o. k, i'm probably going to bore anyone here who spends time in north jakarta, but for the benefit of anyone like me who doesn't know much outside of blok m and the four / five star hotel scene, here goes.

jakarta after dark (jad) offers tours of the nightlife in jakarta. see the classified section here or his website, [url]www.jakartaafterdark.com[/url], for more details.

jad was at my hotel promptly at 7:00 pm yesterday. we headed first to kings cross, in west jakarta (kelapagading). the trip there was memorable, past nice houses, lakes, and colonial looking architecture. i'd never seen this part of jakarta before.

there were several clubs in the area where we stopped. we headed to king's cross. women were available for 300, 000 to 550, 000 rp. for an hour and were reasonably attractive. the facilities were good.

next stop was alexis, north of downtown. this was more upscale, and consisted of a club, massage, and brothel in the same building. the outstanding feature of alexis was the pool and spa. it was really nice and you could head there with your date after making your selection. prices ran from 950, 000 for indonesians to 1. 9 million for foreigners, primarily prc with a few thais. the indonesians in king's cross were actually more attractive on average than the natives i saw in alexis.

the final stop was the most intriguing. marlioboro was like alexis on speed. the strip club within the building was on par with a really good gentlemen's club in the usa the separate bars had nice selections of women of various nationalities, even about 8 colombians. on average, the women were better looking that the other places. and if you go there in late evening from the central business district, it's only about a 15 minute trip, assuming traffic's not bad. there was one bar in the building where indonesians available for 350, 000, and another bar with natives costing 800, 000, and the foreigners costing 1. 5 million or so, i think.

having jad along was great. he's a great conversationalist on whatever subject, indonesian finance or politics or whatever. and he knows how the system works. i have spent some time in past years in north jakarta in today's country and clubs on jalan mangga besar. i couldn't communicate with the girls or the mamasan's, didn't even know you're supposed to ask the mammasan's for line-ups, and sometimes was frustrated with the process. so jad was a big help with that.

the tour was supposed to last for 3 hours but went for 5-1/2, and the reason it ended then is because i've got a lot to do today and couldn't stay out all night. i believe jad treats his other clients with similar consideration.

I'm leaving within a few weeks for Jakarta and one of my friends advised me the "Classic Hotel", JL K. H. Samanhudi. Has anyone experience with this hotel and the nightlife (girls) in the neighbourhood?

Charles 49, Hotel Classic would have to be one of the Top 3 places to visit whilst in Jakarta. I actually rate it the best as it has around 250 ceweks, decent clean rooms 8 pool tables, huge bar area and you get 2 ceweks for 400 ribu, otherwise if you aren't feeling greedy 1 for 270 ribu. There are apparently 2 Hotel Classics so ask for the one at Pasar Baru. When you arrive walk up the elevators to the 2nd floor. Don't go to the Bunker which is on the ground floor as it is way more expensive with imports.

Another place to visit is the Travel Hotel on Jl Mangga Besar VIII same sort of set up but no 2 for 400 act but fully recommendable as they have over 200 ceweks. Don't get hassled by the mamasans and get lumbered with a cewek straight away just tell her you want to have a look first but they never listen anyway. HT is 285 ribu for one cewek in ordinary room or 310 for one with executive room. There are six executive rooms which used to be karaoke rooms but are now the most arty farty funkiest rooms you will ever come across. I reckon the guy who designed these rooms was gay and on acid. These rooms are about 3 times as large as a normal room with 100cm tv and complete ensuite. They must have used half a mountain of granite and marble on this hotel. Got to give it to the Chinese as they definately have the best complete entertainment venues.

Another place to hit during the day not night time is Kota Indah which has 4 main bars, MTR, LA, Sari Ayu and one other which I forget right now. I always park my car at Lokasari shopping centre and jump on a ojek to kota indah as its way easier with the traffic jams etc. 10 ribu one way and all of the riders know where it is.

I forgot to mention one of the dancers that comes on after 18. 00 has the biggest bestest tits I have ever seen whilst I have been in Indo for the last 23 years. For 1. 2 jta you can ask for one of the dancers as I tried to get her just for those fun bags but alas she knocked me back as a lot of them prefer to be with the Chinese. We bules are all stereotyped with big dicks and wanting to stick it up their blurters. Some hot dancers though!

C49, Too expensive but if you need to indulge be prepared to fork out around 2 jta. If you must, you play around till 12 midnight then take one back as it will cost you around 800k after 12. If before 12 your looking at 2 jta. Thats how it is at the HT so I'm just supposing its the same at the HC.

Best way is find out if the girl has her own kost as you get her hp no. And arrange for some freelancing after she knocks off. If the girl stays in the mess, company accomm, then you have no hope but have to go thru the right channels (her mamasan). Depending on the girl you will be looking at 500. 1jta+ LT. Whatever you do keep away from the girls on the motorbike and boyfriend act which you will see around town as they are extortionists.

There is a lot of effort made by many by putting up posts here and don't you think its unfair to them, when a newbie just asks for info without even going through the posts. You can search for Classic hotel by using the search tool here and you will get the required info.
