of you. Regardless of what some people say about Flores Frescas it clearly has the hottest girls, IMHO. Check it out.
If you feel adventurous have Felix take you up to Kilometer Dieciocho (18). Better yet, if you meet a nice girl take her up there and eat up there. It's romantic and there are great views of the Andes Mountains.
Cali isn't a city you go to juts for sex. As I pointed out there are too many cities in the world that are easier and safer. Have fun and let us know how you are doing if you have time.
Best of luck.
Saint
P.S. Ricker, you're a lucky guy to live there. I hope to make some kind of move in the next few years. Right now though I have the best of both worlds. I want to see the world and I can't do that working outside of the USA. Thanks for all your information on South America.
FYI. Here is one of the sites that helped me decide to go to Cali:

Also, does anyone know how to price out tickets on Avianca's website? I entered Cali to Lima and I found the flight options on the dates I want but it doesn't seem to give a price. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
I called Avianca's local number there in Cali. (011-572-6511-300) but no one answers. I keep holding for an operator and the phone just hangs up.
Also, does anyone have a good travel agent in Cali that won't gouge me on prices? Preferable that she/he speaks some English but probably not so no biggie. Please PM me if you know of someone. Thanks.
Saint
P.S. UPDATE. I managed to call Avianca's toll-free number in the USA. The lady answered was in Medellin but spoke perfect English. She said the rates are the same whether buying here or there. Not sure if that is true but we'll see. The phone number for those interested is 1-800-284-2622.
FYI. A round-trip ticket from Cali to Lima via Bogota is $399.34 with taxes included.

