Yes, I will be in Santa Marta the last week of October as part of a visit to Cartagena. I agree that it is a lot easier to negotiate than MDE and the prices for everything from food to hotels to the ladies are quite reasonable. You might say there is not a lot to do in SMA but you could make the same argument for MDE but at least there is a beach and several nicer ones in the Tayrona National Park, if you have the time. This will be my third visit but it has been a few years since my last and that was pre Covid and before the Vennie invasion. At least, there are no Haitians there. LOL.

I plan to stay in Parque Lleras, hotel Du Parc. I know its a little expensive but I want to be near the action. I do not want to spend too much time traveling. I am working on lining up some SA chicks who will come to me. Would you agree that this is a good start for my first trip and get familiar with the things?

Day time, you can take a Uber to New Life near El Centro, see the map and list in Mojo's post. New Life has standard price, pay after and it is cheap. You don't have to take anyone, in that case, buy a drink to avoid the fee which is 4 mil when I last visited. When you are done, go to Plaza Botero for sightseeing and just observe some street actions, you don't need to participate, stay in the tourist area where you can see police. When it gets dark, you can try the strip club Conejita. This is just across the street from Plaza Botero. You can find pricing and more detail from Mojo's post. Another daytime place to go is Fantasia Energy at Laureles.

At night, you can go to La Isla. It's a high end strip club. It is more expensive but the price is fixed so you don't need to worry about scam. The striper will ask for tip after dance. I just give each 2 mil. You can grope them or interact with them. You can get 2 mil bills from the bar or the waiter can get it for you. If you see a girl you like, ask about service and take her to the room. The price should be fixed. You can pay by credit card at the bar. You can spend several hours here.

You can also check out Gusto other night after La Isla, go there and treat it like a bar in US. You don't have to take girl here and I don't recommend it. After La Isla, you view point probably already adjusted so you have less impulse paying higher price to take a girl here. Just search for the word Gusto to learn more.

All these places are used to Gringos so you should not have problem.

However they are always stationed and the choke points. They have really been cracking down lately. No drinking outside after 8. Cops have been hanging out late at night outside the parameter also. There is a sense of safety, but also a since of harassments as anyone that comes into the zone will have their backpack checked, and ask for ID. Girls are also disappearing at night. Most of them migrate towards the other side of Veracruz. Where all the bars are. Love motel closes at 9 I think, but you can get buzzed in, if so inclined too.

I am having some trouble and hope some of you can help me learn the strides of this great hobby.

The last time I was mongering was in 2010 in Cartagena, and I have great memories of going to la Dolce Vita and just looking at the menu and takings someone back to the hotel.

I have read that Haven is a great place that everyone recommends, but does anyone have any experience with Art Boutique Hotel? Company already has a room booked there for me and I wanted to ask if someone knows about their chica policy. Room is booked for 2 already though.

The last time I was in Cartagena I had a great time and the last chica I was with I spent 3 days with, also taking her back to Bogota. Besides all the fucking we were having loads of fun and she didn't; charge extra, so why not right? After some time out of action, we're back with a vengeance. Planning is underway for the next trip.

Personal preference is natural and petite. To be complete honest, prefer Slavic looks, but South American culture / attitude.

I've RTFF and set up a new FB account. Have started adding people from MDE, but progress has been slow. I've been reluctant to upload photos of myself, so the profile probably feels fake. I'm not a club guy, more of a casa / FB guy, which is why I wasn't planning on Poblado. But finding information on casas is pretty tough. And still waiting on the breakthrough on FB. My lack of Spanish is also going to hinder me I suspect.

Truth be told, COVID has been a real *****, and if I can even find one or two ladies who I click with, I'd be happy and repeat for the full trip.

I recommend the telenovela (soap opera) "Las Munecas de la Mafia," as it is set in Colombia, in and around Medellin and you will hear the accents in the area, the production values are excellent, and the women are gorgeous. Try Ebay. If you can get a subtitled version, fine, but if not, get it anyway and focus on context and picking up phrases.

Learn the exchange rate and start getting comfortable with the money and what things cost. The largest denomination bill is a 50,000 COP, but remember to always have smaller denominations with you, especially at night, so you don't have to overpay for cabs and stuff. 10 ks, 20 k's, and 50 ks are your most useful bills.

See if you can get booked into the Medellin Mansion, or whatever it is calling itself these days. Yes, everyone outgrows it eventually, but for your first trip, it is very good. You'll get breakfast, you will have an instant support network with the staff, and you will benefit from the experience of other guests. You might make a couple of new monger friends you will want to return with. And it is a safe place to meet new talent. Since you are an experienced Thailand traveler, you will want to "take the training wheels off" and probably branch out into other neighborhoods and renting a solo or double apartment on your second trip, or as soon as you learn Spanish.

Study the maps and learn where things are in relation to each other: Poblado to Centro, Centro to Laureles, and how everything is connected by the Metro. And what you should pay for cabfare between destinations.

Figure out your comfort level. If you like to drink, maybe you don't want to do it, or do to much when you are with a new girl. How comfortable are you with drugs like herb and Tusi?

There is an old shore leave expression: "Nothing good happens to you when you are out wandering around after _ o'clock. " Depending on where you are, and who you are, and your comfort level for danger, decide if it is 10 o'clock, or 1 o'clock in the morning, or 4 o'clock in the morning.

I am planning my trip for next week and my understanding from everything I've read so far is to come prepared by creating a friend list and contacts for when you visit Medellin. I'm not at all social media savvy and I would rather not go through this process. I do not own a FB account and created one just in preparation for the trip. I am really bad at texting. When I'm going to a chica I'm trying to avoid rejection that I usually face.

I can understand where she is coming from by saying canson. They probably have so many people adding them and asking the same questions over and over again. My intention is not to bother her, but to know if she works and if I can have her as an option to plan my trip. My preference would be a place where you go and the process is as uncomplicated as possible. No prior preparation necessary. In a safe location. I'd rather not go through the whole Facebook process, but from what I've learned it is one of the most important aspects of trip preparation. If I didn't get this right correct me.
