really there has been no substitute. some of the traffic has gone to the balcony bar but only the really rough stuff. the 3 or 4 times that i have passed the balcony bar it has been really bad. really scraping the barrel. the better help girls won't go there because the whole world can see in when they pass the balcony bar, it is too open. at least at help they had some protection from being inside a club.
in my opinion there is a lot less working girls in copacabana now. i personally spend most of my time in centro now. the usual big clubs but also there are a ton of smaller clubs where it costs r$10 to enter and if you go to say 3 or 4 you can fine a real cutie to your liking for less than r$ 100. bascially the small clubs only have 6 to 10 girls if they are lucky, but the quality is similar to that of the bigger clubs, they just don't have 50 to 100 girls where it is easy to find something you like.
don't ask me which clubs i go to specifically because it varies a lot, but just go this the " b*tch map" click on rio and it will give you a ton of choices in centro. just print it out and go for a wander.

you are right about this. i knew girls who had regular jobs during the daytime but they would work in help 2-3 times a week to make extra money. those girls would damn near sprint from the taxi to the entrance to help because they didnt want to take the chance of being seen. they loved working in help because they knew that regular brasilians would never go into help, so no chance of being seen by a neighbor or a co-worker. those same girls can never work balcony because its too out in the open.

New Disco Opening....
My boots-on-the-ground reporter in Rio called me a few minutes ago with news that the word on the street is a new disco is opening somewhere between the Museo de Cine e Som and the Copacabana Palace Hotel, nearer to the hotel. Word is it will be bigger then HELP and will be open by October. I'll be in Rio next week for a 2 day recce run and see what I C. As with most things in Brasil/Rio, only time will tell.

Yes, I agree. Help was a great venue for our hobby. I have yet to experience any post-Help action, since I was last there in Nov. 2009. Next week, I am due in Rio.

Termas Solarium

I always look forward to Mondays on my Rio trips more than any other day. It's one of the only times I ever go to Solarium. As they have raised prices, they have also lowered their discount for Mondays. It used to be a discount for the full price of a 40-minute cabine ($R70 at the time). Now it's only 50% off the price of the 40-minute cabine, which now comes out to $R40.
I figured 6:30p would be a good time to get there. By then, all the girls on every shift should be on duty. I hopped on the 512 bus from Ipanema Posto 6, which took 35 minutes to get to Jardim Botanico. Nowadays, I always take the bus to Solarium because frankly, everything is getting so expensive around here! If I take a cab, it will end up being probably $R35 round trip instead of $R4,70. As Hughdad once aptly put it, it's [i][color=red]trimming the price of trim[/color][/i], and I'll do it anyway I can with coupons, cheap transportation, etc.
Once I got into the boite, there didn't seem to be that many girls. I don't know if it is because it is winter right now, or it's cold and rainy outside, but I think at its peak tonight, there were about 22 girls. Seems more like volume for a Sunday night. I thought there usually is closer to 40+ girls on weekdays there. One plus was, at 9:30p, there were 20 girls and only 5 guys in the boite, so a really good ratio. The downside was the atmosphere was kind of a dud. The lineup was good, but I wouldn't say as good as in the past. There were probably 3 girls I would definitely session with in the future, and a only a couple of others I would put on my reserve list.
I ended up taking Suzy to the cabine. I sessioned with her before and it was pretty memorable. She's tall, with dark hair and amazing green eyes. This session was very good (9/10). Of course I inquired about programma at my apartment and we kicked around some prices. She kept wanting $R300 for 1 hour, saying she has to travel far from work to my place so it would eat into her profits. I politely said I'd think about it, which means I ain't gonna do it. I guess logistically, it would be better for me to try to pull a Centaurus girl since she has no travel expenses to my apartment - it's only 2 blocks away! Ha.
So the damage for the night, with the new pricing structure was:

i woke up early today to go to centro and hit some of the more affordable massagens on rio branco. i wanted to get there before 11a to hopefully see a full lineup at these places before the lunch rush hour. i took the subway metro to the carioca station exit. i arrived right at 11a.
these massage places are generally in the big office buildings and most seem to be on a floor that is not directly accessible by the main elevator. for instance, to get to suite 3320, you have to take the main elevator to floor 32 and then take a service elevator to floor 33.
so i started hitting these places in ascending order. felt a little like bruce lee in the "game of death" as he steadily went up each floor of the pagoda to meet his opponents.

I have been to maybe 30 places in the last months, generally go to Centro once or twice a weeak and search out 2 or 3 new places, if I don't find something I go to a regular. Have found about 5 really cute girls that I have or intend to repeat. Rio - Salvador
I have a question about going from Rio - Salvador, so I hope this is the right forum. I will be in Rio in early November for several days, but I plan to go to Salvador for 4 days during that time (from Santos Dumont). I already have purchased my international ticket. However, should I buy the Rio-SSA ticket here (in London), or should I wait till I get to Rio on Sat 30th Nov, and then buy the domestic ticket for Monday Nov 1? I'm sure there will be more choice once I'm there, but I'm notsure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
