Sunday March 6.
Avenida George Washington (el malecon)
Santo Domingo Centro.
Early afternoon to a little after dark.
Free, safe, and fun.
Bring a chica and her kids as you will probably be well rewarded.
Enjoy the parade but keep VERY close track of your wallet, your camera, your cellphone, and anything else not attached to your body. Snatch and run robberies and pickpockets are widespread. Police protection has been much better in recent years but. Well. You have been warned.
I write this from room 202 in the Jaguar Aparthotel@4am 3/5/11 as the rosters crow in the background. I flew in this afternoon after thinking that I secured a transfer from Apollo taxi for 1, 000 pesos. When I arrived my driver was nowhere to be found. I guess my spanish is not as good as I thought. I saw a guy with a sign for A2B transfers and asked if I could jump in the the shuttle, he said $20 for me and $20 for my wingman. $40 total? Would a taxi have been the same? Or is it $40 per person? I am sharing my story so the vets can tell me where I have gone wrong. As you read the story, I think I have gone wrong more than I'd like to admit. We get to the Jaguar. Are two rooms are reserved as Raphael had promised, me in 202 and my wingman who I will refer to as the "Flying Dutchman" for the rest of my post in 201. Raphael seems like a true gentleman and his staff seems very attentive. He asked me to make any suggestions that would make his establishment better. From my first day, I would suggest a small microwave and more kitchen supplies like cups, frying pans etc. To make the kitchenette more useful. None the less I am very happy thus far with my accommodation.
I and the Flying Dutchman head to the streets. We need to change money, eat, and see the sites of the zona colonial. We head east on Independcia taking in the sites and becoming aware of our surroundings. We pass Manolos. 305, and come to the pharmacia with the orange shop so I can fix my DR cell I bought during my August trip on the north coast. My phone is reading invalid SIM? It turns out if you don't use your cell for more than 3 months your number and SIM card becomes invalid. You must buy a new SIM for 100 Road pesos and also present your passport, a copy will not due as I soon found out. So we continue with my non functioning cell, meaning I can not call the online chicas that are awaiting my arrival. The day goes on. The Flying Dutchman is hungry and I need to change the few hundred US$ I have hidden in various places on my person into viable Road$ ASAP. The Flying Dutchman needs to find a working ATM to dispense some cash. We are both successful and head to Grands for lunch.
We sit down and order a Presidente Grande. And it is bien bien fria! Finally I feel like I have arrived! Flying Dutchman orders un sandwich completo and I arroz con pollo. We take in the sites of various others who are on the same mission as us, along with passing chicas who all make the grade. With our bellies full and a slight buzz to our cabezas we head east on el conde. We walk all the way to plaza Espana and agree we have seen enough of the sites. It is time to sample what Santo Domingo has to offer. Let's find a taxi and go to GBP!
We explain to "El Gordito" who is our chosen driver where GBP is."Avenida 27 cerca de Lincoln donde esta una lugar que vende autos." This where it is to the best of my knowledge from reading previous posts. We are traveling on the westward side of Ave 27 de Febraro and I remember from Jaosousa's earlier posts that it is on the east bound side. We make a Uturn at Lincoln and go down the first small side street. El Gordito asks a few construction workers if they know about a casa in the area. No luck. The Flying Dutchman is growing weary and it's not looking good for our fearsome trio. El Gordito is determined to find the place and insist that move forward east bound on ave 27, and we do. The next side street is after a Mercedes dealership and we make a right. I see a building with circular cut outs. Eureka! I also remember from Jaosousa's earlier posts that the building has such a description. I head up the stairs with anticipation that we have finally found our destination. The Flying Dutchman and El Gordito wait in the car for my confirmation. There it was with a neon GBP sign above the glass door. I call down to the two and The Flying Dutchman pays El Gordito the agreed tariff of $300 Road. El Gordito comes up with The Flying Dutchman to get the number of GBP so he may bring future clients.
Everyone happy we enter, the only two in the joint around 4pm. With all eyes on us the less experienced Flying Dutchman is a bit intimidated. I assure him to relax, enjoy a beer, and take in the sites.
To be continued.

