But things are a long, long way from any kind of return normal visitor levels. Hotel prices at major Hotel chains can provide an economic snapshot of the current and 6 month out projected economic forecast. Take the Sheraton Sukhumvit since you mentioned it: I have a 6 night no pre payment, fully cancellable booking with them for a deluxe room in March, 2022 for $100 per night. I could have booked same room, same hotel for $65 per night with a prepared no cancelation booking, but I am not sure the kingdom will be open in March and I am not willing to bet on it.
My point is simply that the hotel must be nearly empty for management to offer these kind of prices. I hope I will be allowed to go in March, But I don't care. I am in SP now. It is my 2nd visit this year. I am having a rollicking good time. I miss BKK for sure, but I am doing fine.

They own 1/2 a dozen hotels in the same area, and only kept a couple open during the year. At the moment there are zero tourists here in BKK and 80% of hotels are completely shut.
Thailand looks like opening in November. The economy cannot stay closed for any longer, tourist sector has been completley battered.
I think you will be fine with your booking any time after Christmas, even if cases spike up again they will open up and stay open to international visitors.
