Thanks for the reponse Iseeu, I offer a reply to your comments below.
Personally, I have no issue with the current forum setup. Yes, it could be streamlined and using a newer version of the SW would make it easier to post colorful posts. Actually, I like having to search through multiple posts and redundant questions since it gives me a chance to revisit the threads that I'm searching through, though I can understand the desire to restructure the listings to make it easier to locate a particular morsel of information.
I do have issues with the current setup of this forum. It is far too cumbersome and unclear for all members, old and new. We have clubs like FKK Mondial which I believe is now defunct represented as if it is alive and kicking and at the same level as FKK Oase, FKK Palace and FKK World. Even the idea that a small club like FKK Lancelot, which I believe at least is still in existance, should be represented at the same level as the big clubs is frankly crazy. Surely it would be possible to at least get agreement amongst members to remove clubs which are now defunct.
BTW, grouping clubs via German geographic areas makes sense in a German or European forum, but I'm not sure that it would be helpful to new visitors here, many of whom live far away from the continent and have limited knowledge of German geography.
Again I disagree. You are arguing that the forum should be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator or the lowest level of intelligence. If German geographic regions are unacceptable, why even bother dividing Europe into seperate countries? Lets take your point one step further. To help the seriously dumb and stupid... why not draw a line from the French Atlantic coast eastward through Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Romania to the Black Sea and simply have two areas in Europe... North Europe and South Europe. Some North Americans (I believe) would have difficulty pointing to Denmark on a map. If we take this new approach they would only have to know that the place called Denmark was somewhere in North Europe! :) To me it seems sensible to group clubs by geographical region in order to suggest what establishments can be visited on a trip to Frankfurt or Dusseldorf or Hamburg etc. It does make sense to know that Sauna Club GoldenTime, Sauna Club LivingRoom, Sauna Club Planet Happy Garden and FKK Villa Vertigo are located in the same approximate area and can be visited as a group over the course of a few days.
I've had dealings with Jackson on this issue in the past, and I periodically correspond with him, asking him to delete extinct clubs and add in new ones. Sometimes, he makes the necessary changes, sometimes he doesn't, and sometimes he only makes some of them. Apparently, this thread is not a major priority for him, and I doubt that he will invest alot of time or add bandwidth in restructuring it as has been suggested here.
In any case, I doubt that we will reach a consensus amongst the members here about the most desired method to reorganize this thread, and until we do it wouldn't make sense to ping Jackson with this request. I will ping him soon (again) to add Mainhattan, Das5, PSR and Sharks, and to remove clubs like Cocoon, Atlantis, Wiago and PSW.
Thank you for your endeavours in getting Jackson to make updates to the Germany - FKK Clubs Forum BUT I gotta tell you that this piece meal approach to making changes is far from perfect. I would argue that rather than reach a complete consensus amongst every ISG member who has posted in the Germany - FKK Clubs Forum, a group of Senior Members which need not necessarily include myself, should get in touch with Jackson and request a minimum set of sensible changes, some of which have been already suggested. With every respect intended, surely Jackson understands that constant improvement to any service or product is always desirable. There is a lot of out of date information and not only in this Forum alone. Surely it is wise to put this right? Another concern I have with regard to this matter, is that it is self evident to many members that some changes to the Germany - FKK Clubs Forum would be desirable. It would be easy for me to continue to argue this case (very easy) BUT this would become boring and unless further comments arouse my interest, I intend to let this matter drop. But do heed my words... Change happens and must be responsed to. Not making sufficient improvements to this forum and all forums in ISG is not a good idea. As usual all comments and criticisms are intended to be constructive.