A2B transfers are per person so if you were alone a $20 transfer is not bad. Nice trip report. Keep posting please.
...With all eyes on us the less experienced Flying Dutchman is a bit intimidated. I assure him to relax, enjoy a beer, and take in the sites..
Yes, it is intimidated (and I don't have any wingman) but I'm always happy when I leave the place. I've been here for two days and Nathalia caught my eyes instantly. A cute morena. When I'm satisfied with the service I don't see the point to change the girl but I'd like to do that to feel just like a king and his harem; I suppose I'm not. I go to GBP in the early evening this time for a change, I used to go in the early afternoon. I pay 1000 pesos, I always grab a beer and pay a drink to the girl and we go to the room. Less than an hour later I'm out with a smile on my face.

Snatch and run robberies and pickpockets are widespread. Police protection has been much better in recent years but. Well. You have been warned.
Thanks for the warning but this will be Carnaval #3 for me in Santo Domingo. I have been lucky twice so I will keep my fingers crossed again.
Day 2 was a wash, I was too tired from business to do anything after getting back to the hotel.
So today, Day 3, I got up early, chilled out at the Hotel Barcelo Capella resort until 10'ish then headed out, destination: Santo Domingo.
I asked a couple of taxi drivers the day before on how much it would cost to get from Juan Dolio to Santo Domingo, and they quoted US$90 for a round-trip. Hell-to-the-NO! I wasn't going to pay that kind of money so I walked out to the Boulevard to see what kind of gua-guas I could catch.
Less than 2 minutes after I waited, a mini-bus pulled up. Sure enough, the fare to Santo Domingo was only 70 pesos! Got dropped off a block north of Chinatown (Av Mexico and Av Duarte) , saw that there were bus depots right there. Asked if there were buses that go back to Juan Dolio / San Pedro, the answer was yes, large air-conditioned buses that charge 110 pesos. Cool, I shall return.
Walked south from there towards Zone Colonial, while taking in the sights. Damn, there were hot women everywhere! What took me so long to come down here?
Killed some time walking around, ate, and got my souvenir shopping done. A box of Dominican cigars from a local supermarket. Then it was time to head over to GBP! Flagged down a taxi, negotiated 200 pesos to get to "27 de Febrero why Lincoln". Actually the "building with circular cut-outs" is right ON Av 27 de Febrero, right next to the Mercedes dealership.
It was around 2pm when I walked in GBP, there were about 8 or 9 girls. I picked two of them for 1500 pesos. One of them, Nicole, looks like the American singer Ashante. YMMV, but I don't think you really get GFE at GBP. It was rushed, absolutely not even a pretense of a massage; and couches, instead of a bed, were used for the fucky-fucky (their words). But, at 1500 pesos for 2 girls, who can argue?
Paid 200 pesos for another cab ride back to the bus depot, boarded the express bus back to Juan Dolio. Will rest up and try to go to Boca Chica tonight.
The vibe is in the air as Carnaval 2011 arrives. I was out walking in Gazcue tonight and there seems to be a different feeling in the air. Maybe it is just me but Carnaval brings a special excitement to SD. The temporary barricades are in place, the review stands are getting their final touches, traffic has slowed down due to an increase in pedestrian and car traffic.
I planned this trip around Carnaval and to those in town who did not know you are in for a great day tomorrow.
Take Knowledges' advice and be careful of pickpockets like you would be anywhere there is a big crowd. Charge your camera battery tonight and enjoy the day tomorrow.
I am looking forward to a wonderful day tomorrow.
Well Its been about 2 weeks since we got back first time I really had a chance to report. Well we stayed at the Mecure and I will report about that later. We check in than I called my taxi guy and showed him Borruca list of things I want to do for my buddies and he said thats a good list and said yes he could do that for them but asked first was everyone hungry and we were so he told me lets go get something to eat in one of the neighborhoods. I told him that some of my buddies were different from me and really into strip clubs and I wanted to start them off with the list and really show them why they should come here for their needs. He say do not worry leave it up to him and when he is done they will be wanting to come back and that he wanted to break them in by relaxin and eating and doing some talking around some beautiful woman at a local bar / resturant etc.
Well this bar was perfect it let the guys talked to taxi guy get comfortable and he knew some of the girls working as waitress there and called a few to come out and that was perfect because I alerted him that I did have a date and if it got to close that I would leave them with him and deal with my chica and the important thing that I want him to take care of what they wanted and I will be fine so that is what happen but before I did I got info from one of those fine waitress for future purposes (LOL).
Well I did not see those guys again until late the next morning and OMG that just got them guys started and from what they told me they got a good taste on the first day and night and now wanted more and my 2 strip clup buddies say they were going to do a mixture of the chicas they didn't get last nite and the list that I gave them. So for the next few days I know they did both GPB and Grand Paradise and one of those they did twice (not sure which one) and also one of the other ones on that list (not sure which) and I know they did one of the casa on Pasteur it was either satin or sky.
I really did not see these 2 buddies all that much just phone calls they were on a mission and enjoying themselves and so was I and my other pal. Now this guy got a chica on the first night from the bar and than he got hooked up with another fine chica later on the second night and he stayed with her on the rest of the time which is okay because that is his style back home. All in all these guys are coming back and I know there is going to be some changes back home these guys told me that the expensive girl friends / strippers etc are getting the boot and only the cheap ones are going to be kept for the needs in between trips to DR (LOL).
Me personally it was good the chica I met turned out very well because I thought she lived in Santo Dominigo, but she lived like 1 or 2 hours away which was perfect since I knew she would not asked to stay the whole time and would have to go back. She was a nice chica and I did enjoy her and she said she wanted to see me again before I left and it worked out fine that she had to work and was only going to be off the day I left so I told well when you get off work on my last night come by stay over eat breakfast / lunch and see me off to the airport so that is what she did. So in between her I got up with a few chicas one from the bar and I had my friend have the chica he was went have one of friends come by which was very good.
I also put my spanish to work I have been talking some lessons and I am in no way fluent and I have a long way to go, but I was much bolder this trip and manage to get numbers and info from two chicas working in the stores for my next visit and I picked up a street walker and did hit her. There are street walkers in the colonial zone and the 3 I met I would not have guessed they were because I am still fairly new to Santo Domingo. Two of them approached me and both were pretty fine, but I would not have thought they were I took their number but I did not get up with them maybe if I had more time I would have.
The third one is the one I approached but I did not come at her like a pro because I did not think she was I thought she was just a woman doing some shopping because she did not even look close to the part or give off that vibe that she was. It was only after trying to talk as best we could that it become obvious she was a pro, but I did not care she was looking good and I had to do her.
I will talk more about the Mecure later

