Hotels, no doubt. Because they are safer, and because renting an apartment can be illegal.
If you're staying for several weeks, you can ask the hotel for a good deal. Book 2 or 3 nights first, see if you like the hotel, and then ask for a deal.

Why do you need a kitchen? Thailand has the best food in the world, according to many people, and in places like Bangkok and Pattaya there is (cheap) food available everywhere you go.

Most hotels can take care of your laundry, but it's usually pricy. Before Covid there used to be many, many cheap laundry shops in Pattaya. And to a lesser extent in Bangkok as well. Now a lot of them are closed, so you have to search and walk a bit more to find one, but they are still there.

When I check in a girl I always give a substantial tip, maybe 200 baht, that's the person I want to be thinking of me for the next couple of hours. Security also keeps the undesirables away.

When MogWai meant the best food in the world, I am sure he meant it in terms of cost and taste. The Asian food that includes tastes like Sour, sweet, bitter, tangy, spicy and savoury all served in 1 plate itself, the street food.

I have seen many youtube videos about the street food today to check this statement. I was surprised by the sheer number of items available in the street food. Even the 7-Eleven stores have more items than a french or Italian restaurant, if you exclude the same type of dish but with different sauce or style in the French or Italian menu.

Also, besides everything, it is all about one's taste and liking. I am always attracted to the Asian food.

Hotel is nice but seems a bit old and dated, have gold with Marriott and got a "premium room" but not sure I'll stay here again unless there's another amazing rate. BTW if you are visiting Ukraine then the best thing is AirBNB as it is super safe country. You do not get cheated.
