Just to be sure, I am not usually out that late at night, but if I am, the I will walk along side the buildings where you can only get attacked from one less side and be aware of the bushes and statures on the other side. The diagonal way you have mentioned is indeed dangerous, because there are too many hiding spots to attack from. What I have heard its where others have been mugged and robed.

Yea even the homeless people in that area are sketchy late at night if they are awake, want to know why? Because they are all high on glue, coke, or some other thing. All this makes for a bit more dangerous.

The bright side is that, late at night, I have seen police out patrolling, after midnight. Things have become much safer since I have been here, and lot more safer since the last time I was here. That is not to say that you should ever let your guard down.

To be sure, I still enjoy both areas, in fact picked up a pretty one next day around the south side of the Plaza at 2 pm, but no more late night outings there for sure. He ended up being murdured just outside his new home. Some people say he was murdured for his gold chain that he was wearing but there was also lots of specualtiong that this was just a cover becuase after his death the woman now owns the property. I do not know if anyone found out the truth.

Now when it comes to dealing with professionals you must assume that they would steal from you if given the oppurtunity. You do not suspect that they might, you assume that they will. That does not mean that you should not repeat. It means you keep your shit secure and your AO sewed up tight. Use a building that has security etc. In your situation where you offer to test them. I think Tass deserves to be thanked for writing what happened to him in el centro. The reality is el centro is dangerous for anyone.
