Maybe not as "tech" oriented as sharing LINE contact, but the whole "let's meet after if you're not barfined" is not new.
I remember NEP thriving at 2 am with all the girls that didn't get barfines (or back from a ST and looking for a place to spend the night) and the punters that would negotiate ST prices for a LT stay.
The girls, mamasans and bar owners better get used to it, this behavior is not going to stop, maybe made more obvious now with the rise of technology.

It was just amazing. Always a buyer's market with hordes of gals out to find a customer. "Go with you" was heard a hundred times. Good days those were.

For me, it'd be, in order:
- Soapy / nuru: Mitu.
- Sweet GFE pampering: Momo or Mai Chan.
- PSE milking table: Analisa's.
- Roll the dice: FL off Sukhumvit or Smooci.
I'd also make sure to book in for a 2 hour Thai massage at one of the legit establishments (Lek, Asia Herb, etc.) - sex is fun, but a good Thai massage is heavenly, and usually expensive outside of Thailand.

Even if the guy bought a drink for himself and sat down but no lady drinks, girls would still hesitate to go with him in normal times because they think he is a Cheap Charlie and they won't get a tip over the negotiated price. They're also not making money on lady drinks.
Seen enough guys sit in a gogo bar who do not buy lady drinks and wonder why he isn't getting any attention. Same guy goes to the same gogo bar for a few days in a row spending 2-3 k per night on lady drinks will have a swarm of girls by week's end. I've tried this myself.

I saw her working at Twister, Nana Plaza about 3 weeks ago and would bet you spoke to her. I have heard her same the exact quote from her many times over the years.
She was at Billboard 3 years ago and Random when it first opened in June 2020.
She quotes that exact same rate to anyone she has not seen at Nana before. It includes the bar fine plus the lady. Once she has seen you once or twice she will stop this nonsense as she assumes you know the score. However she will have her hand out for a tip or try to pull some other annoying little hussle.
Just completely ignore her, she adds nothing to the process and negotiate directly with the girl. In reality, only the best 20% of girls are going to be able to get maybe the standard precovid rate 3000 short term / 6000 long term .
Standard rate for an average girl around soi 4/7/8/11 is probably 1500 to 2000 short term. That is for a 5 or 6. Any girl that is really pretty will try and get 3000, however at the moment everything is negotiable. She would want to be InstaHo hot to get anything near 3000 at the moment.

When I go to a Gogo bar, I usually order a water and am picky about who I buy lady drinks to. I have the disposable income, but I prefer to spend it on who I like rather than spraying it to attract fake unneeded attention from girls I am not interested in.
If you are respectful and let your preference known, you're all good with your 1 drink for the girl you want to know better.
If I don't see any girls I fancy or am interested talking to, I move to another bar.
Some guys splurge, spend and have a great time doing it, good for them, if that makes them happy.

And you don't have to sit in a loud bar with less than desirable music drinking the local swill or a weak mixed drink at crazy prices. Can have a great craft at a nice bar for that then go out and tear one off. I have no idea why people will pay the inflated prices on soi 7 and the like for girls who are really not that attractive. If they were gorgeous and performers then I could see it. I've had the prettiest girls in my 20 plus years here from online sites in the past 10 months and the majority of them perform better than most go go girls I've been with and a few were pure PSE Tulip style experiences. And my average price is 2,000 Baht for 2 hours two shots. But I do acknowledge that it's different for those of us who live here. You'll find very few long-term residents hanging out in the Nana or Cowboy bars. When we want to get laid we go online or to a massage parlor and when we want to hang out with our friends we go someplace where we can have a nice drink and talk. And of course we're price conscious. I imagine you are as well in your home country.
BTW, cost of a Big Mac meal isn't 11 bucks here.

Old sayings go. Either you know or don't know. Either you can or you cannot. Surprise. They both often go hand in hand. If you eat at Terminal 21 food court. You can pay 10 baht for cold Nestle bottled water. But did you know there is also a very cold filtered water dispenser with the your choice of price of nada, zippo, or free? The mind is a terrible thing to waist or hip ratio.

Be it Fiwfans, Tinder, TFF, Badoo, I find the girls a lot better than your run-of-the-mill BG in attitude both on and off the sack.

I abhor beer bars, the whole aggressive atmosphere of it all (loud music, loud punters, loud half buzzed / drunk girls, pressure from mamasans or staff for you to drink faster or buy LD.). I much prefer the comfort of a nice place, where I can be and behave like a normal human being.
Maybe I am getting old, but even when I came to Thailand in my late 20's, I didn't enjoy the bar scene (back then was worse, all bars allowed smoking inside).
I understand some people like it, and good for them, we should not all like the same things.
