and the ones who will drive a country mile for a piece of tail.
How about the guys who take a 3 1/2 hour airplane ride that costs $300-$500 for a piece of Dominican tail? Maybe you believe all tail is the same. Some mongers who never travel out of the US would say why spend all that money on airfare, hotels, rental car etc, to travel to DR, they would say tail is tail, there all the same. Most American cities have tail that can be bought for less than $100US.
I guess if Beyonce offered her pussy for $100 and she was a 2 hour drive away and you had another offer from Whoopi Goldberg for $30 and she was a 5 minute drive away, seems you wouldn't want to "drive a country mile" to meet Beyonce's tail, but might drive those 5 minutes to be with Whoopi, LOL.
I just searched the thread for the number: 809-537-0000. I called and was quoted 1, 000 pesos, much better. I hate over paying for shit just because I'm not a local. I only recommend this route if you spanish skills are good. Mine are good at times (after a few beers) and it was still a bit difficult.
Across the street from the Capella entrance is a gift store where the owner exchanges money, you can also buy phone cards there for claro or orange. Usually motoconcho guys waiting near that gift shop. If you walk to your right when exiting the Capella you will see the Hemingway condominium building and if you continue to walk on that road you will see a few small plazas, with pharmacies and restaurants. I ate at a nice restaurant there one night. Mostly well off Dominicans will be in those restaurants on the weekend.
So, after dinner, about 7:30pm, I walked across the street from the Hotel Barcelo Capella Resort to the said store to exchange some money. They offered 36. 50 pesos to $1, which is slightly better than the hotel's rate of 35. 80pesos/$1.
I was thinking about using some of those pesos to hire a motorconcho to go to Caprichios or El Caucho. As soon as I walked out and took a few steps, I heard a female voice saying hola to me. I didn't stop, only turned around to say Hi to this lone chica hanging outside of the store. Then she whistled at me again. So this cat and mouse game lasted a bit then I stopped so she could catch up to me. She told me her name was Miguelita. Under the dim street light I could see her pretty face and tight body. So we negotiated 1500 pesos for a "complete massage." Since Capella charges money to bring chicas in, she told us we had to use a cabana nearby, which also meant I had to pay for cab fare. The cabana is called Plaza Quisqueya, probably 2 miles or so west on the Boulevard. Paid 450 pesos to the management in exchange for use of a room, two towels and condoms.
Miguelita first gave me a detailed back massage. Really just a dry rub and not a very good one at that. After the flip she did take her time kissing me all over. BBBJ started out slow and sensual, then strong and fast. Miguelita has a good sense of rhythm! Then CG, then mish, and I'm done for.
Total damage: 1600 pesos for her service (gave her an extra 100 for fotos).450 pesos for the cabana, and 600 pesos for the round-trip cab fare. I don't have a problem with the 1600 pesos, Miguelita did her thing and she is a pleasant girl. However, after the add-ons the total became 2650 pesos = $73, pretty much the same as a "short visit" with a Backpage girl back home in the States. Being my first night, I'll give that a pass. Not so the rest of my trip, I didn't come to the DR to pay USA prices.
An hour later I walked back across to the store to get a few small items. This time it had gotten busy! Now there were about 4 or 5 girls. Miguelita was still there; there was a girl with a giant ass wearing denim shorts; a tall girl with a really pretty face, and a couple of other 6's. The girls were really vocal now and trying to chat me up. I told them manana, and thought to myself, these chicks are hot! But I need to spend less than $70 total for a pop! Where can I cut the costs? Obviously I need to talk down the fare with the cab driver.
I will post photos after leaving town. The hotel wifi is painfully slow.
What days and nights Santo Domingo is jumping on. Me and wingman are tring to figure out which one we should go Santo Domingo or Boca Chica, or both. Which one is jumping the most on Fri and sat. We wil be down there This Friday for 4 nights.
Santo Domingo is city with a population of over 2, 000, 000 + habitants with lot of clubs, discos, casas, bars, across the city. Boca Chica is a beach town with a couple of streets with bars, hotels, restaurants etc. Locals visit the beach on weekends so Boca will be nice on Saturday-Sunday. Santo Domingo is jumping on Friday, Saturday, Sunday being Saturday the best day. Santo Domingo is not Gazcue and zona colonial only, Santo Domingo has clubs on Venezuela and San Vicente Avenue, across the miles of Independencia ave, on Lincoln Ave. 27 de Febrero Avenue, Winston Churchill Ave, Roberto Pastoriza Ave. And a lot other places.
I had a great time on Avenida Venezuela ave. Visiting near a dozen clubs on one night, walking from club to club. You can easily meet a local on most places. I recomend you to stay on the city this time because Sunday is Carnival Day on the city. You can pay a visit to Boca Saturday morning for a beach day or Friday night to sense its nightlife.
.................Santo Domingo is not Gazcue and zona colonial only,.......
With all due respect to you Sir for newbies and those not fluent in Spanish Santo Domingo is Gazcue and the zona. No way in this world would I suggest to a couple of newbie gringos take a cab and hang out on avenida venezula, just no way.

