Rio de Janeiro Reports

Perhaps another topic but....

where I do think Brazil is getting worse, is that the WGs are getting fatter every year I travel to Brazil!

Personally I like thin body types. To me that is a whole lot more sexy than those overweight 1m65 tall ladies who weigh 70+ Kilos as I am seeing more and more.

The first time I was ever in Brazil I still saw many thin, elegant and sexy ladies.

Now (2010) it seems the western consumerism life style (eat, buy things you dont need and then eat more) is really THE thing now. I know this is a personal thing and some of you may like you garotas big (gorda) but I am not one of them.

I think Obesity is really becoming a BIG problem in Brazil. I see the trend in the Termas, Escorts, the beach, everywhere.

Anytone else who agrees or sees this trend...or am I the only one?

Funny, ten years ago there were a lot of complaints on how Brazil was much cheaper in the early nineties.

Brazil isn't cheap. However it's up to you how expensive it will be. Get a good deal renting an apartment, use bus/metro, buy sex in centro, eat at cheap restaurants etc.
Want to save more money? Leave Rio and enjoy other cities in Brazil. The other cities have also become more expensive but the living will be cheaper than in Rio.

Copacabana have become boring after Help closed? Propably, if you're a Copa-monger. Skip Balcony and try Centro.

I don't see the point of complaining on how Brazil has changed. If Brazil doesn't suit you anymore, stay home or choose another destination.

Judging by the very few good reports on Rio the last year it seems that sex tourism have gone down. The forum have become a battlefield between besserwissers and Rio-experts acting aggressive attacking other posters. This attitude will only lead to less valuable posts in the forum and more info exchange by PMs.

Hmmm. That adds up to almost $58. Better throw in another $30 garota (or 3 $10 ones) to bring it to $88/day!

Oh. And the gratitude shown by the girl the next day after you give her the $30 for TLN when she smiles, puts her hands together, bows, and tells you, "khop khun khaaaa" (thank you): PRICELESS.

besserwisser German. Meaning "knowing better". And that's exactly what it refers to, like the more common "smart ass" or "wise ass", or even "smart elick" (smart aleck). A besserwisser - or wise ass - is a person, often intellectual, or at least pseudo-intellectual, who thinks he or she has more general knowledge about things than most others. It can be correcting language mistakes in grammar and spelling, or it can be within a specific topic like everything from politics, geography and baseball to history and science - anything you can imagine!

I am pretty sure they are not gonna to cut it and even if they do, you have insurance that pays you until something of 3-400 euro if they steal something, so if they rob you cheap stuff, you are gonna probably to earn money too, declaring they steal you more expensive stuff.

I always use it and I never had my suitcase opened in 16 years of travelling in all the world, but I also saw that only 5-10% of suitcases had it.

I was out at JFK international airport this morning terminal 4 where Tam leaves from. They had 2 spots doing this plastic wrap around the suitcases for 3 prices, $9, 12 and 38. If TSA opens it then they rewrap for free, the more expensive wraps include insurance where if anything is stolen or damaged they pay for it.

After that I took the train to Penn station NY. Brasil day was going on in NY, I followed 6 asses from 34th street to 46th street, since it was NY I wished it was even overpriced Copacabana but it wasn't. It was just some fine ass and me being invisable.

Helprules: maybe it's time to change your name. Good post and real, I will be in Rio soon and have increased my daily budget to minimum $400 a day, some days I do more, some days I do less, so it's average.

I totally agree with Sperto, there needs to be less arguing amongst some of the guys that have been here forever. There is zero point to it!

Is Rio played out? is everything the same, old scene? get away for a while. you can always come back.

I just happen to return from a trip to Rio de Janeiro and the trips are just getting better and better. The women were smoking hot, the sex was without parallel and the value was unquestionably without comparison. The problem in this forum is that if I dare report some of the deeds that were done, some of you will definitely hate what I did and how I did it.

What I can tell everyone here of the situation on the ground as I observed it was:
1. Balcony was a a big rip off. The girls were not of the same caliber that could be found at Help when it was open. Even though I did not like Help, at least it was a viable option for the late night.

2. The best bang for the buck is found in the Centro, Barra de Tijuca, Largo de Machado and many other spots around the city. I takes some searching, but there are plenty of 8's and 9's and from time to time some 10's hanging out at these places. The prices ranged from 1 real a minute to 2 reals a minute (60 reals to 120 real per hour). The service was always outstanding.

3. I spent a lot of time in my favorite Terma: 4 X 4. There hasn't been a price increase since my last trip, which was surprising, but the place was relatively speaking empty. On Thursdays and Fridays it gets more crowded, but from segunda to quarta feria it was really empty. Still, lots of choices available from the extra super thin, to the most voluptuos brickhouses anyone could wish. The service and value there were always beyond reproach.

There were rumors about a new "Help like" disco opening in Copacabana very soon. Until it is up and running, IMHO I believe it is part of the mythology that makes Rio such an awesome place.

There is no one twisting anyone's arm into spending their hard earned cash. The catch is to know the difference between "value" and getting robbed blind. I like getting my money's worth, plain and simple. I still find that there really is nowhere that offers what this city, this country has to offer in comparison to the many other places that I've had the priviledge of visiting. Needless to say, I will be back. Soon :D

Here is a list of some of the cheap termas in centro that I tried: terma 21, terma 31, terma 502, terma 81. Each one was worse than the next. If anyone here thinks any of those termas are decent, we will never be on the same page. These places are also filthy! I didn't fly 13 hours to go to some dump with not one 5 or higher in the place. I found 2 10's at luomo and 2 10's at 4x4 this trip. These girls wouldn't be caught dead in these cheaper termas.

Mr E, I don't think I can handle the flight to Thailand. It is just too far. Also, I love latin women. Asian girls are just too thin for me. I like the brickhouses that seem to grow on trees in Brazil and Colombia.

Ricker, How do I know that Rio is the best? I find it hard to believe that any place in this world can compare to the termas. It is heaven on earth. To be 100% that I am right, I will go to Colombia next year. It's a done deal. I am going to finally take my panties off and go. I will be back with a report to compare.

I heard from two sources that a new club that is meant to replace Help was going to open in Barra. I believe the name of the club is The Pier. Has anyone else heard this rumor?

A poster currently in Rio, stated on another board:

They guy that owns 4x4 is the owner of the new spot. I heard the dance hall should be ready next month. And of course you have to negogiate with the girls if you want an all nighter with her. Overall it was an ok place to begin with." and:

"Piere Lounge its like another Barbarellas, with alot of termas girls going there after work, you can negogiate a 200 reais all night. and this is the address of Pier Lounge Av.Do Pepe #40 Barra da Tijuca."

Per Google Maps, that address was formerly Quebrar-Mar Boate & Restaurant. It is NOT close to Copa:

Dutch44[/QUOTE]Seconded. There's more and more fat women in Brasil (and as Brasileiras tend to be rather short, especially in Nordeste and Norte, it's even more obvious).

Even authorities agree that the country is experiencing an alarming epidemic of obesity (more than 22% of the population).

Obviously something worth keeping our eye on. But Barra is a hellishly long way out. Going to Niteroi and back is less hassle. Either are more like 'nearby towns.'
