"Abid" is "slave" in Arabic. In some places, the Arabs still call blacks "Abid." Hence "Abid" + "Allah" = "Abd" + "Ullah" = Abdullah.
Or at least that's what I was taught. I'd rather think Aceh725's acronym is the true explanation. Can someone ask again?

She is there now, but who knows at end July in the middle of summer holidays.

I agree with what ZB says on the non competition between Angus's Blog and ISG and I do think that the two systems simply respond to different needs, in different ways. One acting as a valuable reference and the other more as a news feed where to gather fresh reports and interact with other people. But this is not the issue here, I think.
On the other hand there are rules, and for stupid you might think they are, if you accept them you should stick to them or simply join another site / board.
I'm not sure I fully understand what has happened but if the problem here is Angus posting links to his blog, well, it's for sure more important to readers than to Angus himself.
If people would have read the blog more we would probably have had to answer less time the same questions, again IMHO.
For what I know, Angus has not been banned or similar but I think that his reports are not getting through immediately as happens with regular / senior members but are a bit delayed. Don't know the details. Don't care.
So I can imagine his feelings about this, having helped so much the forum and now getting temporarily quarantined.
Really hope both Angus and Jackson (that's the name of the admin I hope) will read this thread and find a way to sort this thing out, being such a small issue.

Lets not get too carried away with righteous indignation and far be it from me to defend Admin but the offending post which was censored not only mentioned Angus' Blog but also suggested that a newbie poster (LrnInOut) might like to hire Angus as a guide during a proposed trip to Berlin.
In hindsight it is very possible that Angus was set up (he would not be the first to be set up by other ISG Members and subsequently reported to Admin). The newbie poster (to my knowledge) has not posted again since the incident in question. I personally was surprised at how much Angus was pushing things at the time and considered reporting his post myself because I felt it inappropriate for him to directly canvas for business in this forum.
Down through the years, many ISG Members at least as famous as Angus have moved on and this Forum has continued without them. As far as I know, Angus is not banned from this Forum and has many options open to him if he wishes to continue to report or post comments. None of us, me, you or even Angus Magee is bigger than this forum. If Angus chooses to not contribute well that is a choice which he is free to make. Members come and go. The Board moves on.