I have been out of SDQ for 2 years and reading the posts I feal totally lost. I read back 20 pages and see nothing familiar. What happened to,
Casa Teresa.
Casa Azul
Casa Munecas
Tabu 2.
Girls, Girls.
Also is GBP an abbreviation or full name.
I read bunches of info but feel my (GPS) brain needs a serious software update. Thanks boys. Peace!

Casa Theresa (avenida ortega and gasset, past plaza de salud) and Casa Azul (about three blocks from casa theresa on Paraguay) still exist and are open for business.
Munecas supposedly means Dolls. I don't know casa munecas, there is a baby dolls on the malecon near the zona colonial.
Tabu 2 and Girls, Girls I have no info about.
Find the link for Boricua Online's SDQ Google Monger map, he has pinned the location of many venues in Santo Domingo.
Club 305, Satin Dolls and Sky High are located in Gazcue near independencia and pasteur. La Parada and Lapsus are located near the Jaragua Hotel. Foxys (6000-8000 pesos) and baby dolls are on the malecon near zona colonial. Playboy Palace is in zona colonial. Casa de Modelos is located near the Malecon Center. Pink Pony is on ave nunez de caceres near kennedy. There is another small place on ave. Gustavo mejia ricart in a plaza on the second floor, near ave lope de vega. Club MC and the Penthouse are just north of avenida 27 de febrero. Ejecutivo near st vincent de paul and las americas highway. The Mansion is in zona oriental. Gran Paradise is near the horse racing track about halfway to the airport. Paco Club is two minutes from the airport.
Venus de Milo and a few other places I have not yet visited.

Casa Azul, Ortega why Gasset in fron t of Plaza de la Salud. Phone is 809 567- 7303, on Paraguay 230.
Is casa Munecas and casa Modelos the same place? If positive, it is Vicente Beltran and Beningno Filomeno Rojas Independencia. Near UASD and two blocks out of Independencia, diagonally across a colmadon, a guy sits in front of the place. Open 24 hours.
People has reported that there is a Tabu 2 but nobody has been there. Tabu 1 was torn down last year, it was next to Lapsus.
GBP is Gimnasio Bar Privado. Gimnasio is Gym, they have a couple of exercising machines there, Bar is where you sip drinks, there is a bar area where you met the girls and privado means private.
