Just got back from VN with my wife and was noting the discussion line concerning money to VN. My wife and I used the ATM method that was discussed, setting up an account and giving her a card to withdraw or deposit money from there. Although before my wife and I were married she would take money out of the account I had set up for her and re-deposit it in her bank, due to them paying 10% interest rate over a 6 month period, hence making a little money on it. She doesn't like to spend at all and would rather save as much as possible.
One note, not all the banks in Vietnam are connected to the international banking systems yet. Vietcombank is and you can withdraw money from the ATM there on international accounts. They charge a 20,000 VND fee per transaction and of course whatever your bank charges for international transactions, mine is $3 per transaction. The highest amount is 2 million per transaction as mentioned.
I used several different ATM's in Saigon with no problem and also used ones in Nha Trang and Dalat with the same results.

OK I have read the thread and it is very hard for me to believe that with all the HCMC experts in here there is no Info on how to avoid the 50/100 DOLLAR (S/T)girls in HCMC or where to find the one that end up in Cambodia for half the price for all night.
I will be in HCMC in 2 weeks looking for some fun with 3 friends from Canada for 3 weeks.

There are many places you can get girls for less than $50 a nite. It just depends on the quality you like. If you go to the clubs the girls will ask for that. They think they are all that and will demand it. But you can always counter. There are the Karoke bars where the girls are cheaper. Less than $50 for the whole nite and you have to go early to get the good ones. But some places have over 200 girls for you to choose from. You just have to make them all come in so you can pick. But going to those places cost a lot of money so not worth it if you are going alone or with just one or two friends. There are the street walkers or the moped girls. Those are cheap but quality not as good.
I hope you can speak vietnamese. Cause you can some of these girls free if you know how to talk to them. They think they will get something long term but we all know we just want to bust a nut for free. But we don't have to tell them that.

HCMC is a wonderful place.
I had got a nice chute and very beautiful lady in HCMC for only US $25 for a short time by a accident / chance.
Next day she called & asked me if she can spend night with me for only US $50.
She gave me her mobile number too. She told me she is married to a Foreigner. She likes to sleep with a nice man for her body needs, hence she charges money so little.
She told me to give her info to only Foreigners.

I will happen to go to SaiGon by mid October. I’ve been there in last November and enjoyed district 1 very much (I know most of the information that has been posted, but would be happy to answer directly to specific questions, if I can). Everybody knows that district 5 (Cho Lon) was famous in the past for its night activities. I visited the district but was just unable to locate anything!
To optimize my stay, I would appreciate if some experts could tell me if:
1 – ChoLon has still some (hidden) charms reletively to the basic topics ?
2 - If the answer is yes, is it possible to get some addresses of :
* some (clean) GF hotels to stay a long time,
* where are the SW operating,
* where to find good girls (P4P) for LT or LTR.

Well if you stay there until December, I will have a beer with you. My friends and I will be there from December 20-January 4th. I will check this forum and maybe hook up with anyone in here for Remy and soda.
