I never said these places are for ethnic Chinese only. I meant you have to be able to speak some Chinese as none of these establishments speak English. For those relying on the MRT, the stops are:

Brown Line: Nanjing E Rd.

Yellow Line: Songshan Nanjing.

Red Line: Zhongshan.

Blue Line: Longshan Temple.

You guys do know you can rent a Ubike / Youbike with your MRT card, right? Those yellowish / orange bicycles? That is if you want to scout first.

But like I said my favorite area is in Wanhua.
