Let me try and summarise from info posted here. For Bangkok.
1. The alleys in soi 4 & 7 have bars open. But they start to close from 9 pm. Allowance is given with cops on the watch in the alleys and given some allowance to clear the place, possibly up to an hour (10 pm). The smaller alleys have more bars (alley within alley) but they still adhere to the 9 pm alcohol ban.
Freelancers are widely available in soi 4 & 7 bars, with better quality ones in the smaller alleys.
2. The agogo bars are not open. Nana, Soi Cowboy, Patpong.
3. Thermae is not open. But there are many freelancers standing on the street outside. Not able to separate who are the ladyboys & real girls.
4. The beer bars in patpong are opened to 9 pm, same as soi 4 & 7. But not the agogo bars.
5. Heard that clubs in khaosan are opened too. Maybe till 9 pm as well? Beware of covid test scams.

Bangkok will always have more girls and a wider variety of girls. I think if you want to relax, play some pool, and not worry about having fun or taking precautions, I would probably say Bangla is better. Otherwise, Bangkok might be a better destination for you.

When I looked in [URL]Youtube.com[/URL] for recent videos of Soi Cowboy and Nana there are a few that make it look like they are open again. There are also some that show a very dark Soi Cowboy. That put me on the ground again. The others are old videos, just published recently. One video had a guy telling that already some Gogo's were 'gone'. Among them 'Crazy cat'. I really liked that one as it was calm and always had a few girls that I really liked. Does anyone know whether some Gogo's are already gone or is it just a BS video like the 'recent videos of old times'.

At daytime there are many street food vendors outside the bars that line the soi. It is interesting to see Bacarra outside tables being used as a small food court during the day. At night it is completely dark at the moment with the exception of 1 small bar towards soi 21 and there is some activity at the other end around kazykosy. Everything else is completely dark. You do see small groups of thais hanging around in the dark having a beer, but I assume they work there maintaining the very closed bars.
All bars are closed up but you can see in many of them. Most of the furniture is just sitting inside gathering dust. I am sure when things open they will all be cleaned up and spring back into action. The businesses that did not survive will come back with different owners.

As one poster said, talent was similar to the low end of Soi 6 in Pattaya. After getting used to the looks of the sideline gals, which has been my only hunting ground since early this year, the gals on 7 are really hard on the eyes. Yes, it takes a lot of time and effort to weed through the chaff with sideliners, but for me the effort is well worth it. The thought of possibly paying a BF and then having to pay for a grungy ST hotel and 1 k to 1500 for one shot for a gal with marginal looks just doesn't add up for me when I tend to get 90 min 2 shots for 1800-2200 and it's usually in a pretty decent hotel room or at times in the gal's room or condo. And I agree with CIMguy. Phuket was way more relaxed and interesting from nightlife perspective.
