Have been in Makassar and South Sulawesi now for 5 days. Makassar, Toraja and Palopo. Makassar gets a 4, Palopo gets 9 and Toraja was non mongering.
To answer the question of Royaleman99, Makassar is not what you would call mongers paradise but the action is certainly there.
A search on google with the words "makassar pijat ++ will turn up a recent list of massage places, most are available still, but will assign you the masseur sight unseen. Theres a new place named "Turkey", executive spa on the old road in from the airport. FS available but the rather chunky masseuse wanted 500 000 to take her clothes off, FS was 1 Mill. I passed in the end mindful that my Indonesian friends were in the next two cubicles enjoying other services at lesser rates.
Jalan Nusantara is the city's lokalisasi next to the port but it is fairly dissapointing as far as lokalisasi's go. 3 of the 6 fishbowl kareoke have closed there for some reason and of the 35-40 ladies in the other 3 places, I wouldn't have rated any of them. These places have always had older girls and nothing has changed. So after a good look through each of the other places, your correspondent decided that he would rather go and have dinner. One of the bosses, after I conplained about his selection, said that the best girls were at the quality hotel for a price of 1M / hour, opening time for everywhere like this in Makassar is 9PM. Haven't yet checked out Quality hotlel.
There are Girls on the street behind Jl Nusantara running parralel after around 11, some students earning a little kulia money and others who looked pretty enough. But entering the Makassar SW scene is a milestone that does leave me wondering about this mongering lark is going though. What next? The action is there for sure but the quality is lacking. At least the girls here aren't prejudiced against Bule like some of the Javanese lokalisasi's. Opening price always seems to be 500 000 ST but can be negotiated down.

There are a couple of providers who have girls to send out based on orders from the becaks or taxi's. I got to visit one of these houses through some good contacts. There were 5 girls hanging out, one was OK but the others were nothing outstanding. Final word is if you are bringing a girl back to Hotel make sure she has her KTP (I'd Card) card as some hotels will not permit entry without it. Make sure that you escort the girl out of the place afterwards and in this instance down to the basement where the security chief handed the card back with his best rendition of the "trust me" smile that those security people give. All teeth and no warmth. Otherwise the poor girl gets worked over by the security guys for a cut of the money before she gets her card back.

Jiggy jig in South Sulawesi part II
Palopo.
Got into Palopo about lunchtime after staying in a kampung in S Toraja the night. Before and headed in to Platinum hotel to find a room.
Just about to hand money over for two rooms when my friend spots the big "No girls in the room", sign which for this pair of punters was a deal breaker. So we hot footed it out of there with a poster of the whole observant hotel team beaming down at us from the lobby as we left. Got to the next hotel which had the same sign on their check in counter as well but we managed to negotiate a concession. When the boss goes home the phones start working was the essence of the negotiations.
Had lunch on a levee near the harbour where spent most of the time chasing cats away from the table. Some of these warungs haven't yet obtained their HACCP food safety ratings, In fact they haven't heard of food safety full stop, had a walk on the Palopo harbour where a rather bored crew on a palm oil Barge from Surabaya were trying to sell 10 tonnes of fuel. They wanted to get off the barge but hadn't recieved any wages yet hence the fuel sale.
Did a scout of the girl joints but nothing opening untill 8pm and 9pm. First place was about 8 km out of town on the road to Makassar just after going up the first hill. Small rusty sign said Trans Hotel. Had a bar and series of short term hotel rooms on site.
Main action is at Pantai Labombo which is a area of what appeared to be reclaimed land with about 8 or 9 huge halls or discoteque / kareoke halls, each had a selection of girls hanging around although it appeared to be deliberately kept shadowy so you couldn't scrutineer too closely. Music was ear splittingly loud and beer was warm. You get a jug of ice if you want your beer cold. It all just seemed too hard.
Back at hotel the boss has finally buggerred off for Friday prayers or whatever it is they do when they spend their lives guarding against the devil and very quickly a series of lovely honeys turns up on motorbikes for selection. Had a gorgeous 20yo student for 400 000 plus tips. No problem with anything, she just watched TV while OS just snapped away with the camera and then slid his big thing into her. No complaining, no nothing. She was pretty, she was relaxed and she was the best girl of the trip. Photos are in quarantine but will post one day in PG.
Funniest bit was the bosses wife was still there at reception as I came down afterwards with a big cheshire cat grin on my face and she gave me a big smile.
So for someone who wanted to try a real out of the way mongering destination. Palopo might have merit.

Karaoke joints close to the port

If you are looking for free dating and GFE makassar is great. The girls really show they are into you wherever you go. Fort rotterdam, lokasari beach and zona club were great places. Heard zona burned down though. The older shopping malls do the trick to. I even got dragged into a car by two girls which wasnt my smartest moment but had a good time. All of those 18-25 year olds were married or had a local boyfriend as they told me afterwards.

Lombok. Sengigi Beach Massages
Don't see a lot of traffic on this forum for Lombok, so thought I would post my experience. I was staying in Sengigi Beach with my girlfriend. Noticed on the drive over from the airport a good number of KTV (Karaoke bars) in the area. From my experience in Asia, these are often fronts for hookers and sex. Those places were off limits as I was with my gf, however during some down time, I asked some locals and they mentioned Orchard Spa as a place for "Happy Massages" and more. You can find Orchard Spa in any Sengigi Map. In that street, there are a bunch of shady looking massages parlors and also a little plaza with several KTV lounges and include Sahara Club which is supposedly famous for hot local girls looking for extra money.
One massage place in particular, of which I didn't catch the name was clearly an extras place. It is a few doors down from Orchard. It was the only massages place with a closed door. Couldn't see inside. And it had a sign with a red siren like on police cars on the top. And they specialize in baths. Single bathtubs with jacuzzi jets. I walked in and the mamasan knew exactly what I was looking for. She mentioned "girls" and "very happy massages" before I could even ask about their prices! I saw a few girls in the background. They were decent, but I don't expect any stunners in a place like this. Sadly, I forgot my wallet at the resort and by the time I went to go fetch it, my gf was back. So much for my happy massages. Anyway, I thought I would posts this in case anyone is looking for intel in Sengigi Beach. No doubt you can find what you are looking for.
On other matters. If anyone is looking for a great trekking company, airport transportation or other assistance while in Lombok, I urge you to contact Rudy Trekker. You can look them up online. We did a few tours from them. Super safe and best of all, they helped us in a huge urgent situation. And thus I am returning the favor.