In fact, thanks to their advise I visited the avenue on my next trip. If Stebo do not feel confident travelling outside the city touristic area (Gazcue-Colonial) they still will have a great time in the touristic area.
BQ, how is the street scene this time compared with your last trip?

My posts come from a person who does not speak the lingo, not one who knows the Latin culture so I think my feelings about SD and rep dom come from a different angle. If I was fluent in the language, knew how to dance bachata and merengue I would be posting something totally different.
I believe you have a trip coming up soon and you will be able to judge for yourself. My opinion is avenida independencia and the malecon will never again be what they used to be.
Hello, Everyone,
I will be in Santo Domingo in 3 weeks. Does anyone have information on cheap ride from airport to Santo Domingo the city? Does anyone know of any bus ride to the city. How does the local people travel to the city?
Please help.
Thank you
Pre-crackdown, there were many, many, many streetwalkers on Avenida Independencia between the Hostal Riazor and La Casona Dorada Hotel. 100 or more streetwalkers. On my last trip I saw 4 SWs on that same stretch of Avenida Independencia. I was told those 100 or more prior SWs that used to be on that section of Independencia would take 1000 pesos ($27US).
Any newbies who are considering a trip to Santo Domingo and who are only interested in 1000 pesos chicas that can only be found on Independencia between Hostal Riazor and the La Casona Dorado Hotel, might want to consider other locations, like boca chica or sosua.
If a newbie who is considering a visit to SDQ dislikes casas (excluding GBP and Casa Australia) , then he might want to consider boca chica and sosua.
600 ($16US) pesos is too much for a 4mile taxi ride. Find a somewhat decent motoconcho guy, same trip on a motoconcho 100 pesos. I have seen plenty of times, three people on a motoconcho. Depending on how many other tourists are in town. 1500 is not a bad price. As you get more experience you can negotiate some down to 1000-1200 pesos. 450 pesos ($12US) is not a bad price for a cabana rental.
If you think you might want to do multiply chicas in a day in Juan Dolio, then you might want to rent out a $35 per night room at the caribe paraiso hotel, if they have one available. Caribe Paraiso is located near the public beach and pros hang out there, showgirls is there and el caucho is two blocks away. If you meet chicas in that area you can walk them to the hotel and save on transportation. I would only rent a room there, if you are sure you want to do multiple chicas in the same day.
I bought a SIM card at Claro at the airport that had maybe 200 pesos in minutes included for around 480 pesos. I installed that SIM into my unlocked Nokia and it worked perfect. Maybe your Blackberry is not 100% unblocked.
You can ask around if there are any other low cost room rentals closer to where you will be mongering. The only cabana I saw was off the main highway and not near the main area in Juan Dolio.

Santo domingo is a big city, independencia is the only area where there are SW? That can't be right. There must be other areas that will have SW.
Sosua has 2 casas / casa like places that are open during the day, CMP and Passions massage. Sosua has several 500 pesos blowjob places that are open during the day. Sosua has a beach that is within 5 minutes of the hotels.
Sosua has Classicos which gets going around midnight. Classicos can get crowded, wall to wall people, where you get pushed and shoved by both chicas and other male tourists, as they walk around the place. The hotter looking chicas in Classicos will probably ask for 2500 pesos or more. Classicos can almost be described as an over crowded casa with bad air conditioning (owned by a guy who probably had an American killed). Sosua also has D'Latinos (chicas tried to pickpocket me there) , Rhumba and El Flow. Lots of pros in Sosua. From what I read, not much daytime action in Sosua and if you want to get your groove on at 5am in Sosua there will be slim pickings at that hour.

Hi Jaosousa.

I have seen streetwalkers on Independencia from the malecon center to the cemetery near zona colonial. Groups of streetwalkers can also be found on the malecon near avenida churchill, on avenida churchill and side streets near avenida churchill, near the malecon. To get to churchill and the malecon from gazcue you will need a car or take a taxi.
You can check el conde for SWs. On the other side of the river in santo domingo east there may be streets with SWs.
If there were zero SWs in SDQ, wouldn't bother me one bit.
Hi Jaosousa.
Santo domingo is a big city, independencia is the only area where there are SW? That can't be right. There must be other areas that will have SW.
Santo Domingo is in fact a big city. Once you leave the 1/8 square mile of southern Gazcue that dominates these pages. I will leave it to the experts here to do the geography for you, or you may do better with Google Maps. You can find what you asked for at:
- Villa Duarte (steps leading to Rio Ozama)
- Feria.
- Ensanche Isabelita (Avenida Espana & north to Charles DeGaulle bridge)
- Charles DeGaulle (west side, from the bridge to the car washes just south of San Isidro)
- Parque Independencia.
- Malecon (west of Vesuvios Restaurant)
NOT RECOMMENDED for reasons of health & safety:
- Avenida Duarte (near calle Paris)
- Villa Agricola (Maximo Gomez north of the cemetery)
- Herrera (calle Isabel Aguilar)
OK if you like transvestites.
- Ensanche La Fe (west of Maximo Gomez, east of Ortega why Gasset near calle Paraguay)
- Villa Juana (east of Maximo Gomez near the cemetery and across from calle Arturo Logrono)
- Zona Colonial, Palo Hincado & calle Canela
