If you really want a vacation, I would recommend Pattaya over AC. While the women in AC are really nice, and it is cheaper than Thailand - there is little to do other than go to clubs. Compared to Pattaya - no beaches, no real selection of restaurants, and limited entertainment (just the clubs).
Hotels also are not of the same standard as Pattaya - Lewis Grand versus Marriott Pattaya is not even a close comparison.
Just back from a quick 3 night trip to AC. The summary:
Total time in town: 56 hours
Number of girls: 4 total; 2 repeats and 2 new discoveries; 3 barfines and one hotel waitress.
Number of pops: 10
Number of BJs: ZERO
Number of texts sent: Not sure, but well over 100
Number of bars visited: 6 (it's easy when you know what you want and where it is)
Number of beers consumed: around 8 (I don't drink much there; I have beer at home)
Anxious to return: HELL YES

ABC is a "love it or hate it" deal. I hate it. The prices are not just high, they are absurd for what you get. The rooms are no larger or nicer than other places at 1/2 the price (PB for example, and if you're willing to sacrifice the pool, you can save even more at other places). Plus, you get the added bonus of being further away from the Fields Ave bars. I stayed there a couple of times, but decided it was a waste of money. It's not about the money really, it's more about the VALUE for that money. And to me, ABC does not add much value for that added cost. Since then I've stayed at Pacific Breeze, Valentino's, Royal Amsterdam, 950 Condotel, Le Mirage, Orange Lion, all at various levels of approval or disapproval. But I'd look at all of them before I'd look at ABC again.
Yes, if I wanted a family vacation I would consider Pattaya or even Phuket over AC. Hotels are better and food in general also. This is the one thing why I delayed my first visit to AC. However, IMO, pinoy girls are way better. Better GFE, better English and therefore less of a challenge to mentally connect. Since discovering pinoy girls, I never looked back to Thai girls. No doubt there are many other GFE options around the world, but often the main advantage of Pinoy girls are their standard of English comparably. If you don't know (or for your short trip, not willing to learn) the native language, Philippines are the best option for low cost GFE girls.
The one thing I hate about Pattaya is the long transfers from airport to Pattaya. Its like Manila to AC. Worse, is the eye gouging official taxi prices.

so take a bus for 150b (i think it's around gate 8, ground floor, there are signs), or get the number of one of those 800 baht operators in pattaya. i wouldn't be surprised if there were vans running also.
the 300 to 400 pesos that taxis in ac charge for airport transfers galls me more.

Was in there the other day, and for a long time it has been a favorite watering hole.
I guess the lack of biz is starting to effect some of the less well mannered ladies there.
One in particular, really got under my skin, with her bull s**t attitude.
Can not recall any other time, being hassled for drinks to that extent.
The lack of customers and Christmas do not make for happy campers.
Fortunately there are many other bars, where the Wait staff are better mannered!

I met through Girls that weren't CG's I'd get to talking to the CG's when back at the bar that would tell me they'd give me great sip-sip, no problem, or I might see them at the Mall and tell them we'd hook up that night for food and dinero. If you get 2 cg's they are usually all about practicing their skill and they might be watching TV while they do it. REMEMBER that these girls don't want a huge load of young man spunk but a light load from and old man. It seems like they are training each other. They like the challenge of pulling a light load out rather than a quick, sure spunkload. ONE THING FOR SURE..and I saw it happen to a resident of AC...if you probe one of these girls inappropriately (it sounds crazy) like shove a finger in an oriface and IF you cause them to lose their cherry you will be paying a sh*^load of money to her bar and maybe the cops will get involved.

I've been to both locations (more to Pattaya than AC) but I feel that if the vacationer is going purely for the action than AC can't be beat. I admit that during the dry season, AC is nothing than a dust bowl and wet season, it's one big mud pit but with all the bars and willing women makes it worthwhile. Pattaya women have gotten too hard core from all the years I've been there and seen the changes myself.
Given a choice, it will be AC (until somewhere else better cums along)--IMHO

In other words there is a very good chance of getting scammed by fucked up bar girls in AC. Now that Christmas is here and they're already hungry from a lack of customers in the previous months there is a high probability that your probing will be considered inappropriate. Head to LOS if you're not good at picking up on potential cherry scams.

I'll be going to AC for the first time and I'm wondering what is the appropriate tip for bartenders. Also I see in pictures where there are buckets of balls on the bar in front of where the girls dance. What is that for?

I am aware of cheaper options, in fact my transfers are free cos I have a friend to pick me up.
But I just hate how "the official taxis can get away with charging so much", and no doubt, many unsuspecting tourist probably use them thinking that it is the going rate, when in fact the going rate is much lower, private cabs, or other.
Yes, 300p isn't great, but at DMIA, you are not bombarded with "official taxi signs" that offer the same service for 1000p.

This is been repeated. AC has changed, runners, cherry girls, scams, hotels, for the holiday girls go home, Pattaya is perdicatable. The one benefit AC has and that is only if you speak english. Communiciations is easier. I Smile here in that half the girls will agree to everything in the bar and change in the room. But the great part of this is call choice. Enjoy

Well, there are plenty of mongers out there who will pay 50k Pesos and up to pop a cherry.
These girls know that.
Furthermore, for some of these girls, it is the only thing of value that they have. They are otherwise dirt poor.
So if you pop it, then you are depriving someone who is really poor of probably the only chance they will ever have of seeing that sort of money (at one time) in their entire lives.
That money would be the wages of a shop assistant in SM Mall for a year.
Think about it - if you had something worth one year of your wages and someone stuck a finger in it and made it almost worthless in comparison, would you not want the person that stuck their finger in to pay you for the damage?
It is only a scam if they really are not virgins at the time.
Oh, and even if you had to pay the 50k peso - that is not that bad a price for a virgin really. Just imagine what you would have to pay back home...as many guys here who married 'em found out to their cost.

Member 1319 - The Phils is not a tipping culture, but if you tip 20P it is appreciated. If you tip less, nobody gets upset in most bars, and if they do, move on - there are plenty out there. Also, if you go to a bar regularly and the waitress 'helps' you find ladies not on their mens and not cherry girls, they obviously deserve something extra. If a waitress or mamasan helps you select a lady, then that may save you many pesos and much time. You can also buy nuts and sweets for them from the vendors in the bars (20P), if you have a regular bar and a very helpful waitress or mamasan who makes sure you are not led astray, you can also buy cheap presents from the roadside stalls as well.
The buckets of balls are meant to be purchased for (300P usually) throwing at the girls - they get some P for every ball they catch, so the 'fun' is watching them scrabble for the balls for 20 seconds or so. I don't waste my time since I figure I can get more than 20 seconds of fun per 300P spent elsewhere - but whatever floats your boat. If you try it, you might like it.
Ok-So, I'm going to be spending New Year's in Angeles City. Any recommendations on the best places to go? I've been reading that many working chicas go home for the holidays. Is that true?