Saint and Company,
First off, thanks for the advice! I have gone with the guide Ramon to show me Cali for the first night. Lots of people talk about him so I firgure ill give him a shot for a night or so, he what he comes up with. As for seeing Cali and the people, that is main reason I am going. As all of you can tell by member name (free sex) I am not a huge hobby fan, I would rather meet a chic, take her out, get to know her (maybe), then do the do. I arrive in cali Tuesday at 5pm.
After I unpack, the first place I am going to go is the mall all of you are speaking of. Then from there I will go where the wind takes me. I will start the disco/hobby thing later that night. Hmm, now that I think about it. I may actually get a legit massage, THEN go to the mall (this is going to be fun). But anyhow, everyone look out for my reports. Oh Saint and company I have a question for you. As you know I am staying at the same hotel you stayed at. How do you think I should work the phone thing, does Rigo have a phone I can rent while I am there? If so how much is it? Should I just give chicas the hotel number? obviously I want to be accesible to everyone that I meet in Cali via phone(24 hours if possible), so what do you think the best/afforable way is to approach the phone situation?
Another question, does anyone know the best disco to hit Tuesday night for non or amateur pros? And lastly, I have an Avianca office down the street from me. In my travels tommorow I will get a price for you on Cali to Peru. I remember you saying you will be in Cali in about 2 weeks, so I will get prices from around that date. Alright, im off to study some spanish, again.
-
Saint,
How much are you paying for pussy in Cali? I will be going to Cartagena in May or April may do a side trip to Cali.
I have a buddy who just bought a condo for $30k in Cartagena, might be a great spot to sit awhile?
-
Free Sex,
Cool. I'll PM you about the dates. I appreciate you checking prices. Hopefully they charge the same as the office in Cali. Keep in mind I'm a Cali rookie. I'm only giving you my advice. I don't claim to know much about Cali so I can only give you my opinions.
One thing I will point out is these hotties aren't just going to spread their legs and have sex because you're an American. Most of the super hotties that I met seem to be kind of shy and innocent. We assume every hottie just has tons of sex but that didn't seem to be the case in Cali. Remember that most young girls live at home with their parents under their watchful eye.
It takes time to cultivate a relationship especially if you are looking for sex. I'm not sure how long you are there for but go in it with realistic expectations. I think you're better shot might be to hook up with a pro and hopefully click with her. I'm not sure. I spent a lot of time with one of the pros I met but stopped once I clicked with my non-pro girlfriend.
As far as the hotel I stayed at. Make sure you go back a few reports and read the downsides. I think it's important to know everything going into a trip. I listed the negatives but I'd still happily recommend it to someone going to Cali their first trip. Rigo is a great guy. Ask him to use a cell phone for free. You can buy credits at the supermarket near the hotel or at any of the Bellsouth stands in the malls. Just tell the supermarket, "necesito comprar créditos para mi celluar. - Bellsouth". Or "necesito recargar mis créditos para mi cellular". One of the guys that is fluent can maybe give you a better way to ask. It was fine for me.
They come in 20,000 and higher credits. I'd recommend starting off with 20,000 pesos. You can easily buy more. I gave instructions on how to refill it on one of the reports. It's easy.
You should also keep in mind that the odds of a chica calling your cellphone is slim. Better to ask for their number. It's quite expensive for them to call your cell phone. Many girls did call my cell phone but some of them would call and let it ring then hang up but the phones all have caller ID so you can see who called. It's best to store their number in memory so you can see the name when they call. That way if you're already with a chica you can save yourself an embarrasing situation when another is calling. I learned that lesson a while back in Buenos Aires when I'd have girls calling all the time. If the girl asks why you're not answering it just tell her it's your friend and you don't want to talk to him now.
I'm not sure your level of Spanish but it needs to be pretty decent to crack the non-pro scene. The hotties will get bored quickly if you can't make them laugh, communicate and generally just converse with them. I'm not saying it's impossible but more of possible just not probable.
The malls don't really get hopping until night. The weeknights aren't nearly as busy as Friday and Saturday nights. I did go some afternoons and I saw some girls going there after they got off work. If you see someone you want to talk to get creative and think of a way to talk to her. Many times asking directions is the best way. Right off the bat they will know you are a foreigner and I found they were quick to want to help.
Many girls are often with their friends or boyfriends that I noticed. I didn't hit the normal clubs too much as I was busy on dates and stuff. Bring lots of nice blue jeans as they are what most of the local youth wears. I found they dress more casual at night then most cities I've been to in South America. In Buenos Aires people tend to dress up. Not the case here.
I can't emphasize enough not to expect to just score with the hottie non-pros immediately. As mentioned, many seemed like "nice girls". Like I said...there is a reason they are slaving away working 6-7 days a week for the amount some of these girls in the clubs are making in a few nights.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Saint
P.S. I'm not saying Ramon isn't a nice guy because as I stated in my report I met him and he seemed friendly and nice. However, I will honestly say that one of the dudes that goes down there told me that Ramon tried to constantly mooch and try to get him to buy him things. Also, as I said...the info he gave me about the other clubs was TOTALLY false and untrue. I went to the other clubs he told me were "equally as good as Flores Frescas". That wasn't even close to the truth. The other clubs sucked so I'm not sure if he gets some commission to go there.
I don't like being around BS'ers. I'm not saying Ramon is a bad guy. I just think he exxagerates the truth a little. I found that other guy, Felix to be honest and ethical. They charge around the same price. Use your best judgement.

Saint, thanks for the link (caliescali): i wish i could pack my bags today (unfortunatly i can't ...) ; pics are awesome, even if (please see no offense) IMHO those kind of girls can't be find, unless a miracle, for a two or three weeks visitor ; anyway it's still the dreams that make the world goes round, no ? :)
Cheers

Pro,
You're definitely right. You CAN't expect all those model type girls to be walking around. It was merely to show you that those girls are all from Cali. Most of the model hot girls need lots of time to discover and cultivate relationships. Often times guys think just because a girl is poor or in a tough situation that changes things. In all reality it doesn't. Girls are girls. No matter their profession, education, background. Relationships take time to develop. Good luck and safe travels.
