Most, but not all hotel ask for the girls ID. At Serena hotel in Tulear, the receptionist always gave me a call, if everything went fin he would only return the ID to the girl. They also checked it very carefully on arrival, so I asked what for hes doing it for. Does anyone know if the French restaurant at the end of the main street in Ambatoloaka is still open? That one after the Safari and mamma mia restaurant, located on a terrace.

In one hotel a girl just knocked the following afternoon at my door, try to sell her goods.

For your own safety. I was always fine with the check in but nothing is for certain since they can all bee in a plot.

It happens but its not very common.

Fazit, for the last 10 year or so, more Germans moved back to Germany. I had a talk with a Spanish expat in wich he did admit, the move to Mada was the worst he has ever done and he regrets it every single day, but he can not go back. Sure there are some good examples but I met only one, married 20 years ago to a local Lady. But he said, it has worsens and nowadays he said. Forget it.

As for me great place for holly-days, like 6 weeks.

After the all I read in various posts in the past my expectations were sky high. Recent posts brought them down, and that is what I found.

I got there by taxi brousse came from Fianarantsoa, late at night and checked in my hotel of choice.

I was so inspired by the hotel amazone and its location, but that 's about it. The interior is run down and is rather on the expensive side for mada standards. Disappointment. After three nights I moved to Serena with is top Europe clean standard with walk in shower etc. The girls loved it too. Perfekt place.

Some members noted that food is a problem, I ate superbe. Best was " Chez Alice " and the Gelateria at Lalana Raseta.

LE Dromadaire was not very busy but simple food was ok and LE Boeuf was just nice in general rather expensive food and drinks.

Girls were plenty in all sizes and shapes, in general very hard core Pros. Discos and bars easy to bee found. For instance, I took one girl to Serena. She had a shower, wich she insisted to take on her own. She performed a BBBJ but no touching on pussy etc WTF. I stud up, took her clothes to the bed, made her dress up and threw her out with no money.

Besides that I had a great week exploring the place day and night with company to my linking. Food was great and I never got sick.

I rose, got out of bed and told her firmly to get dressed, passing her her clothes.

She asked for money but I harshly declined. She got the message of my acting like I was going to beat her if she would not go immediately.

If I read the news about Mada, it is dam dangerous place day and night created by many things.

I felt safe at all time. Felt!

With the exemption of one occasion. I was in a karaoke with a girl and a beer, next table a group of young malgache on their drink. All of a sudden one of them came to our table and started to talk in malgache to me. At first I thought it was friendly but he got very aggressive as I obviously did not meet his expectations. I raised up and realized he reached up to my nose, rather lean in appearance. At home, what a delight to meet for a work out. I was just about to positioning my self to get it lose and give him a lesson. The hole place was watching me as I stopped, sat down and waved the waitress. " Get the security please!" The guy must have been waiting, in a few seconds a tall muscular guy came in, few words exchanged and he lifted the idiot up to his level and hit his forehead. After that he got thrown out. That was glose to a disaster I guess.

We left too, took a Tuk-tuk home for a work out. Being safe at home, it is great to remember but scary at the time.

Day one Tana-Fianar 14 to 16 hours day 2 Fianar -Tulear 14 hours. Weather and traffic permitting. Now it's rainy season. Road can be closed anytime. RN 6 to Morondava and RN 4 to Antsohihy blocked due to numerous landslides.

My advice. Fly.

I would agree with Neddy. I did a 30 hour trip north and it just wipes you out. I thought I saw an earlier post that Cotisse is doing that route but even with them I wouldn't bother unless they break the trip overnight halfway.

Cotisse used to run only to Fianar. Now a premium bus service was established from Tana to Tulear. Nonstop.

The page is a bit silent recently? So tourism is making slow comeback to Madagascar.
